I don't watch food network anymore, because you and other down to home people have good recipes. I am enjoying cooking your recipes, some I have been using for years. God Bless
I love that you have done the *trial and error* of other recipes before you present the one you like. Also the way you lay out all the ingredients so organized to see the process!. Very organized!
Linda, I know. I'm a little.......frugal. I believe in the old saying, "Waste not, want not". I just can't stand the thoughts of wasting food. I believe that came from my Mammaw. She survived the Great Depression and she wasted NOTHING! I mean NOTHING! I heard so many of her stories about not having sugar, flour, ladies stockings, perfume, and on, and on, and on that it's become ingrained in me, I guess.
I have a funny story about homegrown😊 eggs. When my daughter's fiance built a chicken coup and some hens, he was disappointed that the hens were laying very few eggs. So my daughter bought some from the store and started putting them in the henhouse so he wouldn't be so disappointed. In a couple of days, she overdid the eggs, and her fiance thought that he had magic hens. At that point, she had to confess. They have been married over ten years and we are still laughing about the magical hens.
I bake to take into work. I made a batch of these this morning - OMG, to die for. Everybody LOVED them. I also adapted the recipe for cheese scones by reducing the sugar to 1 tbsp and adding 1 cup of grated old cheddar cheese instead of the cranberries and orange. Deeeeeelicious. This recipe is going into my personal cookbook.
Belinda, we are delighted to hear that you made the scones and that they were a hit at your work. We also appreciate that you shared the adaptations you made for the recipe. Love that! So glad the recipe is going into your personal cookbook. It's great to hear from you!
Wow, sometimes I don't like scones because they are dry. This recipe looks like it could yield delicious, moist scones. Thanks for showing how to make them so well.
Judy, since scones are a form of a biscuit, they are not as moist as something like a cake, but these are some of the most moist scones we've had. They go great with coffee, tea, or a glass of milk. We hope you try them and enjoy every bite! Thanks for watching our videos!
Tom and Melissa from one retired teacher to two retired teachers, thank you for your company and recipes. I so enjoy your personalities. Blessings from Texas!
I think both of you were excellent teachers. When you said a half cup and a quarter cup makes 3/4 cup. I bet it lit a lot of minds. As a kid I knew two bits made a quarter and a quarter was 25 cents but when it came to a clock I would ask my mom what time and she would say it’s a quarter of five etc. All of a sudden I understood. Carol
Carol, the teacher slips out of me occasionally. LOL! I just can't help it. After spending my entire life in a classroom teaching, it just comes natural to explain things like "a half cup and a quarter cup makes 3/4 cup." I appreciate that you tolerate me from me. Thanks for being so supportive!

Thank you so much for your nice words. It's great having you at the table with us. We decided to add the information about ordering the mat so it's now on the video. It's a great product and a few people have asked us about it and the grater and the bowls.
These scones look delicious. I'm going to have to try these. I love watching your videos because you always scrap the bowls, to many people don't scrap their bowls and waste some. Love the new kitchen gadget, too. Thanks for sharing your video.

I've gotten so I also mix in some drained mandarin oranges. I do it in cakes & bread pudding. It adds a level of moisture that sits nice.

Thank you so much! We appreciate your kind comment and that you are watching our channel. We hope you've had a nice weekend and that your week ahead is great as well.
This recipe for orange cranberry scones is amazingly close to a recipe I have for orange cranberry Irish soda bread with a hint of cinnamon. I've never thought of glazing it, I just liberally apply butter. I'm sure going to try the glaze you made. Those scones looked awesome. Awesome like the "awesome pot roast" you just made, leftovers will be gone tomorrow. Another winner of a recipe!
Thanks, Steve! I sure do appreciate your kind and encouraging words. And, I love knowing that you tried the Awesome Pot Roast and enjoyed it. That makes me smile! We're thrilled to have you sitting at the table with us.
We have an amazing bakery in Edmonton that is a patisserie and they make two I like. One is raspberry and white chocolate and the other is a savory one, cheese (cheddar and Gouda) and rosemary.
Oh WOW those sound so good!!!
Those sound really great. Thank you so much for watching our channel.
