I worked in film many years and I can tell you, getting a positive review from a major critic is as easy as bringing them on set during production, introducing them to actors and taking them to dinner. All-in it costs a few hundred dollars at most

Grace said she has no hope for the finale and there should be no season 2, but she also stands by liking episodes 1 through 6. If 1 through 6 were so good, one bad one shouldn't turn her off so quickly.

honestly I can't even blame her ep 7 destroyed the past 6 eps so hard. Imagine that in ep 3 rots we get a flashback where we learn that padme and jarjar where the once that killed Anakins mom but everything else is the same as canon she loves anakin dies of a broken heart etc etc she's good.

Wookieepedia used to be a vast library of Star Wars knowledge. If you were a fanfic writer, you could do all the research you needed to do down to the most minute detail. Now, they've lost so much it's not even funny.

As I've mentioned before, Grace Randolph's "Q" Rating, has dropped four points since the debut of THE ACOLYTE. Also known as a "Q Score" or "Q Factor," the "Q" Rating measures the popularity of a person or product based on the public's familiarity with them and whether a favorable or unfavorable opinion is held. A "Q Rating" is hugely important to advertising agencies and PR firms.
Grace is in a bad place, because she is not well-known outside the "internet famous" crowd. The general public has no idea who she is. A four point drop for someone as little-known as Grace is devastating. That's why she's changed her tune: Her personal brand has been badly damaged by her support for THE ACOLYTE. Other publications and writers are probably seeing similar.

You can signal, shill and criticise the criticism all you like but if those viewers, subs and merch sales are not coming in it doesn't mean a damn thing. Grace has connections that are telling her things, take it to the bank. It's now time to change the narrative to save some face. A switcheroo character moment more sudden than Mae. This tells us the Acolyte is dead in the water. No second season.

From the acting to the story to the sets and FX, House of Dragon is 10x better than the Acolyte and yet somehow they still find a way to blame fans for their garbage show.

This Acolyte show has brought nothing but anger and division to the fan base. And no, I don't blame either side of the fans. I blame Lucasfilm and Disney, because they are so incredibly bad at their jobs that the only wait to promote their terrible product is by inciting hate and division.
But that's the thing. I don't see much division. The fan's either hate it or are just ignoring it. The only people realy defending it are the media and other people that don't even watch it either but have some kind of agenda.

Pretty clear critics are either bought/paid for OR they are letting other things getting in the way of being honest. We already suspected this but one could find no better proff than this. Their is no way in hell someone thinks any of this is good. If this wasn't Disney/Star Wars and just some series started on Netflix or Prime they would trash this
Honestly, if I could have a Rotten Tomatoes rating for movies/shows only for critics that didn’t give The Acolyte a fresh, I would go back to using that site again. I can’t really take any critic that praised this series serious or even consider their opinion on movies/shows as relevant.

I haven’t watched the show. I don’t care what’s happening in it. Who likes it or not, or anything of the kind. She may try to explain away her change of heart on the writing of the episode she doesn’t like, but trying to justify that against calling others grifters engaging in hate speech for disliking earlier episodes for the same reason will be dicey.

Andor and Rouge One were peak Disney Star Wars. I grew up on SW as a 6 year old watching it in the theater in '77. DSW needs to keep doing that.

I never considered myself a "Star Wars fan," definitely a casual, even interested, observer. The lightsaber fights were cool, but it stopped there. The unseen "imaginary" Force was lame, the names were cringe - "Luke Skywalker" sounds like "Jacob Goodboy" to me.
Anyway, my heart utterly breaks for your franchise's destruction. They really did what they set out to do, and they were going to win either way: if people liked it, they make money and spread their message, if people hated it, they can destroy something they hate anyway, and spread their message

Screen rant is actually correct IMO. This wouldn’t help a crap show like the Acolyte, but they are right that series, streaming or otherwise, NEED to be longer in order to tell a proper story. Having only 6-8 episodes for an entire series is ridiculous. When series had like 12-16 episodes per season they could tell an actual story without having to rely on a “season two.” Anime series are a good example of this as a single season for them is typically 12 episodes with a bonus 13th, which allows them to tell at least one story arc without needing a continuation for that arc.
Whats up with these shills always putting together shows where they do one thing, either with their hands or with how they speak. I suppose they're wanting the mockery. Although the majority of mockery towards shills is how many times it's obvious they don't actually write out what they're thinking about saying. Unless they are. Competently incompetent regarding saying something at one point. Like saying DIZNEE doesn't pay critics to slam a movie. Because nobody cares about what critics say. Then 3 to 5 minutes later they say if critics says something positive about a movie I'll go see it. I can live without DIZNEE and I can live without modern Hollywood.

Honestly, it looks like she tries to save some grace and audience here. If I look at her numbers, then her episode breakdowns started to go down and only her heel turn seems to have garnered her usual view numbers for these videos.

People don't watch Grace Randolph for her well informed and cultured critiques on today's media. They watch her to laugh at her moronic takes and to see just how bad she can shill for the establishment.

