  • This is how I make the most out of my lever arms (jammer arms) by using accessories. Accessories include Rogue Monster Lite spotter arms, Bells of Steel Hydra adjustable pull up bar, CFT Performance stainless steel weight posts, and Angles90 grips.

    If you don’t have the Vendetta Strength and Athletics brackets it would save you a LOT of time on your setup. Great video!

    i find the trouble is as you get strong with the rows etc, you start dragging the bench along the floor whilst you're on it

    • @homegymathletics4476
      @homegymathletics4476  3 місяці тому

      I usually sit on a 100lbs sandbag to add height which also adds weight to the bench and prevents it from sliding.

    Great video! You're my hero! BTW, do you use the spotter arms in some exercises to offset the weight and get more resistance in some parts of the exercise? I heard that if you only leave the weights on the same plane as the arms you don't get much resistance until around 45 degrees from the starting position.

    • @homegymathletics4476

      Thank you. I do use the spotter arms to offset the weight. I also use the weight horns in the front and ad PVC pipe as spacers to offset the weight. I will have to make a video soon showing what I mean.

    I can't decide if I want to get Lever Arms or dual side cables? Are you still happy with them? From your setup I guess you do back with body weight pullups and then lever arms for heavy rows?
    Does 90lbs on each side feel like you're lifting 180lb barbell over your head or 20-30% easier?

    • @homegymathletics4476
      @homegymathletics4476  10 місяців тому +2

      I am still happy with them. I added the Vendetta brackets so setup is a lot quicker. I found that I wasn't using them as much with the long setup times. With the Vendetta lever arm brackets, I use them all the time. I am making a video now of the updated setup. I have a DIY cable setup that I do pull-downs and I do a lot of weighted pull-ups as well.

    Do you think it be possible to do a pendulum squat with the BOS adjustable pull up bar and if so could you please demonstrate?

    • @homegymathletics4476
      @homegymathletics4476  Рік тому

      I will try it today and let you know. I built a foot plate a while ago where I can adjust the angle intended for back extensions. That would be beneficial for pendulum squats as well

      @@eddierivera6896 Here is my attempt at a Pendulum squat setup. It actually worked pretty well. Having the rack bolted down with this or any other setup is a must though. Also Attaching the pull-up bar from the back makes it more stable. It moves a little when attached from the front. ua-cam.com/users/shorts3ib62y8Xp5A

    Why the focus on locking arms together via the BOS adjustable pull up bar? Why not let the arms travel independently?

    • @homegymathletics4476
      @homegymathletics4476  Рік тому

      If I'm doing unilateral work I won't use it but for bilateral, it just feels more solid to me. Without the pull up bar the arms have a little bit of a wiggle from side to side, but with the bar attached, that movement is eliminated.

    Is there a benefit to having the weights on the sides vs the handles?

    • @homegymathletics4476
      @homegymathletics4476  5 місяців тому +4

      Are you referring to putting the weights on the spotter arms further up? If so, doing this will make the starting weight, when the lever arms are vertical, heavier. Without doing this while vertical, there will hardly be any resistance at the bottom of the movement.

  • @NoTimeForThatNow

    Good ideas, and great video, but it would be time consuming to change from one setup to another. The chinup bar helps in this respect but attaching/detaching the spotter arms still eats up time.

    • @homegymathletics4476
      @homegymathletics4476  Рік тому +1

      Thanks. I do agree that with this setup it did take a little time. I just got the Vendetta strength lever arm brackets, which makes setting up much easier and faster. They stay attached to the rack and can slide up and down. You can lock them out of the way and set them at any starting angle with just a pin.

      I had a Rogue Monster Lite 70" crossmember/pull-up bar In which I cut the square tubing in half to make the arms and cut the pull-up portion of the crossmember to use as handles.

    How much did all that cost? The rack and the arms?

    • @homegymathletics4476
      @homegymathletics4476  Рік тому

      I bought the rack and most the rack accessories from Rogue a few years ago. Its a Rogue Monster lite RML 390. Im not sure what I paid for all of it back then but I know prices have skyrocketed over the last couple of years and didn't pay close to what its selling for today. As for the lever arms (my current setup), I made them fairly cheap since I already had a lot of the pieces needed.
