It's wild to think it's only been 7 years since The Last Jedi. It feels like forever. A long slow death of a once bright galaxy far, far away. Mandalorian briefly gave us some false hope, unfortunately. Rogue One and Andor are the like the exceptions that prove the rule: Disney era LucasFilm doesn't know how to make good Star Wars movies...unless Tony Gilroy or Jon Favreau have complete control.
The mandalorian was about fatherhood and honor, the acolyte was about lesbian space witches and virtue signaling. Of course one appeals to the majority of the fan base (men 18-50).
There were many people who watched the original movie in the late 1970s. They are now over 50. I think the demographic for Star Wars pushes the upper end out.

I knew Star Wars was over once I saw the first movie under Disney. It felt like a reskin of the original Star Wars. Zero creative talent, just a bunch of hacks repurposing the original. Like others, I only know what's going on now because of channels like this because I have lost all interest and I have ABSOLUTELY no faith that Disney has any clue what they are doing with it.

Only ever watched The Ewok movies (was really young), 4-6, 1-3, and Rogue 1 (to see how they got the plans). Oh, and played SWTOR for a few years when it came out. Besides those, I never had any interest in anything else Star Wars.
The few others that might have caught my interest, just didn't seem worth a full watch to me. Then you have stuff like this, which I am not gonna lie, I like seeing people make fun of.

That's also not including the amounts of money spent on the Disney+ shows, which aren't entirely filmed in the UK.
The estimates also usually don't include the near billion USD spent on Galaxy's Edge upgrades to Parks and the Galactic Star Cruiser Hotel which has been closed, which often get sidelined or moved out of the sales/projections, because different Disney departments made props, attractions, research, clothing, and so on, not Lucasfilm.
They also spent hundreds of millions on R&D to make lightsaber and VR technology for the Park/Hotel guests, which may still happen, including walking-VR pads and so on.
But yeah, knowing what they spent on production, TFA was ~$500 million USD, and not $250 million USD. The money it made, barely broke even on ticket sales.
While this doesn't include streaming or PVOD/SVOD sales/royalties, it's a mixed bag of how much was made, given that Disney will not show those numbers. They would be liable if they did.
Likely more if you factor in the mech that just sits on the shelves years after the movies came out

As the realization of modern-audience-Star Wars was settling in my soul, Jedi: Fallen Order came along and reminded me “That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for.” I haven’t bothered with Jedi Survivor, even when it’s on sale. D+ sub has been lapsed for years. I just don’t care anymore and I don’t know what would have to happen for that to change, even if I were to hear from everyone that this new thing is redeeming.
I only follow Star Wars news and channels like Pro’s… to lament and mock what once was, I guess? 🤔 My dad watched Star Wars in theaters in 1977, and he was done the day he saw Han get murdered by his own son.

When I watch movies with my big family, women don't want to watch science fiction and men don't want to watch romantic movies. It's a fact that any normal person knows, a marketing specialist should know this, but when ideological dogma is above reality the result is always a disaster and if they continue to insist the disaster will continue.

@@rickbase833 The movies and shows are advertising for the parks. They may not have a direct impact but people don't get excited for attractions based on most newer properties like Galaxy's Edge. Also, the value of the stock is half of what it was since 2022 when Iger came back. You don't count that as a loss?
The average stock price for 2022 was 115, the average for 2024 so far has been 109. I wouldnt exactly call that half

It was because of him and Palpatine/Sidious meddling with the Force and the Force responding to them trying to create a perfect Darkside use and created Anakin to counter them as the perfect lightside user, at least that's what he was suppose to be until the Sith meddled with things but in the end Anakin did what he was created to do which is destroy the Sith and bring balance to the Force
Anakin was created to bring balance to BOTH sides of the Force. At that point the Jedi had become so fearful and dogmatic that they only wanted to train children because they were far easier to groom into becoming mindless enforcers of the corrupt Republic's will.

I have a simple question. if Plaguis in G-Cannon spent a lifetime researching with the force and life to discover his greatest powers. Now that the witches are supposedly creating life, unless they simply went and found a man and mated with him, then transferred the eggs to the alien woman, which would line up with what they claimed in one of the first episodes. The force basically being forcing themself on a man in this scenario.
OK lets say they used the force, the real force, to create life. Here is my question. How did they learn to do that in the first place? Where did the knowledge for it come from? Why? were they researching how to create life? why? women can literally bear life if they mate with someone. why would they do this? they have a literal natural process for it. So...were they just a bunch of force scientists out on a moon? because that's not how they are described or shown. they are literally cackling women in robes in the moonlight performing crazy bonding rituals and tattooing each other.
Wheres the part that shows how they created the knowledge or researched with the force to develop new powers?
Why didn't this show actually spend the first season being about developing who the witches were, what they actually believed in, why, how they did what they do, who they were, how they lived.
If this is about a new faction. why did it lack the ability to world build them?

Know this. Disney knows exactly what you were watching when you are watching and if you finished it. In my protest of the acolyte, I binged the Andor series and started watching rogue one. Got midway through rogue one went to bed. And today I have an email from Disney+ telling me not to forget to watch the rest of rogue one. So the lesson is when you stop clicking or watching a series they know it instantly unless you are a content creator that has to review this stuff. Do not click on anything acolyte on Disney+ at all, not even in curiosity, not even to see the plagues scene.
