It's not that I enjoy Disney failing, but I am so tired of the BS of Igor and Kennedy destroying a company brand and other brands they have acquired that I grew up on. I truly want Disney to succeed, but the woke BS has to go or it just needs to go down in flames - I too would rather, "...see it dead than to become what it is turning into".

At this point Disney is an ideological junkie taking hit after hit of the woke pipe and fans keep trying to tell them to stop or they’ll die but they just don’t care. Want to know what’s telling? My mom watches a kid, he’s a good kid, and she wants me to be a male role model for him (I’m not the best but I’ve been responsible for my dads care while my sister furthers her career) she plans to take this kid to universal. That’s how far the company has fallen.

Here’s the thing Disney forgets most young families don’t have the money to go for holiday. It’s grandma and grandpa who take them to Disney. I am a grandma and no way are we paying for kids/ grandchildren to go to Disney we don’t have money to waste. We are taking them to the beach this year.

So true. I want to share Disney with my Grandkids, but not the crap they have been pushing. Its not want I want my Grandkids to be exposed to. Disney was and is supposed to be an entertainment venue for Family. Truly it beaks my heart to see Disney in the state it is. We are going to Universal in 2025 already planning it. I think a huge part of it besides the money issue especially since we here in SoCal can get huge discounts on tickets, is the negative impact their woke ideology has had. We had a condo 3 miles from the park in SoCal that we sold last year. We had it for the last 10 years .
Our huge family and network of friends would often stay there if it wasn’t taken up by air B and B. So as an investment we saw the trend . Once Disney started with their woke nonsense, we just all decided we weren’t going to support a company that wants to push an agenda down Americans throats. I can see Disney going bankrupt. Go woke….Go broke.

Never been to Disney, but I used to go to King's Dominion every year. My favorite thing to do there was wait till dusk, when people started leaving. Either by myself, or with a good friend of mine, go to "The Grizzly". It's an older wooden coaster, and not as popular as Volcano or whatever new thing they pumped out every couple years. The lines were so short at that time of day, sometimes I would get 10+ rides in a row without ever getting off.
I would just look at the attendants, and wave toward the exit, like, do I need to go get in line again? And they would just smile and gesture to stay where I was. I did that every year for a few years, back when my father used to get access to reduced price tickets that included a fried chicken dinner at a pavilion they set up. It was one of his perks for being a retired member of the Carpenter's Union.

Decades later, Disney, hoping Star Wars would bring them out of their slump, paid George a billion dollars for his creation. When Epic Universe opens, it does NOT matter if it takes one month, six months or a year to start raking in the guests at top speed. When the very first guest steps inside, time will not matter. It's all uphill from here and Universal will have a surefire hedge against Disney. I'm praying there are no big hiccups before Opening Day. Universal can NOT eff this up. Their future could depend on it. This is the day. This is what Universal spent 20+ years doing: lurking in the background, silently chipping at Disney's foundation with a dull chisel. But the foundation IS crumbling and Disney will fall. Universal finally has upgraded to a carbide chisel and $120 Stiletto brand hammer. The (foolish?) stockholders and blinder than bat pixie dusters can shout and cry all they like. It won't change Bob Eager's eagerness to wreck everything. It's already starting and no amount of time and money will fix it. Mark my words
Disney is dead. I won't be surprised at all if the stock tumbles another $10 a share. I wouldn't bet even $25 a share on their stock.

It's so sad to see something we once loved crumble before our eyes. Disney has been important to my family. It is to a lot of families. My Dad grew up very poor in the South. He didn't even have indoor plumbing. He would go to his Aunt's house because she had a TV, and he'd watch Wonderful World of Color. My Dad vowed that someday, he'd have enough money to take his kids to Disneyland. Long story short, he worked his way through college, got a good job and we went to Disney World for the first time in 1987, when I was 6. Then we went pretty much every other year. Finally, when graduated high school, my Dad took me to Disneyland. We went on all the rides he saw on TV as a kid. It was magical and one of my all-time fave memories with my Dad. It breaks my heart that Disney has totally lost its way. I was in the College Program, and I feel like every decision maker and higher up there needs to retake the Traditions class. Anyone who has worked there before Chapek and Iger knows what I am sayin'. Disney is now devoid of tradition and what's actually important.

