    Bro you always seem to know what im thinking on your vids. You are the best. Love your new kit too

  • @RudolfHorvath
    @RudolfHorvath 3 роки тому +2

    To be honest, I think we drummers are overthinking fills. I get it, it is a chance to show your chops but nobody but us care about what we actually play. I realized it when I played to my non-musician friends and they told me they like simpler fills better than those difficult as they thought it carried the intention better and flowed easier into the song sections.
    And this is an important thing I think. It is a mindset change, don't think about your fills as little drum solos. Instead think of them what they really are, a transition from section A to section B and a good fill is a fill that connects them the best.

    Gabe, you are a metaphorically speaking... a granted wish for me, someone who just truly delves into what you're explaining...knowing that you could probably be doing a million other things in your life right now, but instead.... you are taking the time to explain to new (and old for that matter) drummers, all of these....well, for lack of better terms, mental little sticky notes, that you've made to yourself, along the way you have traveled.
    I have spent a good chunk of my Pandemic isolation with your informative videos, and I have to tell you that I so very much appreciate the way you have continued focusing on one of your talents... teaching. - And on behalf of the internet, thank you for that. You truly have made me a better drummer within a year.
