Man that blue lighting looks epic on the snare rack. Great lesson, one of my favorite rudiments.
Thanks Haiden!!
as self-practived drummer who isnt able to afford expensive drum lessons I want to thank you sooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are very welcome!
I am a current DBO Academy Student ( Level 5 out of 5, 1 being a Beginner ) and at $195 for a year is Very Well worth it. Even the youtube courses are awesome. Gabe is an excellent teacher, and we do live chats as a group now and then. Great stuff. Keep up the good work Marian.
P.S. Terri is my wife's name, Mine is Ward L.
Now that I've been playing marching snare more than ever and am likely going to march for the first time this summer, I can tell any person that is thinking to themselves right now that rudiments are "boring" or "useless" that once you get them down, they're really a ton of fun to work with and will make drumming in-general so much easier and fluid. Gabe calls the paradiddle-diddle "boring" for the sakes of the video, but I honestly find it one of the most fun since it's an easy one to do fast. If a bit of technique training and rudiments can get me to playing top-grade solos in my state, it can take you much further. They are your best tools...!
Why is the cinematography in your all your videos now so good
Giving it extra effort plus my brother has been helping film as well!
Really changes the perspective of we look at rudiments, I really needed this, thanks Gabe
That's awesome Justin!! I'm so glad I could help.
Holy crap. All of a sudden I feel like its my life's mission to incorporate paradiddlediddle into beats. This makes it so much more interesting to use!
Haha I love that!
This studio! It's looking so awesome!😍 Great Lesson!😁 Thank you!
Thanks Niels! I have an even bigger studio update coming...
I'm about to watch this video and I'm sure that I'm going to learn something new and valuable from this
Heck yes!
Being able to find the awesome beats in the rather boring is what makes a good drummer in my humble opinion. Great to see more lessons from you!
I appreciate that! More to come!
@@DrumBeatsOnline Awesome man!
One of the best vídeos you made, what a great lesson! Congrats Gabe!!
I know the masking of the words at 4:10 wasn't easy. I respect that, those little details are what make your videos so clean.
Much needed lesson Gabe. Thank you 🙌🙌🙌
So glad you liked it Joyson!
Video editing skill is on point
❤️❤️
Gabe ....you make it sounds so easy and clean!! Thanks Liam 🏴🇺🇸🥁🔥👏😳

🙏🏽🙏🏽
Such a good teacher! Made me realize how much I need to rework on my skills haha
Thanks so much dude! Means a lot.
When the opportunity arises (if you haven't already), join DBO academy. I've been a member for nearly a week and it's already changed the way I think and approach the drums. My playing has never felt so good.
It's really helpful :)
Thanks gabe!
You are very welcome!
Now this is one of the best videos you have put up in a while! Awesome approach to rudiments, more realistic than just a pad! Thanks Gave!
That means a lot! So happy to hear you liked it!
@@DrumBeatsOnline More than liked it, It helped me "realize" how rudiments in fact apply to the kit.! It was USE-FULL!
@@DrumBeatsOnline By the way, do not worry about those moments when "inspiration leaves", it is ok. It is unrealistic to expect anyone to have the same level of energy all the time, look at nature and find strength, even nature has its rests... winter... If Gabe pretends or let other around to let him surrender to their expectations, that will only extend the period of "winter". Let Winter be for we know after winter comes Spring! ;) Your eyes look tired... Rest My Friend, Rest... I hope that just as I receive your instruction on drums, you would receive what I share, without expectation, only shearing as a candle shares its flame yet it doesn't diminish its own... Rest Now My Friend.
Loved this one man! This is exactly how I practice - great vid ❤️
So glad you enjoyed it!
This is your best lesson yet man! So clean looking and your cinematic shots are looking sweet af, so inspiring dude!

Glad you liked it!
Just got my new pair of drumsticks and a practice pad and here you are......what a coincident.