Yes and no.
There are imo two issues with Andor that make it less than optimal for some fans:
1) As a show it’s very slow paced and not about heroic fantasy, which makes it feel differently from typical Star Wars. While I do like this type of science fiction and it’s definitely a show for me, it’s still imo not a show for every Star Wars fan.
2) The real story doesn’t get resolved in season 1. It’s one of those shows that need a next season and that makes investing into something produced by Lucasfilm a risky business indeed. If I i.e. look at The Mandalorian, then I got two seasons that worked out well as an overarching story and I‘m ok to never watch 3+ and be done with The Mandalorian. With Andor it worries me that I may not get a decent season 2.
These are the two things I tell people before I recommend Andor, because I think they shouod be aware of that and not enter based on the wrong expectations. Everyone who is fine with this should watch the show, because it is imo very good.

Nielsen did put out their numbers for Week 2 recently, so Episode 3. It's sitting at 370M minutes which is down, and kinda makes sense as Luminate reports using a different time frame.

You know what I love about you? Just like Jenny Nicholson you guys love Disney, you love Star wars you love Indiana Jones you love Marvel you love the parks. And they've let us down. The biggest advocates. The biggest fans, the biggest people that would gladly give all of our extra income - if they produced a good product.
I appreciate what you're doing now. I would love to talk on your show as a lifelong Disney fan that's been to the park every year for 40 years.
Even shills have limits to how thin they are willing to stretch their credibility.
The acesss media has been able to get away with shilling Disney StarWars because at the end of the day good or bad the movies and shows made money/got viewership. They used the same playbook with acolyte, aka everyone who doesn't like it is a hater, racist, bigot, etc etc. Only this time the show absolutely tanked, it didnt play by the normal rule book and the old tactics didnt work. They are now left in a position of omg we're backing a so obvious its hilarious dead horse here that they don't know what to di other then at the very least be at l4aat critical on a surface level tobtry andvsave face as a "professional" critic.
These last two episodes I suspect will rather conveniently see very few reviews posted so as to not appear to be calling the show bad or affect its score and most shills will just hope it goes away.
The one upside is this debacle has proven what most everyone knew all along and thats the fact that critics are bought spokesman for the things they review and their opinions should be taken with a grain of salt. They rely on their access to make money and that automatically makes anything they say suspect.
Randolph's were the Leading Family in Moray for quite sometime, and Moray was under Ross (the Earldom of Ross and or Ross-shire present day Ross County Scotland), and we'd Bred together, that's why Ross' often enough use Randy or Randolph as a 1st Name. Ross is a Royal Pedigree from the Chiefs of the Great Clan Ross the Earls of Ross with the 1st Official Ross being the 4th Earl of Ross Hugh Ross who 1st took on the Surname, he sealed the Declaration of Arbroath and his daughter was Queen Consort to the 1st Stuart King. The Majority of Ross' are related infact, and Randy is a common enough name amongst us, but James or John and a few others are used more often. There should be an Estimated 150,000 Ross' in the Pedigree, but Probably 50,000 having a dozen of the same 1st names...
Grace is just mad that she didn't get to see and drool over Smilo's package in the sith skinny dipping pool. I have questions about every aspect of this show. Here's one I thought about that I haven't heard in the reviews. Why, if Mama 1 speaks with a British accent (YAAAASSSS YAAAAASSSS), and Mama 2 (Kill the Jedi... who would miss them?) has a Russian accent, why do the "twins" sound American? I need some spice creams. How many would be fatal? Give me two more than that.

I had dinner with Mr Mayhew and his lovely wife one time at a con in Pittsburgh. He truly was the nicest and most polite person you could ever meet.

I think that this is the most surprising thing to have happened because of the Acolyte. Even with the connections that KK has, can we be surprised that KKs legacy will go down as one of failure? And what of Lesley Headland? Will she ever get to produce anything again?

Tassi doesn't have Randolph's connections. He doesn't know what people are saying behind the scenes. Grace knows and has tried to adjust accordingly. Tassi will just stumble on to die on the Acolyte hill.
In addition to the incoherent script, amateurish dialogue, both ignorance about and disrespect for what Star Wars is, The Acolyte is grotesque. I can't even stand looking at some of the principal characters, never mind watching the series. The whole show is the antithesis of what entertainment is supposed to be. Kathleen Kennedy is the captain of the ship and she is the one who has been making all of these dreadful decisions. Kennedy encouraged Hedland to create this bizarre script. Kennedy is the one who intentionally forced what is a boys' story into a female story. It was a terrible decision and it is long past time for Kennedy to be fired.

The point of storytelling is to instill emotion in the audience by showing them something meaningful about the world. The Acolyte does neither.

Grace still stands by her positive reviews of episodes 1-6. She doesn't believe she was wrong about those. Don't know if that proves she genuinely just has questionable taste (and she does have the right to like whatever she likes) or if she's afraid that saying she was wrong would be a show of weakness that would send her detractors into a feeding frenzy.
