Iv learned some things I always wanted to watching some of Greg's lessons. I don't read and haven't had lessons. So to pick up things from someone like Greg is a masterclass.
Pure genius! So technical with style and feeling , Seriously I could listen to him on his own all night !! There’s not another guitarist that I could do that with , without getting bored after ten minutes. Just truly one of the best , if not the best in my opinion 👌🏼
So ridiculous that anyone would give this a thumbs down. I guess aside from the entertainment factor, the UNBELIEVABLE level of skill, and the generosity of his teaching ability, what's to like...
His Rhythm is lead in itself - the breadth and depth of his chord vocabulary, and ability to embellish and adlib them....Just another level - this stuff can't be taught or we'd all be doing it!!
just a breath of fresh air and good cheer with a legacy of a sustained permasmile ,, thank the good lord for greg koch,! the planet needs him, our souls need him ,,,no not your shoes silly!! 👍😇😎
Who is this guy ? The best of the best that's who You are just absolutely wreckin' that Revrend.I will watch this video from now on...Cant believe its been 5months already
I've watched this a couple of times, or more, and I am still mesmerised. In just over 10 minutes he goes over so much stuff, if I sat down and really concentrated there is probably a weeks work, a month? probably longer before I could even begin to get a handle on this, but to actually have that soak into my pores so I could call that up at will, well, that would probably take the rest of my life, maybe longer lol
Greg, I've been watching your videos for years and there's something familiar in your speaking voice that's been eluding me for years . . and today it hit me. You speak very similar to Alan Sherman, the comedian who used to sing comedy words to popular songs, kinda like a forerunner to Weird Al Yankovic. That all having been said, I thoroughly enjoy all your music videos, even though I often can't tell when you're giving it to us straight, or cracking wise.
I loved the pseudo jazz/blues grove in G. I could hear Miles Davis riffin" in my head! way cool. Ive got some work to do today. Diminished and minor 3rds are my bread and butter. And yes, you are absolutly right.
OMGreg! Kind of stuff I look for and above that too. Super duper info.... I hope TrueFire works with you on this kind of great stuff in future courses. Thanks!
You can find all of the tab & notation for this lesson on TrueFire! This lesson is just one from his new online masterclass, Gristleman Guitar: bit.ly/3n714UC
As usual, Greg has shown his mastery of harmony and the fretboard. It's easy to see why Joe Bonamassa says that Greg is the best guitar player in the world.
Greg did a demo video for the custom Martin I bought from Wildwood back in 2017 and oddly, I’ve never been able to make it sound anywhere near that. I was actually slightly worried it wouldn’t be a great sounding guitar since Greg can make a toy guitar with 30 year old strings sound great but fortunately, it was a mix of a great player and guitar merged together and was $3K+ well spent
I've noticed that a lot of the really great players are huge physical specimens, in regards to their hands. Not taking anything away from the obvious mastery Greg demonstrates but Greg, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert and others have ENORMOUS hands and long fingers.
There is so much information (even unspoken and implicit) crammed into this video, it's incredible. The best video I have seen on sounding great in the blues world, comping or otherwise. I will be watching this again and again! Thank you!
I still have your SRV series DVD! Love your playin Bro! Saw you once in Portland,Waterfront Blues Fest, and went on a “Blues Cruise “ you were playing on,with Malford signing. Thank you

Well said!
Great groove but way too advanced for me.
🦷 That chewin' on tin foil tone just popped out my fillings.
Gregs noddling is better than the entire arsenal of 20 players
Lightbulb stuff many thanks.
I’m sitting watching this with a huge grin on my face. So amazingly satisfying. Love Greg’s playing
This is gold. Way back in the 90's I used to see Greg and his band in Milwaukee. I never thought I'd be learning from him "on the computer".
Taking blues to magical places
Iv learned some things I always wanted to watching some of Greg's lessons. I don't read and haven't had lessons. So to pick up things from someone like Greg is a masterclass.
I’ve said this on almost every one of Greg’s vids… his personality comes out in his playing. Absolutely incredible!!!
Pound for pound, probably the country’s best guitar player… every genre, every style!
Pure genius! So technical with style and feeling ,
Seriously I could listen to him on his own all night !! There’s not another guitarist that I could do that with , without getting bored after ten minutes.

Highly advanced stuff - drifts into jazz and way above my level.
Huge knowledge, of a LOT of the good stuff on guitar.
So ridiculous that anyone would give this a thumbs down. I guess aside from the entertainment factor, the UNBELIEVABLE level of skill, and the generosity of his teaching ability, what's to like...

His sense of humour can sometimes overshadow just how good he really he is!!
His sense of humor is all up in his guitar playing. He’s constantly telling jokes with his guitar too. Mr Wiggles. Love this guy.
Oh gosh, my brain just got a massage through my ears. That was F’n awesome!!!!!
Very happy to be here! You Go, Greg! All that stuff IS good for you! 👍🎸✌️😎
Love this guy... such an amazing musician, very creative and funny! He makes it looks like it so easy.
Greg definitely went down to the crossroads. Awesome stuff playing in the pocket and making it look easy!
Greg always has such great tone. Whatever amp or guitar he plays.
So versatile! A lot of “Kochery” licks which I just adore :)

simply a genius guy.....
As usual, Greg has shown his mastery of harmony and the fretboard. It's easy to see why Joe Bonamassa says that Greg is the best guitar player in the world.
Wow, I didn’t know that! 👍😎🎶
With all the respect to Mr Bonamassa, i didn't need him to tell me.
Hard to not agree with Joe on that one! So Cool he said that. I didn’t know he did.. awesome!
The funniest too! I fondly remember seeing his take on chicken picking and Led Zeppelin back in 2007: ua-cam.com/video/jQQIT4SJHpY/v-deo.html
He is , and he’s pretty darn funny
Love it! Great to see you on True fire Again
Best guitar lesson I've probably ever had...may you never thirst ....thanks for sharing that...I'll be working on that for a long time.
This kind of makes me depressed. In my head I know I'm watching one of the best guitarists in the world.
This video is my blues bible.
Greg is such a madman chordal freakazoid gifted badass ... it's out-worldly ,even alien ha ha you gotta love it!
Glorious.
Good gravey…. Greg reminds me of a funky Danny Gatton with a ton of quirky awesomeness!
Saw Greg in NH around 2001 at a seminar for fender amps. He was really good. ☘️🇺🇸🎸
F… good ! I was lost not far from the beginning, but still love hear you talk and play. One of the best for sure.
Thank you very much ! Greetings from Argentina.
My God!! Real deal player !!
Definitely need to practice my “schweedle-schweedle” more….. You the man Gregory!
I've noticed that a lot of the really great players are huge physical specimens, in regards to their hands. Not taking anything away from the obvious mastery Greg demonstrates but Greg, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert and others have ENORMOUS hands and long fingers.
Thanks! You just provided me with a lifetime worth of practice material ha ha time for me to woodshed
There is so much information (even unspoken and implicit) crammed into this video, it's incredible. The best video I have seen on sounding great in the blues world, comping or otherwise. I will be watching this again and again! Thank you!
