I meant to add that I'm pretty sure LoneWolf had the same style roof bunk with the accessory tent skirted under it, but as usual his version of this trip has about 12ft of snow with gale-force winds :) and his lovely pup Boomer who was quite happy and warm up in the tent at night as the winds howled. Nice to see this juxtaposition of you and him camping out with similar gear in very dissimilar terrain and weather.
Many yrs ago we rented a roof tent & took 3 kids camping in a campground nr a lake. My youngest was 1 month old & nursing. Everybody who saw the baby thought I was crazy, but it was great. The height was fantastic - breezes, no dust, no watching eyes, no bugs (mesh windows). My husband & the oldest boy slept in the truck & I had the younger boy & the baby. It was more primitive than your tent, but opened the same way with the ladder attached to the floor.
Thank you for letting us tag along. I love the solitude of these forays! I’ve been caregiver for my mom and my sweetest 13 yo shih tzu now for several years so these are the perfect escape for me. An admirer from 🇨🇦
Another great video - so relaxing. Love the absence of annoying music and your photography is superb. What a great setup, too - think I'd be asking for a discount on that roof tent if I were you! Thanks again.
No extraneous noise (aka music) A major reason I watch this, no background music Only Wind, rain, birdsong, leaf crunching, chopping wood, crackling fire...
Love the roof tent. All the conveniences of home. I really like the fact that it is high off the ground. Yummy meal! You are such a great outdoor chef Andy. Love all the flavors blending together. Enjoy your adventure.
Andy your dinner today brought me back to college when I had a venezuelan roommate who would cook arepas most nights of the week - he was quite good at it, and I could smell those memories in my mind watching you cook today. Nice job!
I’m an Aussie bushmen, I don’t have a channel but I must say I thoroughly love watching your videos we are from the same paddock you are a legend and thanks for making UA-cam a better place 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Just admit it Andy, you're gonna have to buy that roof tent as well, it looks perfect for the job. You know you won't stop wanting it until you've bought it! 🙂 The only thing I am starting to see, is a problem that I have and cant solve, in that, the more 'things' you add on for convenience and comfort, the more irksome it becomes to set up and pack away - a balance to find. It might be worth a fireside chat perhaps with Simon about both of your experiences on managing kit, what kit is essential, desirable or just plain excessive... Just a thought for a future episode for you both. Good work mate. One more point, could you do a review / appraisal of your axe, pros and cons, comparison to others etc, you've had that one a long time now, certainly tried and tested, it would be good to hear your opinion on the steel, how the edge holds out and how often you have to sharpen it, how different wood types affect it? Cheers Andy, atb mate. P.S. I have been very close to buying one of the Winnerwell firepits, either the one you have, or the next one up in size. However, I won't commit until I have seen someone, who I trust, do a review of them both, side by side in a real world comparison to see which one 'fits' best. I think they have seriously dropped the ball here in their approach to you, made me raise an eyebrow and think again about what there customer service may be like...
I am from Argentina but i have lots of Venezuelan friends since there has been a massive migration in the past few years. Those arepas looks really nice. You should also try one day some "Patacones" , also known as "Tostones". Also....we dare you to do a whole episode in spanish :D
