It's my understanding that while Big boss created FOXHOUND with major zero, and subsequently left after discovering Zero's creation of Les Enfant Terribles. It might have been implied that he used it as a front to outer heaven (and possibly zanzibarland).
Specifically, BB could have used it to keep tabs on the government (commander of a special forces unit would help him stop them from suspecting things). And even if they did start poking around (which they did, hence intrude-N312/N313), He could keep his finger on the trigger and stop them. (which didn't work since Gray Fox got the warning of Metal Gear through and Solid Snake "was too good and got too far" as BB himself puts it).
Then your understanding is wrong. Zero, Sigint and Para-Medic created the patriots, Big Boss joined them after Ocelot asked them to invite him, he left the group after the Les Enfant Terribles.
you actually don't NEED the blast arm to break open locked doors, just running punch does the job.
I tried it during the run and just tested it again now and I can't seem to get it to work, does it need to be in a specific spot?
@@KlyeKlyeKlye All I know is you have to aim for the lock and make sure your fist hits it, and it breaks the door open. Pretty sure I remember doing it, cause I speedran a few levels and never used the blast arm.

As far as I'm aware, sometime after 1984, when Venom Snake regained the memories of his past life, Diamond Dogs were fused with the Outer Heaven forces, and Venom became the fortress' leader, while the real Big Boss left to america to lead FOXHOUND, to keep the Patriots AI's gaze away from Outer Heaven.
As why Kaz joined FOXHOUND, I guess he and Big Boss patched their relationship, and why they trained Solid Snake, well, the ending of MGS4 stated the Big Boss didn't really hate Solid, he respected him as a solider and a man.
Actually, the end-credits dialogue explains Kaz's motivation for training Solid Snake. In the dialogue (which is a conversation between Kaz and Ocelot) Kaz vents his frustration over finding out Big Boss lied to him and deceived him. Thus Kaz decided to betray him and help Venom, but also train Solid Snake. Ocelot then said he'd go train Eli(Liquid Snake) then, whenever he finds him. They agreed upon the fact that eventually they'd become enemies on the battlefield. Not just David and Eli, but Ocelot and Kazuhira.

Big Boss saw potential in Solid Snake. At the Epilouge in MGS4, Big Boss explained that he always respected Solid Snake as a man and soldier. What he never wanted was the Patriots to clone him. Big Boss left Foxhound because of the growing disagreements between him and Major Zero. He also left the Patriots when he found out that his DNA was being used in the "Les Enfants Terribles" project. When secretly forming Outer Heaven, Big Boss returned to not only train Solid Snake but to use the mission against Outer Heaven to test Solid Snake's skills and loyalty to recruit him. it deals hefty damage to regular helis, easily destroys FOB bases, is easy to use, has extreme stealth capabilities, can pass corners, and to top it all off it can recharge, thus enabling infinite ammo in places where it shouldn't be possible, such as s-rank runs and FOB infiltrations

I think that Big Boss (actually Venom Snake) restarted Foxhound because the US government (actually Cipher/the Patriots), through cut-outs and backchannels, was using Diamond Dogs to carry out operations around the world (remember that they were the clients in the Honey Bee mission). Kaz was probably the one to become aware of this and proposed a way of "getting one over" on Cipher by working from within their system and subverting the Patriots by training a new breed of soldier. Big Boss, however, wary of the possibility that the Patriots could use Diamond Dogs/Foxhound to threaten his plans, moved up the timeline of the Outer Heaven Uprising to sooner than expected and set up Venom to take the fall, should it backfire. This way, there's a tragic element of Venom training Solid Snake, and then being forced to confront and die at the hands of his pupil.
14:24 there's an interesting mechanic with Sally's fight where when it opens its chest cavity you deal extra damage (if you hit its chest, obviously) as seen in the first clip. Also, as far as I know, there are a couple of items that charge faster when you run, like the Stealth Camouflage✌

Jehuty and Anubis show up a few times throughout the MGS series There's a Z.O.E poster in MGS2, Meryl Silverburgh (MGS1) is straight from Policenauts and the Mk1 & Snake's civilian coat (MGS4) are from Snatcher. It's always fun to see the influences and references!

The Hand of Jehuty is actually amazing, but only in combination with actual weapons. So it’s not very good for this challenge, but it’s good usually.
I don't see a use for it. Just put down a decoy and tranq everyone that comes to investigate. You can clear a guard post in less than a minute and even the Afghan base in about 7 minutes.
Pretty sure you can use the fully charged stun arm to defeat Volgin too
I forget how ridiculous Venom Snake looks with that debris in his head. With the amount of abuse Snake goes through in a single mission, he should've been dead a thousand times over by the end of the game. Any hit to the head around the horn would easily be lethal
I watched something a few months ago about how there were supposed to be various effects when hit in the head (Like how the colours change in the prologue after the Man of Fire breaks your leg) and in Chapter 3 he was supposed to get hit and hallucinate, would have been cool to see that in the game!