I love it when you say hello my beautiful friends
Bro!!! This is my favourite Rudiment.
I do it to increase hand speed and I enjoy the way you used different surfaces I can do this on my bed and pillows
That's awesome! Glad you like it!
As I got farther into the video I found a lot of this stuff are things I already do while learning by ear but without understanding the underlying theory behind it, so thanks for clarifying that.
My pleasure, Jordan!
Gabe do you have a live drumcam of i prevail scars
Love ya, man! 🥁
❤️❤️
I like the way the background looks good job on the whole vid
🙏🏽🙏🏽
yeah dude paradiddle diddles have always been my favorite rudiment they are crazy useful
makes sixlet fills crazy easy
Good stuff!
So glad you like it Markus!
Gabe is pearl export xx kit is good
#keeppushingforward 🔥💯
Kinda funny, because that pretty much what I've been practicing tonight. Pretty cool tough to see you make it too another level and see all you can do with that.
And by the way, is good to see you back.
Amazing video✌️
So glad you liked it!
Great tip
Glad you liked it!
increíble
There is probably enough material in this one video to keep me going for at least a year. Excellent stuff! He makes it look easy but once you take those rudiments and start moving around the kit, that becomes the test of whether or not you actually know the rudiment. The new sounds you hear will throw you off but don’t give up. Keep practicing! You’ll get it eventually. *And don’t forget to reverse hand order.
When I saw that Gabe posted a new video, I literally made a sandwich and watched
That is the recommended way to watch all DBO videos!
@@DrumBeatsOnline I just finished my salad so this was a sweet desert! 😜
Gabe can i request to have a studio tour excited to see your new arrangements.
Yes please
Coming up soon!
@@DrumBeatsOnline waiting
🤘Your videos and instruction are definitely getting more creative. Love it. I also noticed something about the studio....
Is just me or do we, as drummers, like to collect Snares?
My favourite rudiment!
I feel that!
I love your set up! When are you going to show off all of those snares 😄
Very soon!

Hi Gabe, i was just wondering what is your favorite band of double bass pedals? Or which ones to you prefer more?
Please tell me how to control left hand
awesome video but what happened to the studio makeover series :c
0:28 I was worried for a second that there was going to a Raid: Shadow Legend endorsement first.
haha lol, they wont even leave the drummers
That studio ? 🤤
🙏🏽
I mean... I see what your point is but I think at this point, if you want to be able to play the last step quickly, the most efficient would be to start working on it directly as it's so far away from the original paradiddle diddle... But in the end I agree, working on your rudiments is great, applying them on the kit is better !
Gabe have you tidied up the studio? 🙃
Which was your hardest beat growing up
Hello Gabe are you a friend of drumeo
1:43 and 2:30 is so fast :)
❤️
🙏🏽
Though you're late with the videos, unbalanced stats I mean... Your videos are just as amazing and informative as before ❤️🔥 BIG FAN🔥
So glad you are enjoying them!
Im about to drum this christmas please help me how to draw in worship song
Epic lesson.
My brain always goes "boom" though when I try to change a rudiment which is in triplets in to eighth notes. Yet..
Never a problem changing a pattern which is eighth notes in to triplets.
Weird.
I will persist!
#keeppushingforward!
This has definitely helped improve it.
Whoa cool drum set
If i had that too im not going to stop worshiping God
What is a rudiment?
A simple thing that goes r l r l rl!!?
Everyone should know that!
You actually counted the rudiment out wrong.
It wouldn't be 1 & a 2 & a
Its more 1 la li 2 la li
What you counted is a set of eighth notes with a sixteenth note on the end.
Similar to the cadence of a horse galloping.
When you displace it, that’s a 6 stroke roll
I might as well just stop taking irl 101 lessons
The first time someone gave you a pad and said play rudiments....Ummmm it took me three tries to even get close enough auto correct would work
First view and like
Yo are u actually going to trow away u pad
