To some degree yes, but if i was the CIA i wouldn't trust a person too narcisistic or sociopathic. Don't forget that narcisism goes on a spectrum and everybody has this trait, many don't develop it enough or weren't forced to adopt it as a defence mechanism against people. Bustamante said (if it's true) that the CIA specifically employs people with paranoid thinking, people who are aware of their surroundings etc and to a degree are overthinkers. A complete narcisist may not be too aware and be too confident. Don't get me wrong, many people working for CIA or high level police jobs are certainly sociopaths or narcisists, but personally i don't think they have the ideal profile for these jobs. Also narcisists and sociopaths contrary to the general belief can become very fragile if pressured in a certain way, the CIA can't risk investing tons of money into a person if they are not almost 100% sure it has a balanced personality.

The way he describes the essential difference between feelings and logical thought was perfect - exactly the point of therapy and the meat of deciphering why we behave the way we do

I like this host. Lex, is it? I'm a lot like you. I am kinda quiet and shy and don't make eye contact. People often assume certain things about me like I'm slow or on drugs or scared or something but it's not true and I can see you're the same. We are just confident in a different way than overtly confident people. Honestly, this is why I'm subscribing.
I think the point is - is not to look and act like a spy, but to dissemble your personality to the point of another not even suspecting you are a spy …
Very good interview. There is strength in numbers, and the more numbers we have tied to us, the stronger and more confident we feel overall. Hence the reason why children from broken homes wander around seeking a tribe to connect to. We all long to be part of a family (gang, club, team). It becomes a core aspect of our identity and perspective on life. Enlightening discussion. I appreciate it.
Bro lex is having a fuckin blast sitting there pretending to ask all these questions like he's not a project of the KGB to prove they can fully infiltrate our culture.
This man is obviously very socially intelligent. I'm curious about the pipeline and training. They are looking for something, not just intelligence...like grabbing the person who will be a successful criminal before they commit their first crime...
I love that he asks questions that I feel I would ask. I love Joe Rogan but I enjoy these clips more cuz they have a more raw feel to them and I’m sitting there next to both of them rather than listening to Joe

99.9999% of CIA field officers are not chosen!the main prerequisite is Earn a bachelor's degree. ... Consider earning a master's degree. ... Become fluent in one or two foreign languages. ... Gain relevant experience. ... Complete the required testing and medical examinations. ... Finish an internal training program.GPA 3.7 the qualifications, you probably realize it's pretty tough to get into the CIA, especially if you want to be one of the 10% of CIA officers who are field operatives. Your chances will be much better if you've first been honest with yourself about who you are and what you're capable of. Things that qualify you for a CIA career, they are some of the most helpful: Technology. ... Business. ... Political science and other social sciences. ... International studies. ... @@yourmomma3132 I meant his personality, but didn’t clarify, bc I think that’s what they look for fundamentally. All else can be taught, so I’m talking about why they chose him, for that job and not another multi-cultured bilingual vet. Bc there’s a lot.
I find it hard to believe that this guy would be telling anything truthful. He said it himself. And he knows ALOT of classified and crazy info. And the CIA would not like him giving away training techniques to our adversaries.
When he says in people's souls to be with other people, I can state that's not me, the best part of my life, was when I was deemed essential and I was able to do my job, driving. I found the most satisfying peace, when no one was around because they were all locked down in their homes. Then they let you back out and my world changed because I had to have you around again. The whole world is too full of themselves and we're just fed BS Some must think they're really important or their shit doesn't stink, I don't I'm only a man. At night when I'm alone, I know I'm fine, because no one wants anything and no one is demanding anything from me. I feel peace by myself.
Yet here you are, feeling the need to communicate this with hypothetical people lol. I feel like if your statement were true, the desire to tell these thoughts to someone, anyone, wouldn't exist in the first place. If you've never experienced any relationship where you didn't feel like the other person was demanding something from you, then I'm sorry you've had a rough past, but the feelings you're describing don't seem to indicate a lack of desire for social connection, they indicate a defensiveness that was formed as a protective response to pain. Not everyone is a piece of shit that wants to hurt you.

