What was she using / doing that caused the nails to be in this condition ?!🤷🏻♀️Thanks Anna ❤
She had a gel polish applied at a salon and removed at a salon, along with majority of her nail plate sadly 😥. Gel polish removal, a gentle one is time consuming and most of the client just don't know that.
When people inquire with me to remove gel polish it's always like an afterthought, "oh yeah and I have gel polish to remove". They are shocked that I need to book at least half an hour for that and charge accordingly for that. Usually about 20€ because this is how much I charge for 30 min of my time (and you know, all the overhead lol).
To be honest I'm so exhaused explaining that, that I don't do removals anymore.
Also even though product is removed gently usually there is a lot of damage underneath.
Clients think it takes 5 min and they believe that they should not be charged for that.
So salons do it in 5 min by just filing off the product with an e-file severely damaging their nails, which takes 4-5 months to grow out.
It's a difficult situation.
@@TheSalonLife thank you for explaining this :)
Hi Anna - this is your Texas grandma friend and new subscriber. I think I need to get on your payroll for being your advertising agent. Ha ha I told the ladies at church this morning about your channel. And how my nails have improved already in just three weeks. They were very interested when I was telling them some of the things that were harmful. They were surprised that they were doing some of the wrong things. They wanted me to send them the name of your channel when I got home from church today and I did. You are a blessing to so many of us old ladies that still want to look nice and want our nails to look nice. I wished I would’ve taken a before picture of my nails.
Thanks to your client and to you for sharing! I have not polished mine since April 4, 2023 and have been using oils up to 10 times throughout the day. The skin around my nails looks so much healthier . I also use CND RXX twice a day. Thank you for all your suggestions! Oh, and my nail tips appear whiter. So excited.
It’s taken a long time to grow new nails for me… since October when I found your channel. They’re very thin nails and bendy so now I keep them quite short. Also I finally found an amazing crystal nail file locally . I’ll never clip again. It takes patience I’ve learnt from Anna. And consistent oils and creams. I’m so grateful for your advice Anna. Thank you so much.
I love watching your videos. Your advice has helped me grow out my peeling nails. It's so inspiring to watch 💅
The client has a beautiful nail shape, though. Very pretty regardless of the damage. Thank you for sharing these with us, we learn a lot.
The improvement continues! Slowly, but surely. Very inspiring Anna.
Client has nice long nail beds, that helps the appearance a lot.
The improvement is astonishing! Congratulations to you both!
Thank you for posting this I am 1.5 months in from following your direction and was getting discouraged because I still have peeling of nails.
This is exactly why I posted this. The damaged part will continue to be damaged and tear and peel. There is no other way around it. Warm oil soaks will help to condition the nails ua-cam.com/video/io335eWf6R4/v-deo.html
@@TheSalonLife thank you I had previously saved that video and do it every sunday 🥰 thank you again for sharing your knowledge with all of here!
@@TheSalonLife I'm so grateful that I found you channel. I followed your advice and my nails are now beautiful and healthy. They did take a while to grow out completely, I'd say almost a whole year, and you did say to patient. Thank you! By the way, I'm not tech savvy, I don't know how to send you photos. ❤
Hello Anna. I love your videos and education on natural nail care. I am currently growing out my natural nails. I had my last application of a gel fill the end of January. I have chosen not to remove it unless it lifts to help reduce the pain. My growth so far is about as much as you client in this video. So encouraging. Thanks for the reminder about how much time it takes. ❤❤❤
Great video, you’re clients nails and skin around the nails looks so much better ❤
Vwey generous of tour client to share her stressful journey. Her hands looks miles better already! Love the color on you, do- tell 😊 what it is. Ty
Extraordinary difference around your client's PNF. Fabulous result !
I can see a difference from you’re client her nails when she came the first time to you. And the results of her nails now. I’m glad to see that her nails looks so much better and also less painfull due to the over filling of her nails ❤. Over filled nails can hurt a lot. Also the polish that you use from catrice looks really nice on her nails. Can wait to see how her nails will look after another few months
The improvement is great. Mine are like this, slow growing. consistent gentle maintenance is the key. I love watching you work. I have learned so much. Nice video and music. Thanks Anna!🌸V
The transformation is very obvious! In the beginning, her nails were in a very poor damaged state - and you said it - she will have to be patient. With your care they now look almost 100% healthy!!!
Pt 2: What color is on your left thumb? I'm not ready to use polish yet but when I do, I want that color😊
I was obsessing over that color myself 😍
Beautiful, Anna!!
What did she use to protect her natural nail?
Thank you for the video :) I can’t wait to send you my monthly mail progress. Thank you for your help!
Love the soothing much towards the end
Anna, what color is on your thumb? I just painted my nails with OPI gel in Mr and Mrs Mimosa and it is streaky-after 3 very thin coats. 😢 what can I do about this? 🤔 I love watching these videos. It gives me hope! I have 3 nails with a strong ridge down the center and I wonder what caused it and how long it will take to smooth out. Thanks for sharing this progress. ❤
Ty Anna! From a business standpoint, is there a difference in price for a 'standard' manicure and a 'maintenance' manicure? Or would that just be considered a 'natural' manicure? Do clients complain about not being able to have any color to cover the damage, or for the cost of having to come every wk (and not even having color- as if its less work)? Thanks for all you do! 💌 from Vegas 🎲🎰🏜️
Hi Karen, what do you mean standard and maintenance? I have a different price for manicure without polish 20€ 25 min
Manicure with Dior Nail Glow 22€ 30 min
Manicure with Dazzle Dry 30€ 45 min
Manicure with CND Shellac (incl removal) 35€ 1 hr.
