Miguel Bay - my life changed dramatically in confidence and peace when I began to pray. Your anxiety is Gods call to pray and stay- near to him. Raise up the hard moments for something or someone- the devil will flee. You are blessed child of God. God Bless stay strong. Make my life a prayer. Make prayer my life. I hope this helps .

As someone diagnosed with CPTSD, OCD, General Anxiety Disorder, and Major Depression, You words of advice are so perfect and amazing!! I hope this message reaches those that also need to hear this or their loved ones. Thank you, Father. Please keep doing these videos, they mean so much to many of us.
This has always been a strength of mine: seeing what's in front of me, and doing it one step at a time. It's been a blessing to have this strength during the 7 years I've been sick, and overwhelmed by not finding answers or getting the help and support that I needed. It's been a rough 7 years, but my persistence along with Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Our Blessed Mother, and my guardian angel guiding me. They never let me give up, even when I wanted to. And I've wanted to give up many many times over the years.
Father Mike, I am studying for my public examination in order to get a job. I am behind and I just went to my Church here (Redemptorists) and prayed the Lord for help. Then I went back to the library for studying and before silence my phone, I opened UA-cam and this is what I see. You've just been used by the Lord as a sign and advice for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH, AND GLORY TO JESUS!
I came here because I was overwhelmed with homework and worry. I’m leaving with a plan and a way to also work. I love the more you take action the less you worry.
This is so true. I have noticed that when I felt overwhelmed in my studies and just took action I would feel better. I did feel paralyzed, and do tend to be a perfectionist. I think I felt so much better because of the satisfaction of knowing that now, something conducive to my goal had been accomplished.
Since the Holy Spirit came to me I have fallen head over heels in love with Jesus and every time I pray for the Grace to stop bad behavior or habits, they are gone! I was in spiritual boot camp for many weeks though, but find it so easy now just to do what I must do. Thank you Jesus and Our Lady for leading me over the mountains and valleys to Him! ❤❤❤❤❤

Step-by-step directions work best for me.
I wish I had seen this 5 years ago. This is getting added to my Favorites. I need to remind myself of this from time to time. May God bless and protect you, Fr. Mike.
I did a search for sermons on feeling overwhelmed and this video came up. I wasn’t sure at first that this would be for me bc I’m not Catholic, and to be honest I’ve always been nervous around Priests bc I thought I’d be looked down upon for not being perfect or for not being Catholic, but I hit play anyway, I mean no one can see me and no one knows I’m not Catholic🫣, and what a message! It was like God was speaking directly to me😮 Not only did I receive peace from this message, but I learned that I don’t have to be perfect even around a Catholic Priest bc they are human too! I also learned not to judge from fear of being judged!! Thank you for this message Mr Priest Mike (I’m not sure how to address you) but it helped guide me through my beautiful but sometimes very overwhelming life😊
May God always bless you and Mother Mary and St Joseph protect you. Every time that I need a word to be healed and to be at peace it comes from the Holy Spirit abiding within you. Thank you so much, Fr Mike and I deeply hope that anyone reading this message can breathe deeply in and out and start one step at a time in all those activities that need to complete. Huge hugs. We can do everything through Christ that strengthens us.
I teach piano, and many of my students want to play their pieces perfectly the first time and begin at the top of the piece when they make a mistake. I tell them, "It doesn't have to be perfect. Just get it done." If we are preparing for an audition or a recital, then yes, we strive for perfection AFTER we have gone through the crescendo and staccato and expressivo et cetera. Taking action changes the physiology, so it makes sense that doing the next motion would relieve anxiety, perhaps for a few moments. Thank you, Father Mike. God bless you.
All my music teachers from grade school (and church choir) to college stressed getting through it because (they said) if you keep going back to the top every time you make a mistake, all you're training is the part up to the mistake, and you'll make the same mistake interminably. You'll never be perfect if you do that. So get through it. When you make a mistake, look ahead and prepare for the next bit. If you keep plowing ahead you'll improve, maybe even to perfection.
I discovered you and Ascension presents in 2020. So many great videos like this. If it weren’t for time home I’d have never found this fountain of positivity and growth.

I'm going to class for my confirmation. There are so many prayers, and I've sent offerings and I'm receiving so many cards and prayers it's overwhelming 😢
This may make you feel better: "Virtues are formed by prayer. Prayer preserves temperance. Prayer suppresses anger. Prayer prevents emotions of pride and envy. Prayer draws into the soul the Holy Spirit, and raises man to Heaven." - St Ephrem the Syrian
Your videos make so much sense, Fr Mike. I've been wasting time watching political commentary and realizing it fans the flames of anxiety. Whereas your videos get me up and moving. Thank you and God bless you.