Powerful interview, that part about what suprised him about Human Nature of everyone having that longing for a human connection is profound. And, then removing that connection as a punitive effect to gain leverage is so true.
The last bit is massive and maybe a bit depressing as it's so obvious. People naturally yearn for social connections. Not just for the one wife/mate. I'm drunk as heck but my guess would be if you left people to their own devices we'd be mostly congregating around a fire/place to eat and then dancing. Happy as fookin Larry.
Incredibly smart guy. I found this fascinating bc I'm in sales. It's crazy bc u can only practice if front of a client. It's a long road to get good enough to even answer well. This guy is super smooth. I liked the nuances he identifies.
I’m so glad I stumbled across this! This is one the most interesting conversations I’ve seen between two intelligent and insightful individuals. Thank you for material that is not generic like everyone else is putting out.
I think one interesting thing about the bullshit meter is that even if someone calls bullshit it’s pretty common for people to go against their better judgement if you are offering something else they want. Which can often be that human longing for a connection he mentions. If you were to use that, I’d say most people would overlook a lot of red flags.
Oh I bet this guy was good. I can totally picture him undercover for years infiltrating some crazy shit. Its hard to take an ex agent at this word, but just the general things he is talking about shows me how well he could be at manipulating people.
The Gentlemen answers AND needs not to digress. What a comforting footnote for the mind. This conversation fluid like a well oiled machine in verbal intellect 🤔😊
As a former undercover narcotics detective for a federal multi jurisdictional task force, I can relate to a lot of this. What would be hard is the amount of time they have to keep up that covert identity for such a long amount of time.
Yeah I can’t even imagine I have lived alllllll over the place in this world. I’ve lived in Malaysia before and then when I was in Texas a friend in high school from Malayasia ran into me and stopped me ‘HEYYYYY TYLER how’s it going’ Can’t imagine how awkward that would be for you or someone else undercover to run into an old school mate when shopping with people you’re trying to infiltrate with. ‘HEYYY CALVIN?!‘ The gangsters your with: ‘waiiiit a min you said your name was Marvin..’
@@yourdadsotherfamily3530 lol. I got tense a couple times. Once a deputy from a county I used to be a patrol officer in saw me. I hadn't seen him in 2 years and he lived about 200 miles from where I was working. As soon as our eyes made contact his face lit up and here he came. I was standing with three guys that I had been working for about 2 months. We were at a fair type event. My partner and I had a code phrase for this type of situation. My partner walked past him and " accidentally " bumped into him. As he was apologizing for bumping into him he whispered to him to stay away. The deputy finally caught on. He knew I had went to another agency but had no idea I was undercover so he didn't really know any better. I saw him a couple of years later at the court house and he apologized for about 30 mins.
Yes non verbal cues without an individual baseline are not a solid science. I remember being treated as suss during a police interview for my lack of eye contact. I was super young and what the officer failed to comprehend was I was being totally honest but I grew up with a lazy right eye so I always avoided eye contact as I was very insecure about this feature. They interpreted this as a sign of deception. And also although I have no accent and speak perfect English, it is my second language the fact that I migrated from Argentina to Australia and had to adapt to a new culture made me quite shy as a child so I was already displaying some social anxiety but not because I was being deceptive. Ive since learnt to improve on my non verbal communication
Most people don't realize how much having genuine truthful ethics and standards bode for ones self. Especially as young as you. Take pride in that. Its something you'll rarely find anymore it don't seem to be going back.
Sociopaths/psychopaths/narcissists are fairly clever, albeit in a "lowbrow" type of way. I became friends with this girl, and it turned-out she was clearly one of those people without empathy or "code." Totally devoid of feeling, honor, dignity, and she was just shameless. Here is an example of the type of thing she'd do: Her: (Texting me) "What are you doing?" Me: "Ah, just chillin' at my house. What's up?" ((At this point, In HER mind, she's thinking, "Okay, he's not busy at the moment. He can potentially give me what I want.")) Her: "Ah, nothing, I'm just having some drama. And, none of my so-called friends will help." Do you see what she has done? She is clearly leading me to ask, "What drama?" so she can naturally ask for help, because I've led her to it. Furthermore, she is also shaming her friends who won't help her. Consequently, she is also "pre-shaming" me, if I refuse to help her, whilst simultaneously attempting to raise MY empathy for her (by playing the victim.) That is the type of thing she'd try to do, again, and again, and again. (I helped her once, after that, I just played along. I wanted to analyze her mind.) Every WORD she'd utter was DESIGNED to illicit a certain response. And, that response will ALWAYS be something that benefits her. Meanwhile, she'd give NOTHING in return unless FORCED. But, you know what the scariest part is? That girl actually BELIEVED these delusional narratives she created. (I think.)
hey bro you're pretty socially aware about this sort of thing and you manage to completely understand the game she was playing. How did you achieve that?