I was also wondering why Big Boss returned to FOXHOUND while playing through MGSV recently. I guess the US just wanted him back.
I'd love to see some kind of official comic / short film that detail the intricacies of his return. He must have had some kind of devious plan going on considering he tried to trick the USA and bait Solid Snake in MG1. That would be a fun story to see unfold.

2:21 The sonar ability’s actually a lifesaver on the awful Subsistence mission variants. Anyone who’s invested into FOBs will likely know you can mark enemies through walls when Noctocyanin is active, but *you can also mark enemies through walls even without an enemy silhouette.* Since sonar gives you enemies’ locations all you need to do is point your int-Scope at the resulting circle and repeatedly mark that general area until it’s shown that you’re dealing with either an enemy or a gerbil.
14:15 The HoJ is also really good in general, not just its overpowered nature in FoB PvPs (seriously why didn’t it get nerfed). With a high enough camo index you will only be spotted around 30ish meters while crouched and unmoving, and enemies will only alert at 8 meters. What you can do as a result is snatch a soldier at 20 meters, dive at them to knock them down, and hold them up. The best part is that enemies will 1) sometimes hear the sound and run over to where the soldier was without sounding a soft alert, and 2) will stop and stare at you when initially spotted. Both of these mean it’s easy to then chain holdups and get a lot of tactical takedowns as a result- snatch a soldier while crouched, dive into them to hold them up, get up to crouch, and rinse and repeat until there’s nobody else around to see. The only things holding it back from eviscerating any FoB PvE balance would be the security devices (especially battery drainers) and sniper FoBs being able to ignore all camo and aimbot spot you a mile away.

@@pieprincess5778When prone you’ll usually have an even better camo index and subsequently enemies will spot you at an even shorter distance. Unfortunately the 8 meter alert range seems to be the minimum cap even if you sit prone and use stealth mode.

@@pieprincess5778Spotted = enemies can see you but don’t necessarily sound the alert. It gives you the white fuzzy directional indicator when this happens.
Alerted = enemies will sound the alert and go into combat mode. The game gives you Reflex Mode when this happens as a small window to try and stop them from calling out contact.
Love the HoJ. If you can avoid a Snipers, Camara's and UAV's. You can do an entire FOB with just the HoJ and a water pistol. Super OP Secondary💯

To my understanding, Solidus was a result of the project of "Les Enfants Terribles" he was the only perfect clone of big boss. So if Liquid is the White Mamba, then Solidus was a child by this point too. If I understand correctly, at some point V and Miller train Solid Snake while he wasn't a part of the American Military. Snake then joins the US army at some point and history proceeds as it does in this game series
Kojima has stated that the game is happily finished in his eyes. Yeah, some things didn't meet the cut, but it's just a false meme perpetuated by the people due to the rift between Konami and Kojima. Love the vid ❤️

pretty much, there were only 4 notable things cut from the game:
battle gear, the return of chico, a boss fight against skull face, and episode 51. out of these, the only one that really matters is episode 51, even chico would have just been an optional buddy like quiet you could kill with no impact on the story.
there was never an entire third chapter cut from the game, despite what people want to believe based on the chapter 3 splash screen in the files, and we know this from the script that leaked years ago. anything else about the game feeling incomplete is from people's own expectations playing the game and projecting their dissatisfaction with the final product on development issues, or to praise kojima for something he didn't actually do because "the game is unfinished on purpose because he wanted us to feel the phantom pain"
10:06 About FoxHound, we need to remember that an IA can recreate perfectly the will of someone like with The Boss in Peace Walker. Same happened to Zero and JD took his place after Skull Face put him on a coma.
JD wanted Big Boss to return to the US since that was what Zero always wanted (he even created Venom to stop Skull Face and protect Big Boss while he was on the coma) also, Big Boss never hated the US, he did leave sure but wasn't against the idea of working with them (again, as we saw on Peace Walker and V).
How or why did he returned? JD didn't know he was the one directing Outher Heaven or Zanzibar Land since he was back on the US (with Venom continuing without being very public) and as we saw on MGS4, he didn't "hate" Solid, just never saw him as his son until the very end but was respected as a man and soldier (something Liquid never achieve). About Miller? We could say he was pretending to still being on BB side and training Solid so one day he could defeat him (thing that became true).
It wasn't until JD or now The Patriots saw the treat of a nuclear organization that decided they have to leave. JD gave the task to FoxHound and Big Boss and Mille assign the mission to Gray Fox and later Solid, hoping both would fail. The rest is history.

