The guitar she's using here is a Rick Toone Spearfish. Google it, the first hit will lead you to his website with a picture of Dany playing it.

Dany exclusively played luthier Rick Toone’s guitars for a couple years. She had two and was presented a third one as they went into the studio to record Error. This was at the same time she got her first of at least three PRS’s, the Spearfish haven’t been seen on stage since.
*Fun Fact - A few years ago they were in Argentina to open for another amazing power trio, Eruca Sativa. Before the tour started, Dany and Pau caught ES performing at a small club where they were seated on a couch. Lead singer and guitarist Lula Bertoldi came into the crowd during a cover of Eleanor Rigby and handed Dany her PRS to ad lib on. I believe that was the first time she played a PRS in public.

A great concert, pretty much homemade by an independent band. Pau constantly having to adjust her mic, Ale fully animated and tearing up her bass, Dany totally into character with the black paint on her neck and hands... This concert was a big deal at the time. I love the Teatro concert and the songs repeated there are much better sound quality and the voices are more mature, but this concert has a rawness that is mesmerizing.

18, 16, and 13! I've been watching this for almost four years, and I still can't get over that fact. Another remarkable thing about this album is that it seems to get better and better with each song. Also watch for occasional genre shifts as the girls can do it all.

Obviously, here is where things begin to turn dangerous. Her control is slipping and the Queen is willing to do anything to make that love happen. Like kill off the competition, as you mentioned. The lyrics also go from “let me be the one” to “I *will be* the one”. When in character, Dany will spit out the final “for you to love me back” in furious, frustrated rage. Events are about to occur which cannot be undone.

At one point they did control Dany's Pedalboard with midi from Pau's computer, but they went back to Dany doing her own patch changes. The technical ability this band had at this early a stage in their career is almost as crazy as their music! Once in a generation talents.

    • @FullTexanEffect

    • @FullTexanEffect
      @FullTexanEffect Рік тому

@akatzukianlun4033 no. It's your opinion. What is a fact, is Band-Maid and The Warning have met. There's footage of them fan girling over each other. Why would a great band such as Band-Maid fangirl over another band that is a "joke" or that has "no technical ability"? Who are you to judge how good a band is? You are a joke.

    • @JesusVillanueva
      @JesusVillanueva Рік тому +12

@akatzukianlun4033 Since Robert was talking about the pedalboard and midi, I don't think he was talking about their techical ability to play, but actually the technology they use to make their sound what it is. For example here is a video in which Dany explains all technical things she does with her pedalboard to get her sound ua-cam.com/video/qdzZHL32_IY/v-deo.htmlsi=McDCRuxY2UbnRvlm. Dany explains that she send audio with different effects to each speaker (left and right) to create a bigger sound. This is the work that most music listeners NEVER see, or hear when listening to a song, as you said, you just hear "a simple guitar riff, basic guitar chords,, a very simple bass line and drum fills.."
      EDIT: Spelling corrections

I commented on one of your previous The Warning reaction videos where I provided information about the girls formal music education (classical piano, individual instruments, music theory and composition via Berklee.)
To me, this and another QOTMS song, "The Sacrifice" are perfectly illustrative of their high-level, superior compositional understanding due to that education. Simply put, they KNOW how music works. As a musician, to me, those two songs are the best all-around compositions/arrangements on the album. Just spectacular!
Oh and, by the way, Dany's Rick Toone Spearfish guitars are roughly $10,000 a pop!

Mike, love that you picked up the Rush vibe especially in Ale's bass line. That was my first imprint as well...but I grew up listening to a lot of Rush way back when. Pau gives a whole run down of her set up for controlling everything via midi and Ableton in a video. You nailed it. As to their song writing...one of the things I find so refreshing about their songwriting is they often do the unexpected. It isn't cookie cutter, formulaic rock where ever song needs a guitar solo, sections repeat note for note, etc. When you get into the story, and the storytelling, this is like Shakespeare set to music. I get chills listening to this album and getting lost in the story! Great reaction.

Be aware, the Lunario show was a complete debut presentation/enactment of this masterwork musical story. There are some of those songs that they performed at other concerts, including their subsequent Foro DiDi performance. In my opinion, you get the continuity of the entire program if you stick with the Lunario show, although the other performances are also quite good, and well worth watching as well.

Several other reactors have gone through the whole album and i always enjoy the unique perspectives that they add to my enjoyment of the record. Same with you. Yours is the most compositionally focused reaction/review i have seen so far and i am enjoying it.
I get what commenters are telling you about following through totally on the Lunario show. I agree that it is a good show and relatively well recorded, so if you stick to that it will be fine. Others might disagree, but i would still suggest that when you get to Dull Knives (Cut Better) you should watch/listen to the performance that they did from the Warning Cave for deTour. This was a virtual concert fundraiser organized by, amongst others, Matt Pinfield & Lzzy Hale. Their performance of the song was really crunchy, high energy, and well sound engineered. In addition, the President of Lava records made an appearance on that show to announce that he had signed The Warning to their label. The performance was so strong that it was replayed by request toward the end of the show. This is also where, after she saw them perform, that Lzzy Hale stated that she had to take TW on the road with her. 2 years later, she followed through. TWA will always love Lzzy & Halestorm for doing that. You would also do well to react to the song from the performance at the Teatro Metropolitan show. I would also suggest that you watch P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C. from their show at the Whiskey a Go Go, just before the pandemic shot everything down. Their performance of the song that night was particularly crisp and, again, crunchier than at the Lunario show.
    Cheers.

