Because privatising energy and water services was a great idea. Some young individuals are so dumb. They complain about the cost of living and yet they want to pay more for less.

England isnt subsidising free prescriptions - or anything else- in Scotland, dont talk nonsense. We have the barnett formula which the Scottish Government has to work within, and they made the choice to make prescriptions free. If the UK government wanted to, it could choose to do the same - be angry that the UK government doesnt choose to do that.
Why do people presume no NHS means complete privatisation. It doesn't, many countries have a system where those that can afford pay and those that can't don't and it has better outcomes for patients and better working conditions and pay for staff. People seem to think it's NHS or USA system that's ignorant. Countries with the best outcomes are a mixture. Nothing needs to be binary
Im sorry but why is Reem given any kind of platform, on this show or anywhere else? She's talking nonsense, and works for a right-wing think tank and is a free-market obsessive. Competition and profit do not belong anywhere near healthcare. There is no evidence at all that competition naturally leads to improved, cheaper services - Water, gas/electricity and Railways are all privatised, with lots of competition, and customers are all paying more for not great services. The idea that this would be good in healthcare is pure fiction. As someone like Carrie that has had Colitis (and had to have surgery and now have a stoma), I am glad that Reem can speak so confidently on behalf of all insurance companies and say that Carrie will be 'All good' under an insurance model. Its called a pre-existing condition, which means that people like myself and Carrie probably wouldnt get insurance, or would have to pay enormous sums for it, and youd still end up paying for anything else that isnt covered by insurance, which will still be a lot of money. Yes there are issues in the NHS in regard to social care especially, and there are structural issues with it being - as Carrie said- a top-heavy bureaurcracy, and yes there are people in this country that take the NHS for granted sometimes, but none of those are reasons to allow privatisation. Keep greedy, profiteering hands off the NHS.
Lets choose between heating, eating or health? Nhs is just badly run, turning peoples lives into a commodity will not solve this issue. Anywhere outside of London will not be profitable and so the poor will die.
I think anyone earning over 70k a year shpuodnt use the nhs. Theree needs to be some logic here. Same with pensions. If you have a 70k private pension, you shouldnt get a top up. Obvious.
A Tory and liberal dream. No matter any real facts peoving privatisation would be better. Rather your taxes goes to the owners. Better to use the money to improve a pubic health system.
