Thanks so much…So glad I found your video it was perfect after the winter storm hit in Texas this past week. Signal alerted batteries are low and need to be changed! Mistakenly I was pulling on the motion box clueless and couldn’t find how to diy until following your instructions! Thanks 🙏
Thank you so much for this video. Mine was a little different as removing the cover revealed the batteries with no need to unscrew anything. But your video gave me the confidence to do it! A simple search online and I found the right batteries at my local WalMart. I am happy, happy! :-)
Hi - great video! I accidentally moved the "screen" in the motion detector, when doing this battery change process. There are numbers and lines there. How do I know exactly how to put it back the way it was? I slid it back in to the detector, just not sure what the lines and numbers signify. but my fingers touched it (possibly sensitive?) I hope I didn't mess anything up permanently!
On a Concord panel you will not have an issue with that. On Ademco panels you probably will. Call your central station and put your system on test during the procedure just in case it calls in a tamper alarm. You could also completely power the panel down and power it back up when you finish changing the battery.
my ADT motion sensor is very insensitive, I walk in front of it and it rarely triggers it. I change battery and no dust around it and still no luck, any tips?
try taking the battery away wait 20 seconds then put it back in..you started your walk test. walk to the motion then side ways the light should turn on (red light) motion sensors tend to not be sensitive when its motion toward the sensor. those are the instrucions for a Honeywell motion sensor
On a Concord panel once the panel receives the signal from the motion sensor it will recognize that the battery has been changed and should now show no issues with the sensor. Press "Status" and there should be no indication of trouble with that sensor. If it shows tamper, remove the cover and try replacing it again.

Excellent video. Thank you.
Does this motion detector have a camera?
This helped me soo much! Thanks for helping me save money!
Thank you very helpful thorough.
Does this record??
Do i really have to put it on test just to change the batteries?
All good but how do u stop the alarm going off when you fiddle with the sensor?