I remember being terrified of Injun Joe's cave as something brushed against me in the dark, and I screamed so loudly. Never again. The kids were there too, and they laughed so hard because it was part of the cave and in the dark, I freaked out. Frontierland was always my favorite area and I rode the riverboat every single visit. I have so many childhood memories of Tom Sawyers Island, running around it with my older brother while my parents rested at the restaurant. I'm the only one left to keep their memories, and those fun family times alive.
It breaks my heart to hear it's going to be paved over.
My daughter's favorite thing to do in the whole part was riding on the Liberty Belle. Every time we went while she grew up, we scheduled a "down day" for my wife to rest, and lounge around the hotel, while I took my daughter to MK and we would ride the Liberty Belle at least 5 times. After every time we'd ride anything else she wanted to ride the LB again.
Do they have to get rid of the Belle? Can't they at least keep it there and maybe turn it into a restaurant? At least it would still be there. If not, put it somewhere else, so people can still ride it. Doesn't matter where, my daughter would find it and want to ride it over and over.

They want to create a New Orleans area, why not on that Island? There would be room for a couple of Princess and the Frog themed attractions, and the Liberty Belle riverboat would be perfect. Instead, they are going to remove trees and water, and build an attraction based on an IP that made less money on each subsequent installment. The plan is to shut down the railroad to build this new Cars area until the 2030s. I'm going to guess once the railroad suspends operations, the Disney Bean Counters will decide it's not cost effective to run the steam powered trains anymore.

I had visited Disney World most years from 1977 when I was 12 until 2016. We wanted to take our granddaughters to DW in 2021. But when they had openly bragged about the sexualization of its children's themes and inserting politics into the parks, we totally turned away from Disney in every fashion. When our 4 kids were young (their 28-33 now), from 2001-2013 we interchanged Disney season passes and Universal/SeaWorld passes every other year. Even though we live in NC, we loved going and had a flexible enough schedule to go several times a year. We LOVED it! Even though we loved both park resorts at the time, we always felt Universal was a better overall value, ride for ride and dollar for dollar. It's a MUCH easier theme park resort to get around, you can walk everywhere. That is exponentially more so now with Disney's horrible actions. When Epic Universe opens next year (we all will be there Oct. 2025), it will probably be Disney's death nail. We also love/loved attending our local park (Carowinds in Charlotte) with our annual passes there. Our children will not take their families to Disney. Even though we are Conservative, we really don't care what Disney's political affiliation is; just keep it out of the parks. We go to get away from all of the garbage of the World (like politics) and for ALL people to enjoy the classic attractions that have been loved for generations, not be relentlessly lectured to 24/7. Anyway, sorry for rambling, lol. It's just breaks my heart and angers me that Disney's execs are willing to forever destroy one of the most beloved and uniting institutions in history and tell all of us who have supported them for generations to screw off. I totally agree with your premise. God bless.

Negative space being where nothing is happening and positive space being where something is happening. A good example often cited is the train scene in Spirited Away. Rivers of America is “Ma” for Magic Kingdom. Ya it’s not the most exciting area of the park but that’s a good thing. The park needs a place where people can take a breath. My absolute favorite area in the park is the gazebo on the island with the rocking chairs. One of the best places to relax for a minute amidst the madness. Roger Penske could fix Disney. When you walk into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, you see upgrades but they don’t obliterate the past. It’s nostalgic but not out of date. It’s contemporary but honors its past. It’s absolutely spotless and the service is great as is the show.
Of anyone, he could fix Disney.

His resume speaks for itself. He hired the great Rick Mears to race the Indy 500 and he won for the FOURTH time. Even though equipment quality issues cost him the 1994 race, he cannot be dismissed. Penske didn't build a racing empire by lazing around in the back. In 1994, his drivers (Al Unser Jr. Paul Tracy, Emerson Fittipaldi) won 12 of the 16 races on the Indy Car schedule along with the Indy 500.

