I picked up pyro because he was the only one I could reasonably do well with on my potato pc. 30 hours of gameplay later I've lowered all my graphics settings and installed an fps config, and things are acceptable for me to play other classes. Depsite this I pretty much cycle between Solider, Engineer and Pyro. I currently use the Dragon's Fury, Scorch Shot, and the Axetinguisher reskin (like a mailbox, I can't remember the name). I haven't gotten trash talked too much for using the scorch shot, but I feel bad using it sometimes.
pretty cool how pyro succeeds at his original purpose. I heard in team fortress (the quake mod) pyro was added for people with high ping so that they were still able to be helpful
When I was still a beginner at the game, and was starting to get the hang over pyro, I used to think that since the airblast consumed a somewhat bulky chunk off of your ammo, as opposed to the primary flames attack, it was supposed to mean that it was by itself a special attack that did more damage as opposed to the flames, but in reality it just pushes them back😂(except if you're deflecting rockets and grenades at your enemy, obviously)
im currently in "The decision" stage! I started as a combo pyro, but i sometimes get frustrated at flaregun being quite hard after the airblast changes and get RLY frustrated at reflecting because of the new flames particles not letting me see shit.... On the other hand, the phlog+deto pyro is rly fun to me aswell, but not just to w+m1 (i rly dislike dying, so im always very careful), i been improving my movement so i can put as much damage with m1 as i can/surfing a rocket to escape or "airstrafe+m1¿" without dying. AND THEN try this lovely "Phlog cancel" thing ive recently learned as much as i can (AND NO, I ALMOST NEVER HAVE A POCKETMED FRIEND). Lovely video, thanks alot!
Pyro threads the line between a heavy and a scout. High sustained dammage and great for moping up weakened enemies. The unsuspecting part of the pyro is that he can airblast while shooting flames. It really surprises the enemy when a pyro does that.
Engie and future pyro main here when i got burnout from engie i searched up on yt about pyro it got interesting when i came across ur channel well now i play engie and pyro so thanls dude
I was always drawn to Pyro due to my general inability to aim in most shooters, but honestly, what really hooked me was when I watched LazyPurple’s “How it FEELS to play pyro” and discovered airblast. Finding out that there was a class that could REFLECT ROCKETS was when I truly knew who I would main when I finally got the game.
my journey with pyro started out with scorchshot axtinguisher combos, and then i discovered the flare gun and haven't looked back lol, the flare gun combo and reflects are some of the most satisfying things in the game
I am a proud phlog pyro. I will use the degreaser every now and then, but the fun when you mass clear a tight room full of the enemy team is fun. As for Pyro being W+M1. Heavy is also W+M1, Demo is W+M2+M1 Soldier is also W+M1 Medic is W+M1 with the medigun Spy is well spy Snipers are cowards Scouts are annoying little shits
I ended up switching to medic as my main while I was in a transitional period between phase 2 and phase 3. Still, pyro is one of my favorite classes thanks to his wide array of support capabilities.
@@theshade0038 I am a Medic main that sometimes switches to Scout and I tell you, if you ever feel like trying another class, go for it! Some games don't need Medics I've found, and sometimes end up benefiting from other classes a lot more

I always come back to pyro when I feel like there's just too many enemies around. A little backburner ambush and that pub push is over and I can finally breathe again.
Seems so accurate! The only part I think was inaccurate was how they stop W+M1+M2 at stage 7 as I learnt combo pyro(Shotgun secondary, not flare or detonator) on stage 3.
I’m creeping up on 200 hours on the class, and stage 7 is pretty accurate. I love the degreaser and panic attack, but I’ve recently tried out the flare gun. It’s fun and all, but it’s a pain in the ass to fight other pyros, and I never hit the same high that I do with the panic attack. I experiment here or there, but I always end up going back to my go-to. Great vid
I gravitated towards 4 classes when I first played. Demo, Engi, Pyro, and Medic. However I always felt like I wasn't doing very good as Pyro. And after buying all the weapons (on marketplace, not the TF2 store luckily) I realized how versatile he was. But sadly stuck to Phlog, I did however LOVE the flare gun. Actually got decently good with it. But never resisted braindead MMMPH. But then I stumbled onto pybro. I grabbed the wrecker and started protecting engis. Spy checking and removing sappers. Then realized how powerless I was against soldier. So I went back to stock and started practicing airblast. Now I'm practicing that along with degreaser combos. While every class has nuances and important skills. Pyro has such a wide variety of playstyles and niches. I wanna prove he isn't just a w + m1 easy kill.
when i started i played pyro bc i like fire, and i started by doing setting my eneimes on fire and then using the shotgun to finish them off while they are burning, i wonderd why other pyros didn't do it as it is more effective than just using only the flamethrower
over the few months i've been maining pyro, i come back to this video here and there to see my progress. it's legitimately a good measurement to make me not lose motivation and know i'm improving.
@@JaxontheOkay in rare occasions when a casual server is bot free there's always rotten apples in for of pyros, who ruin all the fun. Good snipers and scouts can ruin fun too, but at least it takes skill, effort and time to get good at sniper and scout
I just started playing TF2 the other day. I literally just tried out each class and narrowed down to my favorite in each role. Pyro was by far my favorite of the attackers, and even though players hate him, I’m excited to learn more with Pyro and, ultimately, the game in general
There was this one time when I was playing pyro, I got ubered, surfed some knockback (this was on badwater), landed right next to the payload cart and killed everybody.
I’m thinking of getting into tf2 but I feel like it’s so far in the games life and I don’t know where to start, should I just download the game and q into casual?
i've been watching tf2 videos for like 9ish years now, but only have 20ish hours on the game, happy to say with only 12-13hours on pyro, I'm happy sitting at around stage 7(but started out as a W+m1 phlog. it got to the point in named my phlog "W+m1")
Just hit 400 hours on Pyro and I can definitely say I’m in a transition phase between stages 7 and 8. Been playing a bit of Scout recently (I’m not good at all) and Medic is my secondary main. +1 for the TFP mention, I'm a moderator there!

