    WARNING! READ THIS BEFORE GOING OFF THIS VIDEO!! Just a heads up…. That “pop” you were hearing was not your cams or phasers…. That “popping” noise is your chain skipping down lower due to bad Hydraulic tensioner(s) and or worn sprockets. If you look, your cams weren’t doing anything to make any noise. There’s nothing they can do to make a popping noise like that….To anyone that hears this noise, listen closely or use a stethoscope and you will hear that the noise is coming from down lower and when you remove the front cover go a head and spin tue engine clockwise again and you will see the chain slip…. I’ve done a ton of these and 99 percent of the time you will watch the chain slip on the bottom gear. This isn’t anything negative to the content creator as he’s trying to help…. When doing this job since you’re this deep replace all of the tensioners, sprockets, chains oil pump and if needed valves and valve seals.

    Yea do yourself a favor and replace all cam phasers and oil pump. It’s an extra 300 but better than rebuying everything all over again. Learn from me, my cloyes set lasted 15k because of a bad phaser. Broken the yellow plastic guide on bank 1 and bent all intake valves. 1200 later I’m up and running again all because of a 67 dollar cam phaser.

      I just changed my crankshaft, rod bearings, oil pump, cam phasers, and timing chains kit, exhaust solenoid and my engine is at 10 psi oil pressure which is the minimum. Any idea why it’s so low? It’s a 2010 Camaro 3.6

    Change your oil every 4 to 5 thousand miles, and check your oil level, use a good quality synthetic oil, Delos standard, and you will not have problems.

      DAMN! That engine & Cam-phasers look awfully varnished in the Cam-Valleys!! Dear Lord......
      On my 2015 LTZ (70,000 mi now), I've added a Cup of Seafoam to my Oil about 500 miles before I get it changed. ALWAYS Mobil-1. NEVER more than 5,000 mile intervals either! My baby runs smooth & STRONG. Also use SF in the gas once a month. Used regularly over time, SF really helps keep things clean in an engine like an LFX. Regular use will help you AVOID issues like this in the first place!!!

      ive changed mine with mobile 1 every 5k miles and always checked and topped off if needed , still need to replace my chains. the mechinism that feeds oil to the chains on the ltt just sucks, gm even put out a bulitin and special kit specific for this known issue.

      @jamesgamerguy3 Рік тому +1

      @@markbaumgartner7261 yeah, supposedly they fixed the issue on the 2012 and newer v6 models. Other then that the engines are pretty good. 110k miles till it needed new chains isn’t bad in my opinion, that’s about when most cars start having a ton of issues

      @@jamesgamerguy3 Funny how the 5.0 in my 2019 Mustang Gt is a multi valve engine and it doesn't have timing chain issues. Even the Northstar Cadillac didn't have chain issues. It had head bolt issues but once you put the studs in it it was fine , had the occasional oil leak. You would think GM could made the chains better. The 3.6 was developed by Cadillac.

      This is the truth. Dorman simply doesn't have the technology to recreate cam phasers. Same with the Ford 5.4.. do NOT buy generic cam phasers- only O.E.M. or you will have problems. Or should.

    Hi corey, are u sure about the stage 2 timing removing all the chains and not doing it in two stages ,my mechanic done it all in one stage ,stage 2 now i have multiple misfires and he says it was done corectly which doesn't make sense as the car was running fine before it, exept for a code that came up a p0008 .

    • @jamesgamerguy3
      @jamesgamerguy3 Рік тому +1

      @jimmys1164 another common issue is changing the chains without changing the sprokets and phasers , often times causes the chain to jump as the old teeth are worn out and cause timing difficulties

      He replaced Bank 2, exhaust cam phaser.
      (he said Bank 1 and Bank 2 wrong in the vid)
      B1 is cyl 1 3 5, B2 is cyl 2 4 6
      In the video, while facing the engine, Left is B1, right is B2.
      Though B1 is named RightHand (RH) and B2 is LeftHand (LH) (from drivers seat)
      In all wheel or front wheel drive vehicle, the engine is sideways so B1 is along the firewall blanket, while B2 is near radiator.