I'm a 54 year old with travel ahead of me. Nostalgia of WDW from childhood. I would love to return, but I won't. In a nutshell, it seems like Disney is catering to vloggers and media, instead of a family fan base. Foreigners used to flock to WDW Florida. We will have to travel to Disneyland or abroad to get the original magic. I suggest they reconsider bringing back a Walt Disney dream theme. Bring back the original magic. Well if Walt doesn't matter, it's gonna die as a business.

I’ve been reading Mouse Tales by David Koenig( very outdated but worth a read) and it just saddens me even further reading all the accounts of all the things Walt did to ensure the quality of the park( making sure the everyone received the same “show” no matter how busy or slow the park was, walking the park himself daily looking for any little problem or issue that needed fixed, realizing when changes to the park were negative and spending the money to reverse the change). It’s so sad how little the company cares about the experience these days.

Roy Disney jr. was the last true Disney alive to keep Walt and Roy’s dream alive. I believe he fought till the end to keep it as we remember and loved. Now I believe most of the Disney family members don’t care or became too woke and probably have giving too much power to greddy ceo’s that they will watch Disney world dying a slow death.

Disney’s concept art is so vague and abstract as to be useless at depicting what will actually be built.
Disney’s concept art is only useful as a misleading marketing tool to drum up excitement at what will never actually be built.
Disney used to have beautiful hand drawn concept art that actually looked like the concept being depicted.
Now they just have extremely vague computer generated concept art that looks AI generated.

They could take it over to Fort Wilderness along with the other stuff from Tom Sawyer's island and create an awesome playground/exploration area for kids, like it's supposed to be. Most of the people at FW are the kind of Disney people who appreciate the outdoors, Disney nostalgia, and ask that. It will be used and appreciated there, and might even be busier than it was in the parks.

I feel like I’m watching in real time as they make the exact same mistakes they made to “old EPCOT” when they got rid of Horizons and all those other classic attractions. At the time, a big chunk of the guests and fans were excited for new things. Now, everyone looks back at that version of EPCOT with such nostalgia for what once was… why would they do that to MK too?!
I’m not opposed to the parks changing and growing, and neither was Walt… which is exactly why he bought so much land in Florida. So they could expand and grow them instead of being faced with the realities of having to remove things in order to create new things like they were faced with at Disneyland.
Has Disney Corp forgotten what’s on the plaque at the entrance to Magic Kingdom? Just erase all the “yesterday” bits and put up a new plaque, I guess. Forget what Walt dreamed for that park 😔

Things just aren't adding up! They ruin all the IPs they bought or owned that came with a built in fan base, a loyal fan base that went to all the movies and bought all the merchandise. They remove or ruin all the things that people loved about them. Luckily, these fans tell you what they like and what you should do, plus let you know what they didn't like in the previous movie and how to fix it. Disney didn't even have to do anything because these are special fans willing to help and tell Disney what to do in order to be successful. Disney turns around and attacks these people, insulting them and calling them terrible names. Not only do they not listen to their own customers, but purposely do story lines and add things they know will make their customers angry and stop coming to see their garbage movies! And Disney does this over and over, going to war with their own customers!! You don't have to have any business experience to see that this is a terrible way to run a business!! Logic would tell me Disney paid so much money for a company like Lucus film is because it comes with a built in fan base! But Disney did everything it possibly could to chase away that incredibly lucrative fan base by insulting them and calling them names! I mean common sense would be to hire people who are experts in Star Wars and know all the lore. Instead Lucas Films hires Lesley Headlin, Harvy Weinsteins assistant! As if that's not bad enough, she has never seen a Star Wars movie. Things just aren't adding up! Nobody is this stupid!! It appears to me that these things are being done on purpose! And now you have this new parks situation! They are deliberately bulldozing peoples favorite places in the parks!! Things are just not adding up!! I have been saying for several years now that it appears that this is all being done on purpose! I don't know why or by who, but this all looks to be deliberate! Nothing is making any sense! It's like the people running Disney now get some kind of perverse pleasure destroying so many things that people really like or liked! Personally, I don't care about Disney at all. But I do understand being passionate about a movie franchise or a favorite place, but I also find this all fascinating because it doesn't make any sense! My brain is telling me that there's some kind of conspiracy going on at Disney to purposely destroy the company. But I have not been able to come up with a reason. But Bob knows, he has been the puppet master behind all of this!