I've reached stage 10 a year or so ago and to keep the game fun i take long breaks (2-3 months) to get rid of my muscle memory and when i come back i go to whatever i want and eventualy start pubstomping again. Thanks for making this video, i was waiting for someone to make this because WAMO just like... exists... Keep it up champ. Edit: Fun loadout: Dragon's Fury, stock shotgun and backscratcher.
I started quite before THE degreaser nerf and THE axetinguisher nerf (don't quite remember the year now) but I've gone through only two of the stages you listed... I know it's not a serious generalization, but still... I picked up the class specifically for the amount of possible combos... As soon as I unlocked the degreaser, flaregun and axetinguisher, I equipped them and began training to combo with them, eventually alternating them with more niche or more powerful secondary weapons after mastering them, while training airblasting in airblast servers...
I just started playing this game a couple days ago and this video is painfully accurate. It feels like youre describing my exact experience. Unfortunately im still in stage 3 but im glad to know its only gonna get better

Did you remix the music too? The dedication!
Pyro threads the line between a heavy and a scout. High sustained dammage and great for moping up weakened enemies. The unsuspecting part of the pyro is that he can airblast while shooting flames. It really surprises the enemy when a pyro does that.
1000/10 better than WAMO's 10 Stages. Ive been waiting for this moment
I just tried watching it... it was so... insubstantial.
@@lullypawp3479 I know right?
This video made me realize that I have a long way to go before getting good (less than 20 hrs)
Thank you for making this video! ⭐
Engie and future pyro main here when i got burnout from engie i searched up on yt about pyro it got interesting when i came across ur channel well now i play engie and pyro so thanls dude
The PMD gang appreciates your choice of background music for stage 10. Very cool.
The only other guy who did this was WAMO and well... I don't think he passed stage 2...
dont usually watch this channel but the sfm art is top-notch!
Not ashamed to say the Phlogistinator is my favourite weapon in the game for reasons I can't describe
@slivervibes silvervider Yes.
You forgot the part where they become furries
How tf did you know
They don't *become* furries, they always were
:3
I don’t remember that happening to me
@@marbulOfficialSelf roast lol😊
@@xternalrage2924 I mean I am a furry so it's not that big of a deal if I joke about it OwO
my journey with pyro started out with scorchshot axtinguisher combos, and then i discovered the flare gun and haven't looked back lol, the flare gun combo and reflects are some of the most satisfying things in the game
4:04 did he just dabbed
Yepped
LMAooooo i love how i also have that pyro haduken dab mod installed haha
on a serious note, this video is really wellmade, good job!
I am a proud phlog pyro.
I will use the degreaser every now and then, but the fun when you mass clear a tight room full of the enemy team is fun.
As for Pyro being W+M1.
Heavy is also W+M1,
Demo is W+M2+M1
Soldier is also W+M1
Medic is W+M1 with the medigun
Spy is well spy
Snipers are cowards
Scouts are annoying little shits
🤓
how do you do m1, what even is it?
@@SolarFlare9714 m1 is just mouse 1, left click button on your mouse, generically the button used to fire your weapon
@@zacharybartlett7677 thank you
Dear lord that footage for the final stage... Beautiful and disguuuusting. Great video.

here my friends is someone who never met there mother.
I think you meant to post this under a video about Scout.
YES YES YES, ANOTHER VIDEO THANKS MAN I ALWAYS LOVE UR VIDEOS :D
I ended up switching to medic as my main while I was in a transitional period between phase 2 and phase 3. Still, pyro is one of my favorite classes thanks to his wide array of support capabilities.
I always want to play pyro, but no one on the team picks medic ;-;
@@theshade0038 I am a Medic main that sometimes switches to Scout and I tell you, if you ever feel like trying another class, go for it! Some games don't need Medics I've found, and sometimes end up benefiting from other classes a lot more
@@kassiaactuallydraws9361 sadly, i suck with every class i play, my second main is Pyro, and i suck even with him

