- Get rid of that bench and bolt in some sweet classic buckets using AMD brackets, p/n 407-3466-S. These fit all A-bodies from 1968-1972 (Skylark, Cutlass, Lemans and Chevelle).
I tried every combination that made sense and couldn't figure this out until I saw your video. Thanks so much!
Thanks man! Glad to help!
Thank you for sharing, Good info!!!
Hey great video! The brackets come with no directions lol .
Thanks Brother!
This is great, I will need this soon, thanks :- )
Great video
Appreciate it!
why can't you just drill and bolt them to the floor like i did years ago i don't remember having any issues
Brackets prevent twist caused by the floor pan and seat tracks being out of plane.
@@BriansGarageUSA I did order them was just asking thanks for the reply was thinking the factory doesn’t use them
@@bobdimartino6738 Bob, these are copies of the original equipment brackets. GM made a bench seat floor pan and then added brackets as needed.
Question, I just bought a 70 lemans I got some seats for it from a chevelle but the holes on the bracket from the seat aren’t lining up to the brackets that’s are racked to the body of the car. Do I need to get different brackets for the seat or do I need to relocate the brackets that are racked in the car body to match the seat?
If it was a bench seat and you want to install buckets, then you will need brackets. If someone has already installed brackets, they may have installed them incorrectly. Easy to verify by comparing measurements to those in this video.
@@BriansGarageUSA Got it. but as far as the fact that the seats i have came from a 70 chevelle and my car is a 70 LeMans would they still bolt on once i fix the floor bracket issues? Are all GM A body brackets the same?
thanks

Buick, Olds, Pontiac and Chevy have the same floor pan. These marques also use the same seat frames for both bucket and bench seats. Only difference is the upholstery design.
@@BriansGarageUSA appreciate it, thanks
Where are you located, what is your contact
This is breathtakingly overthinking the installation. It's so easy... Just place the new brackets under a bucket seat and put that one bolt into the existing bench seat hole. Then all you have to do is line it all up and tack weld a couple spots, remove the seat and then weld the brackets in proper. No need to do all this business with measuring, remeasuring, aligning with string, etc.
Reminds me of the great philosopher, Mediocrates, who famously said, "Eh, good enough....".