It’s sad I remember the year Epcot opened. I read everything up to opening day & drug my mom from the Midwest to Epcot. We walked around in the heat with no shade, my poor mom got blisters on her feet but I was thrilled. My mom & I and an aunt went to Disney World Magic Kingdom too. My now husband & I went to Epcot several times it was fun & different with all the different countries. I have those great memories. My beloved mom & aunt are both gone, my hubby & I are much older now (oldies).
We have gone to Universal several times but stopped going to Disney when it started changing with its woke group. We won’t return to Disney I will keep my memories & Disney & Epcot will stay like it was years ago in my mind. We will return to Universal & are making plans for Epic Universe in 2026 and I feel the great excitement of a kid again, a kid on the inside an older on the outside.
Walt had a great vision and it’s so sad that will be lost and people will not experience the great things he thought up and the things I and others got to enjoy.
You guys always do a great job.

"Paved paradise and put up a parking lot". This will absolutely destroy WDW. My Father worked at the Burbank Studios while Disneyland was being built back in the 50's (rest his soul). Disney has been a huge part of my family's life since the 50s. Yes, WDW was and is Walt's dream and it pains me to see the culture of ignorance that have taken it upon themselves to decide what we're supposed to be offended by but also have the authority to erase the face that so many of us have enjoyed. I've been shorting Disney stock since April of this year. I have to admit, i can almost buy the Disney company myself lol Epic universe is opening next year and i'm willing to bet it'll take Disney until 2030-2035 to even acknowledge EPIC as a competitor, Disney fans, this is going to be a long, painful road.

After all look the land they have around the MK and their not gonna use that for there 5th gate? Unbelievable.

it's called a "narcissistic injury". and while there are MANY narcissists in leadership positions at WDW, the problem is that Iger has gotten injured by Walt. by which i mean that Walt became progressively more successful while Iger, who was sucessful at first, has started face planting.
    .
therefore demostrating that Walt was "better" than the narcissist. which was not something Walt was trying to do. but which the narcissist is still enraged by.
    .
so now the narcissist will spend the rest of his career REFUSING TO EMULATE his successful predecessor. because if he rights the company by following the principles Walt laid out, all he has done is admit that Walt is "better" than he is.

I would love to have a California Adventure caliber Cars Land at the Magic Kingdom or elsewhere at Disney World, but not at the expense of the Rivers of America.
Not every Disney World guest has the ability or desire to also visit Disneyland so having a similar Cars Land at Disney World is not an issue to me.
I love the water, lush landscaping, and peaceful, parklike atmosphere of the Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America and would hate to see it destroyed and replaced.
I’ve always wished that Fantasyland and Tomorrowland had something similar to the Rivers of America as they both have large areas that are ugly, poorly designed, unpleasant, sparsely landscaped concrete and metal jungles.
It’s stupid to destroy the scenic and gorgeous Rivers of America when there is plenty of space to build Cars Land elsewhere.
If Cars Land must replace any existing attractions, it should replace the lackluster Storybook Circus or equally terrible Tomorrowland Speedway.
I don’t care about the removal of Tom Sawyer’s Island as an attraction as long as the island itself remains beautiful, tranquil, and befitting of the area, but I do care about losing the ambiance of the Rivers of America.
The Rivers of America is my favorite location at the Magic Kingdom in terms of ambiance.
Destroying Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America will be the dumbest, worst, most inexplicable blunder in Disney parks history.

I visited Disneyland California a few months ago. The thing that baffled me the most, and ruined the experience, was having to micromanage an app every 10 min to check for fastpasses times that would randomly change from 1 hour away to sometimes 7 hours. That is an insult to a customer, and it ruins the whole idea of going to a theme park and having fun, not worrying about trivial things and just exploring and creating your own experience. Specially considering that people come from all over the world and pay A LOT of money to get in (it is the most expensive park around the Los Angeles area). I really can't believe Disney nowadays. I'd rather visit Universal once than having to get stressed at Disney 10 times.
