How To Fix White Border on Screen

- If your computer screen has a white border around the outside edge of the screen display, we may have the fix? It turns our that many Intel 7th 8th 9th and 10th generation Intel CPU's use the Intel UHD630 video chip. The Intel Core i3 i5 i7 and some Pentium and even Xeon products are known to have this white border problem some times.
We explain the three things that will likely fix the white border on the screen. Intel HD Graphics chip is integrated in the Intel CPU package and problems are known to have happened.
In this case the white border around the screen appeared after a Windows 11 upgrade to my Dell 5477 All in One Computer but it turns out that Windows 11 is not the problem.
Microsoft Surface with Halo: In search bar, type "Updates"; in Updates, click the button, "Check for updates": let it work: halo will go away. Your video was still helpful.

In case of a secondary monitor conected with hdmi is no white border, so is not the video card.
this has only happened to me two times with my laptop. The first was a year ago, and now today randomly when I opened it. In my case it goes away in around 2 mins. its such a strange strange issue and I really don't understand it haha.
this happened to me too, any fixes?
I've heard (from reddit) it's related to lcd screen backlights glue weakening. not sure if true
Thank you, your hack worked for me. You are right, the best thing to do is to keep patience and and leave the laptop on for some time without the power. I feel this is a overheating issue during standby or sleep mode. Not sure, but nothing to do with the drivers for sure. and some thing to do with the latest win 11 update.
What to do plz help
Well here's the thing,
this exact issue happened with my hp laptop
long story short, I shat my pants, quite literally.
also, the issue was resolved automatically for me, just like you.
But i got to know the solve,
**Actually the solution starts from here**
my laptop's display was heated very much, as my brother left it on **with lid closed and on charging**.
so, I turned the ac on to solve the heating at least, and started to look for solution when i landed on this video.
when my laptop cooled down, i noticed that the border was fixed as well.
Now AIO and laptops are very similar and their display can get heated easily too, that must be the case with you too.
I was very scared for 10 minutes straight.
THANKS
👍👍
Thank you. Very helpful video!!
Dell desktop all in one with an Intel core i7-8700T. It happened after I did not shut it down before going to bed.
Did you leave your computer on while waiting for the screen to improve? I'm having the same issue and want to know if I should turn it off completely. Thanks for this video!
This happens on my desktop PC. I just keep using it and the problem seems to go way after a while.
Same issue with my computer screen. Unplugged... still there. Somewhat going away but the flickering is giving me a headache. I hope it improves like yours did.
This doesn’t account for the issue happening on screens with no computer built in. For example this happens on my Dell touch screen. P2418HT This morning, brought up from sleep and the border is there. So it can’t be chip related at all. This is purely a physical screen issue. No driver other than possibly the monitor firmware could resolve this.
Edit: a year later, this hasn't happened again
I have an integrated graphics and as soon as an update pops up, white screen shows. When I update everything, it is gone 😂 I think drivers of display are important
@@Unknown-64209 maybe for you - it took three days to clear and it faded out. A driver wouldn't cause that. Plus I didn't update anything, just left it. It's been fine ever since.
@@chrischimento140you just left it on?

@@chrischimento140 this is happening with a desktop monitor but almost same exact issue from what I’ve gathered it is a screen issue with all the troubleshooting I have done. Could be firmware not liking the monitor but it’s definitely specifically this monitor.
This happened to me on my dell monitor I use for a spare Xbox. When I move the Xbox to my tv there is no border. This issue is with the monitor only not the computer. You can confirm because the border is still there with the source unplugged. You wouldn’t be able to test that on a laptop. The one similarity is this monitor is touch screen as it was designed to be sued with a surface pro for a large external monitor. I will continue trouble shooting the monitor itself.
So how far with it
I have the same issue with an LG ips 27" . Computer hardware has nothing to do with this issur, is purely a screen problem. In my case I think it could be related with relative humidity on air, as it started to appear at a moment when we are having record high humidity levels around. Not completely sure about it, but it's the only correlation i could found atm.
Did you ever find a fix? i have the same screen and the same issue, I have 4000 hours on my screen