Foxhound didn't exist before or during Phantom Pain. The original Fox unit was The Boss's, and later, Zero's.
Since Zero was the second person close to Snake and who didn't betray him (unlike Eva), Snake prolly came back to Zero. Remember that Zero managed to jerk off Snake and then do the cloning. Snake left Zero and let time heal the wounds, but was he really betrayed? He wasn't dumped by Zero, that's for sure. So Snake just came back and they tried again
Regarding the first sehalanthropis fight, i actually unintentionally overheated the minigun just before the charge attack, but there appears to be a failsafe for this as they backed off as if they were shot like normal, hope this helps :)

14:00 grabbing with the arm stuns them a bit (I think it makes them nauseous) so here you could easily grab both and punch both without having to rush.
Because of the stun you can grab as many people as you need to.

You definitely should!
You should first get S rank on all missions, it’s really not as difficult as it sounds. Then you get the Raiden armor, the rechargeable camouflage and go to town on mission tasks. There are plenty of guides for each mission on UA-cam.
If you’re going for the platinum trophy / all achievements, make sure that you’re constantly developing new items and completing the key dispatch missions as you play. I’d also recommend making the nuke as soon as you can so that you can lose demon points by playing the game naturally.

If you make a few concessions (triggering cutscenes with Snake) then Quiet can pretty much handle the whole game by herself! It's very impressive.
@KlyeKlyeKlye During the final mission of Chapter 1, you can actually dodge the railgun sequence w/ Psycho Mantis by hiding behind a small rock. I've tested this myself.

Naaah come on it's easy! Get the Raiden Suit and Stealth Camo and all the mission tasks become super ezpz, even just the disposable stealth camos can help a lot when it comes to certain things. The hardest part is not falling asleep doing all the Side Ops!

Didn't Venom die during Operation Intrude N313? The real Big Boss "dies" during MG2 in Zanzibar land, doesn't he?
It's been alluded that it was Venom who died in Metal Gear 1 since he got blasted with rockets and still managed to live and during the ending of MG1 Big Boss says he's still alive (the decoy theory fits perfectly here).
In MG2 it says he was "rebuilt" and basically turned into a cyborg by Dr. Madnar which is why you can't fight him hand to hand (which wouldn't make much sense unless he volunteered to be turned into one since he wouldn't have sustained any injuries during MG1) and then of course he gets flamethrowered, turned into ash and then revived "again" using all the spare Snake parts they had laying around for MGS4 only to die 10 minutes later...Obviously they didn't think of the series spanning so long so inconsistencies will happen, but it was probably Venom who died in MG1, that ties the series up nicely enough and it's the most accepted version.
Although I like to imagine it isn't and he went off to find Quiet with D-Dog and D-Horse so they could live happily ever after.

kinda off topic, but i cant find the purupea digitail on the “AIM TRUE, YE VENGEFUL” mission. one time ive looked for like an hour and i couldnt find it. do you know where it is?
There's a big cliff to the west of the camp that you can climb up and it'll be on the top of there, it's a circular-ish shape on the map, bring D-Dog with you and he'll sniff it out for you and mark it on the map.

You can get S ranks mostly based on speed, even if you get caught you can just run right to the objective and you're likely gonna get an S, although you have a better chance if you're quick and unseen, don't worry about perfection, they're quite generous with S ranks.
Once you finish every mission you unlock Gray Fox which will let you run even faster, making S ranks even easier. After that you'll have the stealth camo which means you can do all the mission tasks while invisible and super speedy as Raiden / Gray Fox, definitely makes those "Listen to all conversations" tasks so much easier when you can stand next to the people while invisible.

@@KlyeKlyeKlyei already beat the game, but its hard to get an s rank 😢 i tried to get the s on the first mission phantom limbs but i failed somehow even though i skipped the intel part and went straight to get him, and when i was going to pequad or however you spell it, i got seen by a guard and i had no reflex on 😢
How to grow the horn??
If you start to lethally eliminate people and stop saving people / animals then eventually you'll start to grow the horn until you reach full Demon Snake where you're always covered in blood with a huge horn.
@@KlyeKlyeKlye OR, you can develop a nuke and instantly get demon snake (I learned that the hard way). Adding on, you get worse stats from getting demon snake. EX: You have less stealth because you get spotted more. If you want to get rid of it, there is a combat deployment thingy called “Refugee Rescue” (I think) and if you complete it, it completely resets your demon points. Edit: If you develop the nuke it will also take away a HUGE chunk of your heroism.

I think the chopper gun should be ignored as it’s a required part of the story. Also are you playing on PS4 or PS5?
What I mean is it should be treated the same as the shotgun in the prologue as you can’t avoid using it.

Tough one. Usually I'd say Venom Snake because he's quite a mystery and he's basically just whatever we want him to be which is different to the rest of them who are quite defined. Naked Snake is definitely up there though, without him we'd have no Venom so they go hand in hand!