Clients are not upset because I don’t make the decision for them. I just say that they totally can have color polish but it will not stick to such damaged surface and it will probably chip within a day. If they want to have their nails polished I can polish them.
I would not use CND Shellac because it will peel for sure and Shellac is not designed for damaged nails and it will peel and cause more damage and there is risk of developing allergic reaction.
If client insist that they want Shellac this is discussed before the service and I will not offer it so they can go to another salon if they wanna risk it.
It’s like perming damaged, bleached hair. Some hairdressers will do it. Some will not.
I would rather err on the side of the caution
Hello Anna! Thank you again for a very informative video. I have stopped buffing my nails since last July and I still can’t grow them, they keep separating at the free edge. I’ve stopped cutting my PNF as well and use Kerasal approx one a week, oil and Cerave urea cream everyday, and warm oil baths every week. I can see in this video that your client has a bit of vertical peeling on their nails in the healthy part and this is something I have too now, which I didn’t use to have before. What can be the cause and what do I need to change to stop it? Thanks
Thanks
Hello, what do you mean that client has vertical peeling in the healthy part?
I don't know how to help with your nails unless I can see your nails. Please check out is the service I provide is something that would interest you

Hi Anna, a QUESTION for you. I recently purchased the Dior Abricot base coat as recommended in one of your previous videos. I cannot seem to stop the polish from bubbling. I realise the polish is very thick and have experimented with all kinds of applications, including just one very thin layer, but as soon as I add anything on top the polish bubbles. I am leaving time for the coats to dry in between. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Buy the way, the difference in your client’s nails is incredible. She must be thrilled.
Hi Nina! The polish should not be very thick. I have no idea why this is happening without seeing you applying it. It has never bubbled for me.
I’m wondering if I have a bad batch as mine is very very thick and there seems to be no way of stopping it bubbling however thin a layer I try to apply. Thanks for your reply.
I had been getting UV gel manicures for years. Suddenly, I had an allergic reaction. Fingers would swell for 3 days. My dermatologist had me remove the polishes. The IBD layer is still there. I was told my nails are paper thin underneath and to let them grow out naturally. The IBD is starting to flake off near the new growth. I am trying Vaseline at bedtime and cuticle oil daytime. Keeping the nails short. Any additional suggestions?
Hello Barbara! Well, the allergic reaction doesn't really happen all over sudden. Usually the mild, first signs are missed. This kind of reaction happens because of overexposure to certain ingredients which happens when certain ingredients make skin contact (usually they are not applied properly or not cured properly or applied on severely damaged nails).
It's like getting lung disease suddenly after 40 years of smoking.
Without seeing your nails I can't really advise on what to do.
Keeping the nails short and shortening them every week is a good idea for sure.
Growing out the remaining product might be an option.
When did the reaction happen?
@@TheSalonLife I noticed the allergic reaction about 2 months ago. I understand the why. The IBD layer is my biggest concern, as parts of it are peeling and exposing my nail. I have been clipping them shorter the past 2 weeks. Should I just file them every few days?
What is the brown discoloration around her nails?
Hi Patricia? I’m not sure what you mean? I don’t see any discolouration…
What drill were you using Erica's small tapered barrel drill bit with? I think I've fond my nail restoration channel!
Hi Sally, I have all the links that I have in the description box :)
MelodySusie Jade E-file bit.ly/3qiytN1 TSL12 for 12% off
@@TheSalonLife Yes, I saw the link for the drill, but since the bit was a different brand I assumed you weren't using them together. It's good to know that Erica's drill bits will fit the MelodySusie drill. Thanks so much for your response. Sally
Yes, the drill bits are pretty standard. There are only 2 types really. These ones and the very thick ones. They are rarely sold in mani/pedi space
@@TheSalonLife So glad to have found your channel. I worked as a professional manicurist until 1992. After retiring to be home with my son, I worked only on my own nails. I kept my nails covered with acrylics, and later CND Shellac gels, from 1985 to 2022. Today my nails are natural, but look awful. I have curled nails, to which my dermatologist says I can do nothing about. My nails are also soft and split about halfway up the nail beds. I'm going to try one of the MAVALA products you mentioned in the hopes that it will make my nails less vulnerable to breakage. Can't wait to learn more about acquiring healthy, attractive nails on your channel. Sally
🙂❤
Is there a good substitute for Kerasal that we can buy in Europe.?
Eucerin with urea. In her previous posts (months ago) there is a list of recommended products.
Kerasal is available in Europe through iHerb iherb.co/o7Dwk6dm
Where exactly in Europe are you? It's a big continent :))
@@TheSalonLife thank you! I found it online with €15 or €16 extra for shipping, even Iherb. When I click on it the shipping costs are €4. Thank goodness for that!
@@TheSalonLife 😂the Netherlands
I already use handcream with urea from Eucerin or la Roche posay lipikar. From what I see in the video’s, the Kerasal looks to be a thicker substance, more vaseline like consistency.
🎉🙌🏼
“Heem-a” is correct.
English is so confusing lol. I always thought it’s pronounced like “a hem” but with an a at the end
What a great improvement 👍it’s so nice to see you looking after your clients ❤️🦘🐨great advice ❤️
Hi Ana, I was so excited to try dazzle dry. I just added a ton of colors to cart only to find out during checkout they don’t ship to Canada🥲🥲🥲
Hi Angelica! You can email them and order that way. The shipping is very expensive though because polish is considered “dangerous goods”
@@TheSalonLife Aww I see, thanks for the info! Love your vids