@@Doneez I'm pretty sure it is due to high ambient humidity. Sometimes it appears me again when HR is really high. It disappears later tho.
Got a new monitor recently and it had the exact same issue out of the box. The shiny white borders were even there without any video cable attached to the computer, so it was a physical issue not related to drivers or anything else. The shiny white borders disappeared after half an hour or so with my unit. However, when turning it off and on again, they reappear and I would have to wait for another 15 minutes or so for them to go away. Seriously, that‘s nothing I‘m ready to live with when spending so much money for a new monitor. I contacted the customer service and was offered a replacement unit. Though your video is one year old, I’m curious, has the border disappeared over the time after turning it off and on again for several days/weeks/months?
in my case ive noted it happens when the display gets turned on. for example while its on, if you use monitor power button to turn it off and on again, it comes back. if you do it again before its completely gone, it wil be even worse the next time
The problem is possibly with the lcd panel
This happens to me on a Desktop PC. I have a dual Samsung monitor setup (monitors are almost 3years old now). Months ago, this randomly happened to one of my monitors while my PC was turned on, and I thought it broke, so I unplugged it and stopped using it for months. Yesterday, this happened to my last remaining monitor when I turned on the PC. I have nothing to replace it with, and I needed to use the computer so kept on using it without minding the blurry screen. By the way, for me, it didn't affect just the surrounding borders of the monitors. It affected the WHOLE screen. Anyway, as I kept using it, I noticed that over time, the blurriness gradually faded away to just the borders, and until the screen went 100% back to normal (took some hours though). I turned off the PC last night, and this morning when I turned it on, the blurry border came back (this time, it's no longer the whole screen). And after a few hours, the blurry border disappeared again. This gave me an idea to plug back the other monitor I have removed months ago, and just the same, it returned to normal in a few hours after continuous usage. I'm not sure if the problem will return again tomorrow once I turn off the PC later. I don't know yet what causes this but I'm guessing it's not a CPU/GPU problem (I have AMD R5 3600 & RTX 2060Super), because if it was, how come it only happened to one of my monitors before and not both at the same time? I have no idea as well what's the proper term for this issue, but it sure did keep me from suddenly spending money to buy a new monitor.
TL;DR, if you're having this problem, just keep the monitor or laptop on and see if it gradually goes back to normal after a while.
I have the same issue bro... I'm also using a dual monitor setup and I got into this problem couple of months ago... my monitors having white patches on the center of the display instead the borders and they keeps growing all over the palce.... I don't what to do though... 😢

My headphones fell down while I was taking them off and they hit the computer, which caused a line of rainbow pixels at the top and the screen to fill with white static. At first I thought it was frozen when the power button didn't respond but then I realized the function lock button still lit up, so I just didn't press the off button for long enough. I dealt with this after I turned it back on, not as bright as in the video, and it went away in around 15 minutes. My headphones hit the area next to the touchpad under the keyboard, I wonder if that's where the display chip is located. I have been noticing some other odd things, such as (in chronological order) the screen not turning off when I pushed the lid down, the battery icon showing up as charging when it isn't, and most recently it randomly turning off completely when battery is not an issue.
I think it might've been too hot. Will keep that in mind.

Didn't need to change anything just wait a couple minutes after starting. Someone mentions it has to do with the cooling. Have you found anything for you? This is not just a laptop problem, clearly.
No, this is a monitor problem. I have it on my LG screen connected to my Mac.
mine LG too, so how to fix it? did yours solved?
@@babahiraparenting I solved by getting a new monitor. So, unfortunately, I could fix it.
I took off all the wires in my pc and then wait for 1 hour and now its flickering and its like frozen inside and also kind of have water inside to :(
same issue on amd ryzen 4500 u laptop
Did ur problem got fixed??
Facing same issue with my monitor after updating from windows 10 to windows 11... I dont know it is has something to do with the gpu driver update as well or with the transition from win10 to 11... I also observe that the white washout borders appears overtime when pc is on and especially during continuous heavy task like gaming or streaming.. I think can also be related to heating issue??? I did a lot of seach lately but havent found any legit fix solution or answer to this issue.... 🙏 Hoping someone could the soonest.
this has nothing to do with the gpu why because I have tried various gpu 1070, 650, 5700x and 3060ti this is a problem with the monitor I believe it to be inherent with the lg displays that you find in various monitor brands, How to fix it I am still looking
My white band only lasts about 10 to 15 min then its gone. but every time I turn on the monitor its there. Your computer and all it's parts are working fine I don't know if a monitor firmware update can fix this or if LG is even working to fix this but its the monitor nothing else...
a year later what happened?
My fix is dumping my Dell Inspiron 5477 A10 and switched over to an iMAC. Problem solved!
I don’t know how can i do it i try a lot but won’t fixed
I have the middle third without the white border, so I can see that everything is whiter, not just the border.
