How to use Shortcuts App on Mac

This is the second in a series of videos for beginners wanting to learn How to use Shortcuts App on Mac, that was added in Mac OS Monterey.
In this video I will be giving an overview of how to build a basic shortcut by using one or more actions from tos available in the actions picker.
The examples I use here are the single action to create a QR code form a URL and then also how to stack multiple actions together into a single shortcut, in this case to open a bunch of apps and /or files and then to close down a number of apps.... something that is useful when setting up your working environment for a specific workflow

Great series of videos. I really appreciate it since I am new to shortcuts. When I open a second shortcut it does not come up as a tab but in a new window. Did they changes this or is there a setting I need to use the tabs display? Thanks.
Interesting. Looks similar to Keyboard Meastro (you can probably do everything in KM that you can do in shortcuts and more) so would be interested to see what your specific workflow is and when/if you would use bOTH
Hey Chris! You’re certainly right about KM being able to do more…. I’m not switching any time soon for all of my Mac stuff. I really started looking into it when Ecamm live added the shortcuts integration to trigger shortcuts when you start end a broadcast etc…. This is surely just the start of their plans for shortcuts integration so I wanted to be on top of it! I appreciate that although I try and demystify KM, there are lots of people who just can’t get their head around it for one reason or another, whilst Shortcuts has got a more Apple like drag and drop approach to building things with fewer controls on screen. Another obvious benefit of Shortcuts is that it is cross platform and so people can build things that work on both iOS and Mac OS, although there are some things to consider when doing that. I short, I’ll not be switching from KM any time soon, but good to have another tool in the tool box. 😊

It was added into Ecamm Live v3.10 (the latest release) and you can find it in preferences under the shortcuts tab…. I covered it when it was in the Beta and in the all new features of 3.10 video…. ua-cam.com/video/TQbPf0BQw6s/v-deo.html (about 45 seconds in to this video)

How do I run a keyboard command? There doesn't seem to be a function for this? It's kind of confusing as I have to click on the "i" button and then I see Add Keyboard Shortcut but it's at the top of the list? Really confusing.

Hmmmmm..... looks like some sort of malware. Must have slipped in when I forgot to update my Mac Antivirus software.
