Amazing work guys, and it was an absolute pleasure and honor to have Eddie, Nick, and Luan sit down and chat with me a bit more about this. I wish I had seen this whole thing but I was so busy setting up the John Crewe interview that I didn't have time D:. So many more questions!!

One thing they could fix when you land at a station is to give you a HUD progress bar of the remaining time before they put your ship in a hangar, instead of just running like a madman when you hear the operator warning you about it.
@@RiverX I've seen people get teleported while climbing their ship ladder, at least the AI could acknowledge that you are attempting to move your ship.

this work is definitly worth the wait. deciding where i want to make my HQ is heavily dependent upon the atmosphere provided and look forward to exploring them all
They talk about the city biome integration, meaning putting snow on the buildings and ground in the city. Hurston is in dire need of the same thing (sand and dust). It's buildings looks quite disconnected to its surroundings, especially compared to what they are doing with Microtech.
Mickel Ntek They said they have rebuild all planets and moons at this point. I am guessing that the outposts and cities are also included in that “all”
This is the most exciting planet added to the game for me. I love snow planets and I love the high tech look, thank you so much, this is going to be my home for a long time, until you add Earth or Terra Prime.
A big station would have an avenue with shops on each side and trees in the middle with a sky view high about, there might even be a second balcony row of stores. The avenues would curve to follow the station and have sections that could be closed if needed in case of a blowout, such sections locks would rarely be used so they might be half way hidden behind things. Below that you'd find a more seedy place and such things nobody wants out in the open, it might be legal, but.... That's for a public place in a place with daily visitors and people living there. It could even have a high class and low class section. Bigger more used stations would be grander, but any station would have that open feel somewhere as a showcase and to ease peoples minds. Do the station spin or does it have gravity systems, the difference would result in vastly different stations, because with gravity control the shape doesn't matter, it would be created to look good at a distance and good designers would be in high demand. Such designers would rarely make the same stations, but there would be smaller less important stations of a more generic design. Remember people do things for the oddest reason and vanity will not vanish just because humanity moves into space. We would build huge stations looking like different things just because we could, if we had the money to do it. The more generic stations would be more machine built and where functions trumps designs, in a popular place designs would be made to shine while keeping the functions. Its how humanity is.
The concepts of the inside of the spaceport had me think about something. I would LOVE to have a setting to turn on some cell-shading / set its level. It would be so GREAT-looking. As a player you could enable & disable it depending of the landscape, it would be so great.
I might spend all of 3.8 just walking around on microTech. It looks so g'damn good. I hope I can see some large creatures through the ice of the frozen oceans at some point.
important features would be setting custom planetside waypoints on the starmap, terrain and weather radar so we can fly by instruments in poor weather conditions, also would assist in landing without having to use 3rd person, just to name a few. Also habs should have large TV screens that could act as windows as well.
It's a cold, snowy planet, so the geniuses at Microtech thought: Let's make everything gray and white, with some not-too-vibrant blue hints. 😏 This is what modern science is all about. ... Matching the colors. 😜 (The booze industry will love it. - It's not just all the hard work. 😉) 32:12 So when is skiing gameplay coming? 😁 52:55 I hope that's supposed to be soil and not rock. Looking forward to MicroTech, Can't wait to wake up in the Nest. Will we have a Penguin costume as a sub monthly benefit? Or could it be a job, being paid to wear it as MicroTech advertising?
Absolutely love the environment. One thought though: Is it me or is the ingame landscape a bit 'muted' compared to the artwork? It seems like it could use some more extremes such as cliffs and these natural spires outside of the sloped hills and mountains.
@@TheZapan99 :D "Why did the ship manufacturer add spaceworthiness and ion-engines to that Yacht?" "So i can fly over to your moon, and land in your ocean, on my Yacht."
Yes - also wish there was a startup delay..ie switches/systems to turn on or engines warm-up like 10-20sec's or so. Not just jump in & go. would make more drama when trying to escape or chase someone.
Truckstops/stations should be made by the ship manufacturers, and share their design languages. So you could have a clearly Anvil truckstop, as well as others. These look like RSI/Consoldiated Outland ones
it looks idylic almost, and such detailed environments really lend themself to build a role playing story machinima on top of it, if you've got the creativity and voice acting. take some great off character camera shots and you could make yourself an adventure :)
