If you go into settings of the video (where you select video resolution, enable captions etc.) you can slow down the video by selecting slower speed. Also, you can use J and L keyboard buttons to rewind and fast forward 10 secs. Hope this helps
Man, I've been using Alfred for a while but for simple tasks, I didn't know some of its other functions. I even downloaded most of the apps recommended on the 10 best Mac Productivity Apps video and it's a nice quality of life change. Love Macs and Mac OS . Thanks Jeff. Hi Jeff! This is great. Haven't you tried Raycast? It's so much nicer designed and even better in functionality and usability than Alfred! In my workflow, it replaced my Alfred completely. You should definitely give it a chance! Cheers.

How could I use this to launch Apple's Mail and Photos and other applications? It works fine for web searches and for opening Spotify but not for Photos or Mail.
From using Alfred? That's actually a really good question, I never thought about it. When I check my activity monitor I don't see Alfred using up a lot of power though
Alfred gives me social anxiety. Most of my friends, and my favorite productivity UA-camr 👆, use the heck out of it, but I never really found the impetus to learn. I just don't feel like any of the tasks I do are so onerously repetitive that I need to create a separate workflow to deal with it. Am I living my life wrong? 😂

Can any one help, i paid for alfred app in ipad after installing i get to know that it needed 2 apple devices to work, and i have only one ipad .. i was completely unaware of this matter now my money just got wasted.
@JeffSu Yes, sir there is.actually i use my ipad as my computer. I saw your and some of other youtubers vedio and installed it. I thought just install and boom it will replace spot light. I am completely un-aware what it will need 2 Apple devices.
I don't go super complex with workflows BUT making simple workflows to open and set up processes that you normally go through constantly can be super helpful. When I start a work day I have a workflow that opens every website and app that I need with one Keyword that I made with alfred. To do this just go to workflows -make a new workflow -then right click go to ACTIONS and then add "Launch apps/files" -Add any files or apps you want to open -Link each one to the start of the workflow where the "keyword" is -Then set a keyword that you will search to launch this workflow -LASTLY HUGE* make sure on the keyword block "no argument" is selected ^You can set up workflows to launch processes for every part of your work day. This is so helpful especially if you create content because you launch processes like "Import new shoot" you can make your own workflow that will launch all the folders or applications you would need right away to organize media. Or have it launch a template file for a new video edit with a keyword like "new video" It just speeds life up because you can quickly program the things you do all the time and take the thinking out of it.
Question - not sure if this is due to settings that I have checked off, but is there a way for alfred to search within specific native mac apps? This might be a more specific use case, but i always use spotlight search to navigate to a specific spot in settings - eg. if i search keyboard shortcuts in spotlight, it'll bring me to the exact spot in system settings for keyboard shortcuts But if i try to search in alfred, it doesn't give me any options like that
Great question! I don't think the integration is that deep! I totally agree with you though, right now I have to use Alfred to navigate to Keyboard > Keyboard shorcuts (2 steps)

I don't think I've made a YT comment in might life, but when you showed how to do a Google search from Alfred my jaw dropped. At the same time I thought the video stopped working, but then I looked and saw the face you were making; you knew it'd get people! Ha!
I hope someone can help me. The thing is file searching feature doesn't work. I am sure that it has access full disk. But still doesn't work as expected
@Jeff Su Many thanks ~~ 😁 I solved the problem by reindexing the whole system files. I suppose the reason why my index was broken is last time the mac transferring didn't go well. by reindexing I also fixed some weird problem I encountered while using finder to search the current file(before that when I tried to search the current file. I got nothing)

But let it be, I explored many of the Raycast features in 1 week, and loved it. I downloaded Alfred just to check it out. I think the free Alfred version could be lightweight and very good for someone who wants Mac and web searches.
I installed Google Drive, but when I do Command+Space -> Space and try to search for files and folder, nothing is found in the google drive folders. What am I doing wrong?

First off, I have to say, your response time is nothing short of impressive - quicker than Usain Bolt! 😄 My apologies for the confusion in my initial question; perhaps a bit of sleeplessness on my end led to a less than clear inquiry. What I was trying to ask pertains to optimising my workflow with Notion, especially as I dive deep into Thomas Frank's Ultimate Brain setup. Currently, navigating to specific pages or content within Notion can be quite a journey for me, often requiring 7-10 clicks, particularly for items I don't access daily. I use Notion in Chrome on a Mac desktop. My question is about the current best practices for accessing Notion content more efficiently. Specifically, I'm wondering if Alfred, in conjunction with the Notion web version accessed through Chrome, is still the dream team for quick access? Or is this seamless integration only achievable with the Notion desktop app? I wanted to use Alfred like you: CMD plus space bar but wasn't sure if it apply to how I use Notion via the web browser or if there's a newer, more efficient solution out there. Thanks a ton!
Good job! BTW, you can set the Alfred key to command command. It's faster and easier than the cmd space chord, and you can keep Spotlight -- although I'm not sure why anyone will need it. Also, cmd cmd ' will search files. Cmd cmd cmd , will open prefs.

I solved the problem by reindexing the whole system files. I suppose the reason why my index was broken is last time the mac transferring didn't go well.
by reindexing I also fixed some weird problem I encountered while using finder to search the current file(before that when I tried to search the current file. I got nothing)

How can you open Mac general settings from Alfred?
Alfred command bar > Preferences (or type in System settings)

But let it be, I explored many of the Raycast features in 1 week, and loved it.
I downloaded Alfred just to check it out. I think the free Alfred version could be lightweight and very good for someone who wants Mac and web searches.

I am a frecuently user Google Drivestream for managing files in cloud and share with my team mates and everything works good but when I tried find any file with Alfred app, I couldn't. Do you know why Alfred can´t find Google Drivestream's files?

Sorry what is Google Drivestream? Do you mean Google Drive for Desktop? You can't search for files in it using finder or Alfred unfortunately

First off, I have to say, your response time is nothing short of impressive - quicker than Usain Bolt! 😄 My apologies for the confusion in my initial question; perhaps a bit of sleeplessness on my end led to a less than clear inquiry.
What I was trying to ask pertains to optimising my workflow with Notion, especially as I dive deep into Thomas Frank's Ultimate Brain setup. Currently, navigating to specific pages or content within Notion can be quite a journey for me, often requiring 7-10 clicks, particularly for items I don't access daily. I use Notion in Chrome on a Mac desktop.
My question is about the current best practices for accessing Notion content more efficiently.
Specifically, I'm wondering if Alfred, in conjunction with the Notion web version accessed through Chrome, is still the dream team for quick access? Or is this seamless integration only achievable with the Notion desktop app? I wanted to use Alfred like you: CMD plus space bar but wasn't sure if it apply to how I use Notion via the web browser or if there's a newer, more efficient solution out there.

Good job! BTW, you can set the Alfred key to command command. It's faster and easier than the cmd space chord, and you can keep Spotlight -- although I'm not sure why anyone will need it. Also, cmd cmd ' will search files. Cmd cmd cmd , will open prefs.

I have always used the Comments field without Alfred.
It is useful but you have to look to see if it has anything in it, not as useful as it could be.

Nah I think it's by design. Google Drive for Mac is like a "virtual drive"