Another great song that gets stuck in my head and I'm not complaining. They made three vlogs discussing a little about each song, sometimes it's a little techy, or just background on where a lyric came from etc. They mention having fun experimenting with key changes while writing this album, so there will be those moments that surprise. The great thing about the vlogs is how they are just normal teens that sometimes get so excited they all talk at the same time and laugh a lot. Then they come up with this brilliant record. That just doesn't happen.

This whole album is a testament to the versatility of TW. They use different styles, transitions and show their ability to write intricate music. They pretty much use every style invented in music and QOTMS is a album you don´t expect from girls at that age. I am so relieved that the music industry didn´t succeed in making them main stream and change them into Barbie dolls. This album would never have been done if the girls wouldn´t have been so smart and refused to change. Thanks to you I now notice Rush influence as well.

Just an FYI, Pau did a Masterclass at the 2022 Soundcheck Xpo in CDMX.
It covers many things to include some of the things Pau is “actually” controlling with her laptop and some insight on her process of starting to write a song.
One interesting thing during the class is she talks about the click track they had been using and the one (no pun intended) from David Bendeth.
Pau also let’s the audience actually hear the click track and everything else she hears in her InEarz Audio monitor system.
I’ll do an edit and include the link to the version with English subtitles, if you’re interested.

Concept albums are very difficult to do well. Songs have to be good AND move the story along. My two favorite concept albums had always been Tommy by The Who and The Wall by Pink Floyd. Both of these bands were at the top of their game when they produced these albums. Pink Floyd had the resources to spend almost a whole year in the studio with The Wall. In contrast, QOTMS was put together by three teenaged sisters in their basement. I will never understand how they did it.

I love the almost haunting and foreboding sound from the intro of the song, it speaks of things to come and they will not be good for the recipient, plus I really love the piano track they included in the song. The song would still work without it but that small embellishment really adds something special to it, and that what they do with their tracks, they embellish the song the tracks never become the song. There have been times when the track has failed and no one in the audience even noticed, because it is not the main part of the song, that's how good they are.

When they can lose the extras, and yet still play, still sing, and still perform, just a little less "full". Backing tracks should enhance, not replace. When you have bands that can't play without them, then you should be questioning it.

I was laying on the couch listening to QOTMS a few days ago. I nodded off a few songs in and boy I had a weird dream (the bit I remember). Dany (I think) was there I'm not sure why, was she or was I helping her/me buy a car. The main thing the car had to carry/fit 3 bodies in the boot/trunk. One was picked and it took off to do a pickup with the cops follow soon after.
The moral of the dream I don't know but I suspect it's If you don't want a weird/sinister dream don't take a nanna nap while listening to QOTMS. Or QOTMS is so good it will haunt your ever moment? You have been Warned. 😱😅⚡⚡⚡🤘💥

I must say I enjoy your style of reaction because you mix the musician perspective with a fan appeal which is the perfect formula, IMO. The only thing I would suggest is not stop the video every 5 seconds. Yes, your insight is super but I think if you dissect it on the first listen, it takes away the fuller effect of the song. I DO want to hear those observations but you can still go back on some of them after the end and playback, for emphasis, those certain points. Sure, stopping here and there, is cool but don’t drill it down so much technically as you go to lose the flavor of the flow. Btw, I Subscribed. P.S. This obsevation is a general assesment of multiple videos not so much just this one. 👍⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️

I'm a bit torn between Teatro Metropolitan and Lunario version. For overall quality & performance, Teatro is definitely better, more particularly Dany's steadier, fuller vocal. But I like Ale's crunchier bass tone in Lunario.
One exception though, Dany's guitar solo in Queen of the Murder Scene is smoother in Lunario.
As for Dull Knives, my vote still goes to Cave De(Tour) version. You can see the 3 of them in one frame due to the tight space, and to me it's a perfect setting for explosive short song like Dull Knives.
So far, you chose my fave version of each song you reacted to. Seems like you have a great instinct 😂🤘

Definitely Pau on the Piano backing track...or wait...was it Ale or Dany?

Ale was recording an album in the 4th grade. Pau likes to lip sync the words when she's not singing

The opening scene of the movie version ( ua-cam.com/video/9VciU3gMMUY/v-deo.html ) is tagged with Creative Dreams, the Social Media & Digital Marketing company that Rudy runs. I believe his company has done all the marketing and meida for the band since he joined the TW family in 2016.

She didn't... she had as much input into it as Dany and Ale did... as always it's Pau fans making up shit to build her up above her sisters.

I do believe the background was by Greta Joffroy, Rudy's sister. At least all the art work for the QOTMS album.
