I wouldn't say that it's the best, it still lacks some things from the HD rereleases, and some PS2 effects are still missing. You should've also mentioned the mod that fixes the cutscenes at 60 FPS (if I accidentally skipped the part where you mentioned it you can ignore this part).
All PS2 effects that were cut out are back in this release for the cutscenes. VFansss made sure that everything that was needed to be included is in here.

After I got N Switch Master collection v1 with sale price, I am falling in MGS again since 20yrs! After I saw few videos including yours, I really want to try MGS 2 3D camera mode! Do you think is it worth to buy mgs 2 pc version to try 3d camera mode?
Its a very unique experience that it gives you a brand new perspective of 2. Since the game was more designed for overhead than 3rd Person it might be a bit like cheating but it's a fun way to play if you'd like to try something new!
Does this version of the game have a workaround for the lack of pressure sensitive face buttons on most USB controllers? I know that if you want to lower a gun without firing it, you can press R2 to unequip the gun, but I'd ideally like the option to lower a gun without unequipping it, like you can on PS2.
For some reason even with these mods I still have some glitches like the character models going pitch black during a few cutscenes. I don't know what the deal is with that.
Don't think it's that. I'm running an AMD 5600x and encountered no probs. Maybe it is your driver's. If you can install thr latest drivers that might help

@@Kelphelp I'm not sure about the first one, but as for the second the 60 FPS cutscenes patch was made after V stopped updating his fix.

I just today installed it with Vs fix and the 3rd Person mod and i love it. And tbh in some areas 3rd Person is harder than the original camera😅
Since the game was designed around a top down it partly feels like cheating but then again it's a very cool experience to go through.

It should work without issue. I would recommend following the readme to install V's fix first, then the 3rd Person camera mod.

I think the pressure sensitive buttons were not put in for some reason, I did forget about that option. Hmmmmm I do wonder if s mod exists for that

Most likely. If it's the original PC release then yes. File size on DVD should be around 7.7 GB

Hmmmm that Def is beyond me, and must be something in the modders end.
Check just to be sure that it's done on a clean install to be safe.
@@Kelphelp I did that too. Both on my SSD and HDD. I do use AMD though. I heard it's more optimized for Nvidia APIS. Maybe that's it?

Naw you good! Unfortunately you can't, it has to the PC ports (GOG) in order to use these.

V's fix is really amazing, the game with third person mod is really an entirely new experience

Still recommend playing this despite the control scheme. It's an incredible sequel worth playing.

Konami got rid of mgs 2 and 3 on every digital store a couple years ago.
I know they did due to copyright reasons but like...the GOG version too?!
