Hi Sara, I love all kinds of scones so your thumbnail drew me me to your video.😊 These look delicious. It’s good to see you… How are you doing? Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas. Hugs, Dolores ⛄️🎄❄️🎁
Yesss, I made them and added choco chip for my son. I rested the dough in the fridge for 15 mins after I cutting them . I used 1/2 tsp baking sofa and 3/4 tbsp baking powder. Baked at 400 22 mins in convection ( didnt adjust temp) and they are absolutely WONDERFUL. Followed the keep all ingredients cold advice and i think that def had an impact on how these turned out.two thumbs up!
Thank you so much for this recipe! I had been looking for the right recipe for cranberry orange muffins, and stumbled on this video and decided to give it a try. I cut the cranberries in half, and soaked them in the juice of the orange (1/4c)and a squirt of honey (about 1/4c). I used whole milk because thats all I have, and only used 1/4c because of the OJ. I also used half whole wheat flour instead of AP, so I couldnt sift (I tried...) I also didnt chop up the butter enough, so it was in really big chunks. I also cut the "wheel" in half and made two small wheels of mini scones. They turned out so perfectly!!!! I already want to make another batch to freeze for later. These are so, so good!! Thank you!!
I made them and they turned out perfect. So soft and delicious! I added the zest of two oranges, and the orange flavour turned out very intense, which I really liked. Also, I used dried tart cherries because I didn’t have frozen cranberries. Thank you for the recipe!
Gidday Sara from the land down under in Perth. I made your scones to take to my quilting group yesterday and they all loved the intense flavour of them and told me I could make them anytime 😄and my husband ate the rest’ so thank you
Hi, Sara! These scones look amazing! I usually skip the step of sifting the flour, lol, but I will be sure to sift it in this recipe. I like the idea of using frozen cranberries so that you keep the dough cold. You are right: the dough looked crazy, not resembling scones, but then in the end, you made absolutely beautiful scones. I love the drizzling of glaze. Thanks for sharing!
Oooh wow.. these scones look amazing! And I really don't typically like scones, because I think I just assume they'll be a little dry and flavorless. But I might have to try these - they just look so tasty!
Hi Sara....Love scones too! I made these with just orange zest and I only had half and half mixed with sour cream cold😁....also with the glaze 1/2 cup half and half with 2 tblsp of sour cream....I could not find frozen, fresh cranberries but it still came out delish Thank you your recipe is so simple 💕😊 God Bless
Thanks for the recipie! Just made them, I have to say...the fresh frozen cranberries are super duper tart. I hope the glaze will cut the tartness. My plan next time is to rehydrate dried cranberries.
@@SarasBites Ok the frosting definitely helped! I love the fresh cranberries too much to use dried next time. But what I think I'll do is soak them in some sugar water beforehand and then freeze. I'm just not a fan of the tartness lol
Looks like a great recipe!! My only concern is: are the cranberries super tart? Or do you find that the sugar in dough along with the glaze mellow out the tartness? Thanks!
Thank you! I wouldn't keep them more than 2 days bc they will start to crumble. But you can make them and store the dough in the fridge for 5 days before baking them :)
Haha they are hard to find sometimes! And yes! Lemon will be a bit more on the sour side and I usually use it wth blueberries but I don’t see why you can try with cranberries :)
@@SarasBites so, dumb question, if there aren't many cranberry scone recipes, then is it because people aren't searching for that term? and if so then how does yours get found if they're not searching for cranberry scones? Sorry, I'm full of questions. BTW, how's the wee one?

I notice the video says unsalted butter, the ingredients only lists butter. Maybe it doesn't make much diff .... still. Also, for those of us who like to copy/print the ingreds list & directions, details from the video (butter cubes in fridge, etc) included in the ingreds/instructions would be most helpful. Thanks for your consideration.
Hi Tim! Sorry about that, I just changed it to "unsalted butter" :). If you need to print, I always put a link to the printable portion on my website. It should be the first link in the description box or just go to Sarasbites.com and search the recipe. Thanks for the tips and good looking out :)
I'm going to try these with gluten free flour. I cannot find a gluten free cranberry orange scone recipe that is not (one of these): paleo, vegan, dairy free, and I can't remember what else. Or doesn't have flax seed or something I never heard of. But for these I will add some psyllium husk.
Dear Sara, I'm amazed by this 😍 Clean, detailed video, with ingredients and description, just as I love. And the scones were out of this world! WOW! Your new friend and a sub #921, with pleasure. Strictly speaking, scones are smaller, round, and not covered in icing or glaze. What you've made is cake. They're delicious, but they're not scones.
