That fence should stand the test of time. I built a wooden privacy fence back in 1995 with my 10 ft posts on 6 ft centers with 2 - 80 lb bags wet poured around each post. We subsequently moved a few years later. After Hurricane Michael in 2018, I drove through the old neighborhood and my fence was the only one still standing in the entire neighborhood. It had some damage from falling trees, but it didn’t blow over.

I rebuilt our fence last year this exact same way. A word of warning, when these fence slats get wet, those screws WILL snap off at the head. You are better off simply nailing each slat. We're in Oklahoma and the wind and water put a beating on the fences. I used deck screws as well and at least 10% have snapped off and the heads popped out of the wood. Just a word of warning.

Hey Andrew... You tend to build STRONG. I like that. Another good job. I do have a question/comment though. There is an awful lot of "sail area" there. In a strong 'blow' that fence will act just like a giant sail. It'll catch every bit of the wind with no way to "vent" it. It probably would have been better (maybe.??) to place your picket boards on alternating sides of the fence..... sort of like this --_--_--_--_ .. You could have overlapped the visible edges of each picket so the fence appeared solid, yet would allow the wind a way through the fence. Would have taken a lot of the wind load off of the fence.
But, whatever.... It's a very high quality build.
    Happy Easter my friend.!

While the pretty side does look pretty, the back of the fence is ugly. You see that from all points of your property. I'd have put one board on one side and spaced it one board before nailing the second board. Then on the back side, I'd put a board to cover the gap. That way, the fence looks the same on all sides. In addition to looks, it provides space for air movement that is now blocked. (That might be a blessing!) I don't know if I described it well. In any case, the "lived-in" space is going to look spectacular when you are through with the gravel, sinks, flower beds, etc. I also love that you're going to put in a swing! Hard work, but well done! I can't wait for you to stain the front fence!

Just a thought on one thing,
It's hard to get a sense of depth on video but it seems a back door would be desirable , I agree it would be a weak point unless over built at which point it's probably simply not worth it (Especially after the fact) but as a practical compromise perhaps just a functional hinged pass through access cut out panel or even a full size 'door' for objects even with the three horizontal 2x6's still in place that you could actually squeeze / crawl through if nessasary or desired for any reason? It may look a bit hokey and you may choose not to share it but it would definitely be beneficial for convenience and functionality imho.
    Or not ?

I suggested staggering the slats/pickets on either side of the horizontal boards so there's gaps for the wind to go through, while enjoying privacy, if this goes down I hope you give it a ponder (if you haven't already) This looks pretty darned stout though!

Not sure if you mentioned it. If you have a sprayer, add varnish or a stain to extend the life of the wood fence. Yes, that leveler would come in handy. I bounced over to check on Amazon on the price. Currently unavailable, but there are others or similar anywhere from $30-$75. Worth the investment.

Since you don’t need city type privacy, did you consider alternating the pickets on both sides of the fence. Allows for a breeze and less pressure during hurricane.
