    Thanks for the video. Just did it on my wife’s car, 2014 hatchback. That top one sucked, had to use air tools. I didn’t replace the washers, guess I’ll do it next time. How often do you recommend changing the fluid?

    Fair warning about over tightening, over torquing the plugs! You are dealing with steel plugs and an aluminum case. Many have stripped the differential or CVT threads. I almost did trying to torque the front differential overflow tube plug to spec. Not worth it. Tighten enough and call it good.

    Do you by chance have the part number of the seal or crush washer that is used? You obviously replaced both, right?

    I'll be doing my wife's 2013 Impreza this coming week. I've heard to expect the rear diff to use 1/2" square drive on both plugs (which don't use crush washers). Did they switch to a different diff in 2013 or was I being BS'd by the parts counter guy?! Are the fluid capacities you just gave for a 2012 the same for 2013? Your thoughts on Amsoil? Thanks!

      I don't think it changed... I believe the 2012 was the first model year for the new Impreza... How did it go?

      My 2014 has 1/2" square drive on both plugs, and they're very stubborn. The diff cover has no cooling fins like yours does.

    Does it need any extra additives?

    How often should I change?

    • @CarsandEspresso
      @CarsandEspresso  8 місяців тому

      Great question... seems like after 30k, but before 60K... split the difference? Also, it depends on how hard you are on your vehicle... 45K-ish