@@echelontimepieces22 Hmm, I'm trying to give you a functional answer. But, it's difficult, because it's akin to describing how my mind functions lol... Short answer: Pattern recognition. Longer answer: There was, always, a distinct correlation between her words and her motives. Note: When I was in my 20's, I think my ego & hormones would have prevented me from recognizing what she was doing. I would have been blinded by my desire to get her naked, AND I'd be thinking "She wants me." As cringe as that is, it's true.
Also, the day Mike Baker came on Rogan, something was up. These tenuous but also real links to intelligence, are not there by accident. If you think agencies like CIA, or NSA suffer fools in ANY way you’re mistaken. They look upon a conjunction of information, like these very popular podcasts, as a well to be tapped, quietly, and efficiently. Sometimes the quietest way to tap a keg is while everyone is talking. Of course there’s nothing anyone can do about it. It’s just interesting to understand this while “consuming” the content is all.
Yea if an ex spy makes an extremely public broadcast about being an ex spy, you can at least assume at a minimum there's a motive and objective for doing so
That last minute was so powerful. Huge part of the C19 psy op Isolating ppl. Telling ppl. They couldn’t even eat together which is a huge human bonding activity
Fascinating interview lads thank you !!! I’m intrigued by the tree disguises ,and how it would be extremely difficult to not get emotionally attached to the people which your are dealing with and the characters that you need to become ,
This clip just made me realize after 34 years that I will ALWAYS look to the right before I even consider looking to the left. Except when operating a vehicle.
The best masters of disguise are vampires. The age gap between their various alter egos helps. Otto von Bismarck once survived an assassination attempt of 5 gunshots at point blank range. He also immediately summoned the strength to subdue the gunman til the police arrived. Adolf Hitler claimed to have a serum which could extend someone's lifespan to several millennia. He did. He was previously known as Otto von Bismarck. Hitler often subtly highlighted and contoured his nose to help obscure the resemblance. However look at a photo of him in stark lighting which drowns out these subtleties. Compare his nose to a photo of Bismarck on his "death bed" where the profile of his nose is clear. They had the same nose. He's still alive too. He's a singer/songwriter/Goth band leader. He's superb. He's a scary guy but I'm a masochist, so I just wanna jump into his lap like a kitty cat and cuddle ALL up to him. Everyone does. He was voted Class President in high school.
@@jhemarca2596 If you Google "Otto von Bismarck assassination attempt" some info may turn up. I stumbled across the account of how this tussle went down while researching another Bismarck-related topic. Btw Bismarck was also the Russian mystic Rasputin, who infiltrated the Russian Imperial Family's inner circle. Surely it is he who orchestrated their assassination. He's quite a talented musician too. His previous pseudonyms include Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Hitler's friends called him Wolf and Mozart's wife nicknamed him Wolfie. And he still bridges the gap between secular and religious music. In one of his current alter ego's interviews he nonchalantly makes one of his eyes suddenly grow to twice its original size. Just one eye. And then it shrinks back down to normal, also without acknowledgement or ado. However I'm loath to divulge his current identity because I'm afraid of him. As a recording artist, he's technically a public figure. However I am too terrified of him to mention his name unnecessarily.
One question I would like to have asked Lex: how much of yourself do you need to sell out in order to do this role? And..., do you ever really get it back?
17:00 I can remember wanting to be near other people, especially people similar to me, but I lost it somewhere along the way. There is no better place for me than completely alone, it's where I am my happiest self. I dont mind having to be near other people and talk to them, but I never ever seek it out or wish for it. After a long day of work, nothing is better than coming home and being all by myself.
That’s a very good point. I don’t know much about this guy on the left. The guy who’s podcast Mr. Bussante ( I probably slaughter the spelling of his name. I apologize no pun intended.) but I find it interesting what the Lex guy said that’s one thing that really hits home for me if you’re the same all the time and you’re yourself, and just honest and sincere kind of blunt, but in a respectful way, I find the exact same thing he said, to be true, almost interestingly enough more effective than pretending to be something, you’re not just being completely transparent, and sincere and honest, I mean, not giving away your Social Security number in your bank account information where your kids go to school shit like that but as far as everything else, there’s no reason to fake the funk as they say because people can tell especially folks who are smart or quick witted /intelligent people
Interviewer. Interrogator. Obviously a big difference as the person who would be interrogating would have a very specific skill set and be less likely to lose control. But if you're someone like Andrew and have a skill set, you can answer questions in a way to direct a conversation or other questions in a way that you favor. Same thing with being interviewed. Andrew covered this I believe when he was on the Koncrete podcast?? Really a masterful skill to learn and it's manipulation at its finest and goes back long ago when(believe it was CIA or like) they were trying to do studies on people for "mind control". A person themselves can control another through multiple forms of manipulation. A sad example, but look at victims of Abuse/DV..... slightly different as it also involves a physical abuse as well, but it's still a form of control. Andrew is AWESOME, Top G 👍🤣

