I have only used separate lines. Best is if you can hang old license plates tin can lids, etc. on the wire every so often. If you are fencing in animals, and need to train a new batch to the fence, spread a teaspoon of peanut button on those ornaments (turn off the fence charger first, and don't forget to turn it back on after). The dangling objects attract attention, helping them see the fence. Sometimes that is enough to stimulate their curiosity. If not, the smell of peanut butter usually gets them to sniff and lick at the license plate. That teaches them not to mess with the fence. In addition, a license plate or two on a length of fence acting as a gate across the road is helpful to prevent folks driving tractors, motorcycles, atvs, etc. thru the fence.
I can't tell you how much I love and appreciate your videos. It's really important for people to do things themselves nowadays because you can't depend on anyone in your videos help enable a lot of people to be self-sufficient.
Great video, just one suggestion. I know this is temporary fence so it’s not as critical, but it’s best practice to use galvanized ground rods since most electric fence wire is galvanized. Using two dissimilar metals will cause galvanic corrosion and ultimately lead to loss of connection or very poor connection at the ground. Just for future reference.
I think for deer you’ll need a six foot tall double fence about 3ft gap in between so the deer won’t jump over not sure on the gap ft but it’s better to do this cause they will jump over one fence but if you have another they fear getting stuck
Hopefully i clicked the link right, i was actually just about to pull the trigger on electric netting from vevor and was going to look back in your videos for a affiliate link, much easier this way! Thanks as always for an informative video!
Premier 1 has netted fences and chargers strong enough to run them. You can buy the fence by species lol. We mostly just use 2 wires and a a few solar chargers. Works for our horses, pigs, goats, and keeps our livestock guardian dogs in and the wild pigs, neighbors cows, stray dogs, and coyotes out. We have some seriously thick hot wire around the property perimeter (came with the property) that has wiring run underground and goes to our tackroom where the electrical box is. Has a seperate switch for it. We dont have it reconnected back up to a electic charger because we haven't really needed it. The animals seem to respect our solar chargers and we get lots of storms that knock out power and the solar will still be working.
As a cheap -a farmer I have picked up a lot of used /removed wood highline poles they have a copper wire running up along them i ground my fencer to them and even running a 2nd wire (sometimes barbed wire some smooth) along underneath the hot where an animal will put its head between them and get both wires i have also used the Plastic pipe that oil company's use to transfer water long distances (they abandoned MILES of it in our area) is about a 1/4 in thick so a good insulator for t-post corners i admit it i like to do some stuff Cheap:)
That bull is in for a memorable experience. I seen a bull pee on an electric line. Didn't know a Bull could scream... and the look in it's eyes... yeah, it never came near the fence again.
As of right, I learned how to not be on the fence but I wasn't told not to be on the ground rod next to the house where the controller was , major ouch for the little Joe 😔
Dogs learn fast, at least if the dog is smarter than your average rock. Mine got bit on the nose by the fence one time. A loud yelp, and now she won't get closer than about 3 feet to it. This is one of the reasons fences are pulsed and not energized continuously. The other has to do with how the charger electronics boost the voltage (takes time to charge the capacitor, then when it reaches a certain point it discharges into the fence).
When that garden has been harvested you could put your chickens out there and they would be save from predators. I know you talked about not wanting to put netting up because of your wind. Try taking fishing line and zigzag it across your garden. It messes with the birds vision and they don’t know where to land.

In any case, such county commissioners shall provide truck transportation for the impounded animals.
Poor practice in how you ran your ground. If the first clamp fails you lose both grounds. Better to run a single wire so if one fails it doesn't affect the other ground.
Explain that as two wires are clamped into a single connection??? It's not the first ground failing, it's the connection of the two by clamp and highly unlikely. A simple twist of the two wires together improves this.
@@TKCL you already know that fence is about to feature prominently in several of the donos in your next live stream. Gona be up there with the belly flop donos

I think that bull needs to go to freezer camp! He’s always coming over to your house , this would make it his permanent home!
I came here to say that. He’s become a nuisance and he’s damaged your crops. He’s beef.
I wish it was that easy. I don't want tensions with neighbors or legal issues. I do have rights, but you open up a can of worms when doing that.
@@TKCLactually the owner of the bull is fully liable if he can’t keep him off your property. At least that was the law when I lived on a farm.

Andrew pull a long piece of green grass an lay it on the electric netting, you'll feel the water in the grass vibration.
Nice! Didn't know that!
@@TKCLthat how I used to check if the electrical fence was on. Yea you’ll get a little bite but not like if you grab it direct.
Hopefully the section that is still rolled up isn't electrifying your normal fence. It seems like it was touching
It isn't close at all. A several inch gap is left.

I hope so too
Rookie... you didn't even zap yourself once. ;-)
You know it is just a matter of time before Ruger gets zapped. Neighbor needs to hire a cowboy.
We've had professional cowboys here twice. Both times were a complete failure. Twice the bull was darted and it failed. I'm so over it.

Quick question: has Ruger "tested" it yet (lol)?
Nope, he tends to leave things alone.
Hi, Andrew! This was quite interesting. Here in North Carolina ground rods and posts are so hard to drive through our rocky, red clay compacted soil.
We are very fortunate here with our soil.
Did you forget an entrance/exit access point?
Nope, first rod is tied up with a loop in the rope. Remove it, pull the first fiberglass rod and walk in.
How are you going to keep Ruger from touching the fence?
So far he hasn't got near it. Fences don't seem to interest him.

Could you use that sort of fence to temporarily stop neighbor's cows from visiting you? I mean, if it works and is not expensive:)))
It would be very expensive to run our entire property. I need to invest in a good wire fence.
Free range steak!
If nothing else, you got some content from the rogue bull.
Not the content I want. I spent more than I'll ever make.

Not yet
