Hi, Great informative video that you. How do you keep function 08.00 - V-EFF (real current speed) to display. I done few time it's not displaying. Thanks in advance.
You can do one of two things: When entering hidden menu, while you press and hold the trip reset button turn on the engine. Once you got the engine working, go to the 08.00 and it should stay on the display. You can also recode your instrument cluster to have the digital speedometer as one of the trip computer options. Here's how it looks: ua-cam.com/video/QXiFEPAzvMI/v-deo.html
oh, OK. You need diagnostic tool for that. Instrument cluster diagnostic menu only shows data related to the cluster itself. There's not much that you can change with it. And battery information is stored in CAS module.
Hello, Great video!! Thank you!! It works very well!! I have just replaced the front brake pads on a 2015 BMW E84 X1, It presently says I must do the service in 470km. I tried to reset the front brake pad warning but it does not reset, but stays at 470km. I have first unlocked with the VIN and then gone through the steps holding the button on the left and then using the BC to get "Reset" fron brake pads and hold BC until the little clock shows, but no reset can be done. Must I wait until I have actually reached the full km value (no more km remaining) before the service and then do a reset? Or is there something I do wrong? Thank you, Jake
Please make sure that you replaced pads & sensors. Those are sold separately. If you still have old wear sensor, then you can't reset this service message.
@@mrfixpl is this right? the car knows if i changed the sensor or not? because the sensor is in perfect condition if you change the break pads in time. if it's true....then interchange the back and front sensors :D should be ok then, no?
How to calibrate the avg consumption display? Mine is showing 0.6 liters less than the real consumption is. (Better yet, how to change the real consumption to match the display? ;-)
It will work in most BMW cars. There are some differences, so please check on of my tutorials that I made in in Fxx car: ua-cam.com/video/MCWlM-T72fc/v-deo.html
2013 E84. Speedo reads 100km, when actual road speed is 94km. Can this be set to read true? In New Zealand, we prepay a road distance user fee. Every 1000 km purchased only gets me 940km. I would like accuracy, or even a setup to read short, for greater real distance...
@@PaulSmith-eb2eg for anyone reading this in the future, the speedo is intentionally set about 5% faster than actual, while the odometer/tripmeter is more accurate and close to the actual distance. Why? You can google it. But if you want to get more accurate speedo reading and essentially cheat the distance (odometer lower than actual distance), easiest way is to go with a bigger tyre in diameter. Go up a size or 2 if possible.
This is typically a wheel RPM calibration issue (for instance, when you change the tires on the vehicle and they don't exactly match the OEM ones. You need to either recalibrate them, or you need to adjust the correction factor (see my comment, above)

This hidden menu is related only to the instrument cluster, not any other module in the car.
Just curious here, can you check the transmission fluid temperature when replacing with new?
I don't think instrument cluster shows this data. You would need diagnostic tool for that. Check my review of CGSulit that I posted couple days ago.

Unfortunately no. There are some ways of checking it with diagnostic interface but even those methods are not 100% sure.

You can also recode your instrument cluster to have the digital speedometer as one of the trip computer options. Here's how it looks: ua-cam.com/video/QXiFEPAzvMI/v-deo.html
@@mrfixpl Great I will try tomorrow. Thank you for your quick respond.
Is there a way to display the coolant temperature constantly?
Hi. Very helpful video. Is it possible to reset the battery trough this hidden menu? Tks
Hi, what do you mean by "reset the battery"?
I read that when you replace the battery you should proceed the battery reset... something like to inform the car that the battery is new...
oh, OK. You need diagnostic tool for that. Instrument cluster diagnostic menu only shows data related to the cluster itself. There's not much that you can change with it. And battery information is stored in CAS module.
the carly app with and obd can do what your asking
Hello,
Great video!!
Thank you,
Jake
Please make sure that you replaced pads & sensors. Those are sold separately. If you still have old wear sensor, then you can't reset this service message.
@@mrfixpl is this right? the car knows if i changed the sensor or not? because the sensor is in perfect condition if you change the break pads in time. if it's true....then interchange the back and front sensors :D should be ok then, no?
Hey guys, the coolant temp in my e84 hovers at around 95 to 105 deg celcius. Is it normal?
Thank you BMW X1 2009? PLEASE
thank you so much
How to calibrate the avg consumption display? Mine is showing 0.6 liters less than the real consumption is. (Better yet, how to change the real consumption to match the display? ;-)
There's a way with hidden menu to do that. I will make a video about that soon.
Can we turn on/off the PDC from the hidden menus...? My x1 E84 doesn't have pdc button and my PDC now stops working, which previously worked.
No. There is a sensor issue.
should this apply to f25 ?
It will work in most BMW cars. There are some differences, so please check on of my tutorials that I made in in Fxx car: ua-cam.com/video/MCWlM-T72fc/v-deo.html
@@mrfixpl thanks! appreciate it!
Mine shows Menu 1.3 Cod dia 0009h 08d0h is this normal?
👍 very nice !
I can get speed reading in 08.01 but it’s in KM not MpH
Try setting the appropriate units in *11.01* or *11.03*
Why am I not seeing the video???
Tnx 👍
How can you know the Code?
You need to add last 5 digits of your VIN.
Thx
