I didn't like being lied to about a game that clearly wasn't finished, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Yeah, they messed up big time, but that was still their hard work, I wouldn't even wish this on Bethesda after 76, no one deserves this happening to them. Hackers get away with way too much.
The biggest concern would be personal information and perhaps other files which are not technically game related. Whoever bought the source code cannot use it to make a game, etc. Malware mods are about the best they could accomplish hoping to take advantage of the ignorant. Game Journalists don't benefit from the same source identity laws that lawyers and doctors have. I will say it kills any option for multiplayer though. Hackers have already destroyed any desire I had left for Multiplayer already.

The CDPR with the luanch of CP2077 has turned itself into a worldwide sim & ever since CP2077 release, we've all been living in it. These CDPR/CP2077 news stories we've been getting are also the DLCs that we're being granted for free.
The announce a year ago free DLC and also paid expansions like in witcher 3. But i assume in this situation first expansion might be also for free.

I'm glad people are starting to see this. Yeah, they fucked up. But in all honesty, they've handled the aftermath quite well. I mean, Bethesda introduced a season pass not long after the release of Fallout 76. A game which was in a much worse state than Cyberpunk. Disappointment is understandable. The anger is not.
I think it's incredible how in 2 months CDPR went from being the "best studio in the world" to a sad meme.

@@orquijojhelot664 it wasn't only because the witcher 3 is a good game(even if you don't think it so), it was because the good practices in the industry, like all free dlcs except for the expansions which are even bigger than some full AAA games. That was very different from the common industry practices to the date, full of lootboxes, paid dlcs, and micro transactions inside paid games.

@@pR1mal. it’s the disparity in quality that most people are upset about. Of course console versions will see certain downgrades, but the level of which those downgrades were made was considered unsatisfactory to most, especially considering that the game is still buggy even on pc.
This doesn’t justify the literal theft of their property, but that’s why people think it’s justified. Which provides more proof that people take video games too seriously

Bethesda has been using their engine for Fallout/Elder Scrolls games for at least over 15 years, so I wouldn't be surprised if they said they were going to keep upgrading and using it for the next 30 years as well.
