    I swear, any time I have a question about something EF related, I just search your channel because I know you've probably already got a video on it; lol.
    I just picked up a nice set of 87 Prelude seats that I plan on putting in my EF and this vid will help alot. They're blue, and will go perfect with my blue interior.

    Also the update on our project ....ngk spark plugs wires and starter installed and works perfect starter inhibitor switch was replaced and installed head gaskets seals valve cover gaskets and seals replaced and installed wiring harness repaired fuel system being replaced oil band and sensors gaskets and seals replaced all hoses and lines replaced filters being replaced ....as for brakes upgrade suspension upgrade front and rear conversion to disc will take a while due to budget.....so far but will make the list as well as some cool stuff we seen on your cars the list goes on but we are making progress thanks to all your inspiration you gave my husband and me thank you so very much because he really loves his car and has separation issues with it ....because he owned it for so very long that he says its part of him part of who he is part of his soul and at first i thought that was weird but now I get it ...because he has had so many memories owning this civic that if he lets go of his car the memories go with it. ...so now I fully understand and glad he has been working hard to rebuild and restore his...oops our civic hi5

      I know the feeling, but I don't possess it anymore because I love making new memories also. I'm actually selling a couple of my cars right now too because my wife and I want to move. It's time, and I can always find something else to get into in the future. But I'd like to never stop growing in my learning with these cars!

    • @GarageBuiltHondas

    • @bklyn1267
      @bklyn1267 4 роки тому +1

      Great idea but you need a better weld. You have a lot of undercut and your weld doesn't fill the whole seam. Next time just go a little slower and weave your weld to fill that seam. But like I said before great idea

Something broke inside! I wonder if i took off all the fabric to find where it broke and weld it! But idk! Guess ill hit the junkyard up and look for something descent! This gives me hope. I’m putting in AE92 GTi seats into my KE70 Corolla and the rails are okay but the brackets are huge in comparison to the stock seats. They’re about 1-2inches too wide. So need to cut and readjust then weld back on.
    What settings do you use for your welder? I have a similar flux core one

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, I've been doing this for years. Mine was at speed 4 and on MAX. Test it on a similar sized thickness metal. I always do that first to try and get the cleanest and best penetrating bead.

  • @Edsecondstocomply
    @Edsecondstocomply 6 років тому +1

    Have you considered a pan swap? I've mounted 3rd gen prelude seats into crx, DA seats into ef sedan, and Delsol seats into crx using a pan swap. My current 90 hatch has 88 Si seats in it as well using a pan swap. No cutting or welding and all brackets line up like stock.

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 років тому

      I've never attempted it. Does the foam all match up as well?

    • @Edsecondstocomply
      @Edsecondstocomply 6 років тому +2

      @@GarageBuiltHondas the older gen seats all came out matched up very well. I could see a larger bottom cushion like in those later Prelude seats being an issue, so in that application you were 100% spot on with your method :) But for sure DA seats into EF, 88/89 into 90/91 Ef or vice versa are an easy pan swap. I was even able to source blue auto seat belt DA seats for my 90 EF sedan with interior and auto belts :) only one I tried where the pan swap didn't work was leather integra seats into my crx. The seat pan swapped over perfect but the top bolt hole on the reclining handle didn't match and the seats had a permanent g-lean.

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 років тому

      Nice! I just got a nicer condition seat cover and foam for my 88 CRX, is it relatively easy pulling the seat apart and reinstalling with the new foam/cover?

    • @Edsecondstocomply
      @Edsecondstocomply 6 років тому +1

      @@GarageBuiltHondas I've never gone as far as pulling the foam from the skeleton. But pulling the cover is not bad. If you get a hog ring tool it'll be easier, but I always just used pliers. I even reused the old hog rings. There are maybe 20~something holding the bottom seat cover, and less holding the seat back cover. I think of the seat back cover like taking a shirt off someone. You're way more mechanically incline than me so it would be a cakewalk for you bro :)

    I don't have a welder nor can I weld lol so would drilling holes and bolting work?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 років тому +1

      Probably not. There's not a lot of room on the rails for extra hardware especially when they are on the edges. I'm not a welder either. This welder is only $90 from harbor freight and it's super simple to use. It gets the job done. The welds aren't super nice but for small exhaust work and stuff like this it'll really come in handy.