The way he describes the essential difference between feelings and logical thought was perfect - exactly the point of therapy and the meat of deciphering why we behave the way we do
Lex has wonderful understated style. As a videographer who documents people’s life stories, I have a real appreciation of it.

Are you reaching for level 3?
Naw that’s just what the scale reads when he gets on it bro.
Your mission is over. You can now loose that 50pounds

What you didn't realise was that the spy is actually the one playing Lex in this clip. _That's_ how good he is.

I think the cia chose this guy bc he’s so excited about the challenge and games involved in cia manipulation type of stuff.
Hence why he’s on a podcast. It’s probably his new “job”. Either what you said, or he somehow got exposed by the CIAs threats so they made him a public figure instead. Who knows but I’m guessing there’s a reason they let him go on this podcast.

I’m so glad I stumbled across this! This is one the most interesting conversations I’ve seen between two intelligent and insightful individuals. Thank you for material that is not generic like everyone else is putting out.
Exactly, the content and the way they are respectful and don't interrupt each other is an example of how real gentlemen talk.
Relived to see I’m not the only one who closes his eyes when he’s trying to think of what to say.
I think one interesting thing about the bullshit meter is that even if someone calls bullshit it’s pretty common for people to go against their better judgement if you are offering something else they want. Which can often be that human longing for a connection he mentions. If you were to use that, I’d say most people would overlook a lot of red flags.
It’s refreshing to hear people speak about these topics
Oh I bet this guy was good. I can totally picture him undercover for years infiltrating some crazy shit. Its hard to take an ex agent at this word, but just the general things he is talking about shows me how well he could be at manipulating people.

Just him reading Lex for a second was WILD lol
This touched on many points which I didn't expect, but very much appreciated. This was interesting. Ill have to watch the full podcast.
Great content. Love hearing stuff like this because there isn't a ton of ex-CIA officers getting interviewed. Atleast non-cap content. Lol
Most people don't realize how much having genuine truthful ethics and standards bode for ones self. Especially as young as you. Take pride in that. Its something you'll rarely find anymore it don't seem to be going back.
Probably be great to have a game of I Spy with him.
It's also fun to watch people realize what a damn good question Lex has asked them.
Sociopaths/psychopaths/narcissists are fairly clever, albeit in a "lowbrow" type of way.
I became friends with this girl, and it turned-out she was clearly one of those people without empathy or "code."
Totally devoid of feeling, honor, dignity, and she was just shameless.
Here is an example of the type of thing she'd do:
Her: (Texting me) "What are you doing?"
Me: "Ah, just chillin' at my house. What's up?"
((At this point, In HER mind, she's thinking, "Okay, he's not busy at the moment. He can potentially give me what I want."))
Her: "Ah, nothing, I'm just having some drama. And, none of my so-called friends will help."
Do you see what she has done? She is clearly leading me to ask, "What drama?" so she can naturally ask for help, because I've led her to it.
Furthermore, she is also shaming her friends who won't help her.
Consequently, she is also "pre-shaming" me, if I refuse to help her, whilst simultaneously attempting to raise MY empathy for her (by playing the victim.)
That is the type of thing she'd try to do, again, and again, and again. (I helped her once, after that, I just played along. I wanted to analyze her mind.)
Every WORD she'd utter was DESIGNED to illicit a certain response.
Lol your talking about most women in general
@@lorriecarrel9962 That's depressing.
I would have been blinded by my desire to get her naked, AND I'd be thinking "She wants me."
As cringe as that is, it's true.
This is normal shit. A lot of people don’t even realize they do this. It’s very easy to use it to your advantage when you can spot it early.

Veey interesting conversation. I could listen to these 2 talk all day
Also, the day Mike Baker came on Rogan, something was up.

I’ve never dealt with CIA level spies, but I’ve dealt with undercover police, and they always do something to give it away.
Scam artists are the same thing. Fake shows.

The 1 answering the question is in control of this conversation because he can tell his truth and persway the 1 who's listening.
