Home-bound with Stabbing Pain -Sebrod's Hyperacusis Story

Поділитися

  • Опубліковано 20 лис 2022
  • Sebrod has had Hyperacusis for about two years. At first, he was able to live life fairly normally as long as he wore plugs. However, after a night of clubbing his ears felt like they were on fire. Since that day he has been suffering from ear fullness, burning and especially stabbing pain.
“It’s horrendous pain that even when I’m not around any type of noise, it just lingers.”
He talks about how he suffers from noise, and lost his job and shows some of the types of hearing protection he uses.

I have been suffering from hyperacusis since I was 37, now 44... I fully understand what you are going through... I had to leave everything... music was my life, 25 years as a music producer......
I have pain even without sound, delayed pain, burning etc...
I can only say that the one that has taken me longer is that you let it heal and that in most cases it improves slowly over time... a long time... it took me 1 year to be more stable... but not well ... but enough to do more things...
Time and precaution are our weapons... if you improve, don't trust yourself and always protect yourself in noisy environments....
A big hug and encouragement... We hope that videos like yours serve to raise awareness among more people and that they discover new treatments....
    A hug.

I had a job, two cars a girlfriend, an apartment, etc. I lost my job because I hated the music, the voice of my coworkers, the people talk, I get irritable easily. I am now at my parents I lost everything. I am doing on line studies but deeply inside hating my guts for not be able to know how to deal with this situation. I just get tooo mad, from trivial noises. I used to smoke a lot in the past, and I also had a hardcore impact on my head that took me to the hospital. I had a next level concussion, and all my auditive senses are messed up. My psychiatric is just giving me anxiety pills, my psyco therapy been telling me to water all my plants, my parents are tired of having me home. @dianecelento4974 I had hyperacusis from 2009 to 2014. It started off as 2 weeks of Loud tinnitus from sound exposure trauma. My life was listening to loud music with ear buds and playing loud video games with headphones non stop for 6 months. The hyperacusis was both pain and hearing everything way too loud.I made a list of what caused me pain. MOST Sounds perceived amplified by 10 times as well
Running water in shower, sink and in pipes as well. Air passing through ventilation systems ...
      Refrigerator ...
Voices...especially female or very low voices The S consonant stabbed my ears far worse.
      Automobiles
      Television and radio
      Squealing brakes
      Birds
      Silverware pots and pans
Crushing plastic bags sounded like a crackling fire
      Fluorescent lights
      Gas pipe lines
      Shopping carriages sqeaking wheels
      Etc...Etc..Etc...
      What worked
Relaxation techniques...very soft sound therapies that I created for myself...I also used soft rain sound while sleeping. If I used anything too loud ...my tinnitus would spike.
I also had a very bad case of misophonoa which led me to hate every mouth sound including chewing food..gum snapping..lip smacking . I would get furious and or sick from these sounds.
Thankfully within 5 years I beat all of this . I sadly had no support from my own spouse with this. It angered me to think that she now had control over me. I said NO to this and took huge steps in sound exposure even if it caused me pain and relapses. There was no way this would beat me. Today...I'm enjoying life without pain and suffering. I find it hard to move on and forgive those who offered no support at home and at work. I almost lost job and marriage. God was my strength but the f8ght was all mine. Best of Luck or faith if you have it. It's easy to let this destroy you. I kept enjoying long walks and good food. I collected Invicta watches and spent most time alone. It was rewarding in a weird way because it taught me the value of caring and loving ones selve above all to heal.