It is finally here the day I have been waiting for! Cheers to you mate for making this absolute banger of a video. Much love (platonically)
Finally a proper pyro 10 stages vid!
I always come back to pyro when I feel like there's just too many enemies around. A little backburner ambush and that pub push is over and I can finally breathe again.
This was just awesome! Thanks a lot!
Damn, I’m a new Pyro main (only 2 hours) and this video made me feel awesome about my pyro skills, thanks
Ah yes the stage ten. The "I got matched against a new spy and made them quit the game"
Seems so accurate! The only part I think was inaccurate was how they stop W+M1+M2 at stage 7 as I learnt combo pyro(Shotgun secondary, not flare or detonator) on stage 3.
I love the gameplay in the video love your work.
Glad we got someone to continue the series. Great video. I'll send Hamaji the video to see what he thinks
Great vid
this is actually a lot better then wamo’s video on the 10 stages of pyro. I recently hit 300hrs on pyro and this is pretty accurate.
Pmd2 time gear theme. Love this game so much! Glad Pirateer does as well
11:30 this clip where the soldier follows the pyro down with intent to kill but is willing to play rock paper scissors with him is just wholesome
Finnaly acctualy well made video made by someone who acctualy understands the class, the complete opossite of the 2 count em 2 videos that wamo made
Someone knows what community map is at 6:36?
I wanna prove he isn't just a w + m1 easy kill.
the phlog phase is the most accuracte thing ive ever heard lmao
ok, but like... What else are you supposed to do other than W+M1? Just, not shoot them?
I have 50h of playing pyro and all I just can say I somehow jumped from a stage 5 back to stage 4 and can't leave it no matter what.
As a Pyro main I've wanted this for so long...
when i started i played pyro bc i like fire, and i started by doing setting my eneimes on fire and then using the shotgun to finish them off while they are burning, i wonderd why other pyros didn't do it as it is more effective than just using only the flamethrower
over the few months i've been maining pyro, i come back to this video here and there to see my progress. it's legitimately a good measurement to make me not lose motivation and know i'm improving.
Improving on being the cancer of tf2?
@@2pizza847 think there's worse things in tf2 at the moment than people who play pyro
@@JaxontheOkay in rare occasions when a casual server is bot free there's always rotten apples in for of pyros, who ruin all the fun. Good snipers and scouts can ruin fun too, but at least it takes skill, effort and time to get good at sniper and scout
@@2pizza847so how are you enjoying now that it's bot free
I'm happy there is finally a good 10 stages of a pyro main video.
I did I Huntsman arrow reflect I can never not try again I did not know you could but now I am starting to like Pyro
I’m thinking of getting into tf2 but I feel like it’s so far in the games life and I don’t know where to start, should I just download the game and q into casual?
yes, it'll be around for several years at least, and lots of beginner-friendly community servers
@@Pirateer5 thanks, I’ll download it today and hop in.
yoooooo im the engie with the crit hiding around the corner!! also subscribed!
I can't speak for everyone, but it sure as hell did not take me 20 hours to learn how to reflect projectiles.
i've been watching tf2 videos for like 9ish years now, but only have 20ish hours on the game, happy to say with only 12-13hours on pyro, I'm happy sitting at around stage 7(but started out as a W+m1 phlog. it got to the point in named my phlog "W+m1")
Just hit 400 hours on Pyro and I can definitely say I’m in a transition phase between stages 7 and 8. Been playing a bit of Scout recently (I’m not good at all) and Medic is my secondary main.
+1 for the TFP mention, I'm a moderator there!
try turning off mouse acceleration
Informative! And also funny.
I want to master every class eventually, but Pyro as a character is such a freakin' weirdo, and thus my favorite.
A highly produced video, you have really made an effort for this, I am glad to have watched this video. Btw is this at the end Pokemon mystery dungeon soundtrack? Nice piece.
Its been such a long time since I last played tf2, I just got this as a notification and watched it, and while I might not play tf2 as much as I used too, Ill always remember the time when I honest to god wanted to be the best pyro player there is.
Thanks Pirateer, for helping me relive those memories, even if its for a short while.
Honestly i love Pyro and i love being a Pyro main
I've reached stage 10 a year or so ago and to keep the game fun i take long breaks (2-3 months) to get rid of my muscle memory and when i come back i go to whatever i want and eventualy start pubstomping again.
Thanks for making this video, i was waiting for someone to make this because WAMO just like... exists...
Keep it up champ.
Edit: Fun loadout: Dragon's Fury, stock shotgun and backscratcher.
This is probably the most accurate stages of a main i've ever seen
I started quite before THE degreaser nerf and THE axetinguisher nerf (don't quite remember the year now) but I've gone through only two of the stages you listed... I know it's not a serious generalization, but still... I picked up the class specifically for the amount of possible combos... As soon as I unlocked the degreaser, flaregun and axetinguisher, I equipped them and began training to combo with them, eventually alternating them with more niche or more powerful secondary weapons after mastering them, while training airblasting in airblast servers...
2:50 respect to the man-melter for taking the shot
Wow I can't believe this hasn't been made already until now
As a Pyro main, i can confirm that at the stage i'm at, everything is correct
It's like a beautiful butterfly
I just started playing this game a couple days ago and this video is painfully accurate. It feels like youre describing my exact experience. Unfortunately im still in stage 3 but im glad to know its only gonna get better
i was just rewatching this video and 5:34 is literally me wtfff
