Is there any way to create a shortcut to turn and turn off location services ? In Android we can do it from notification bar but in iPhone we need to go to Privacy -> Location Services and toggle it ON whenever using maps......Is it possible to add location services to Control centre or automate this via shortcut where in whenever i open Google maps/or any app requiring location, the location services should get ON and OFF after certain time automatically

Honestly, I only recently found your channel from a recommendation of another channel (I forgot which one), but I honestly believe that your channel deserves all the views & likes. I love your clear diction and voice, as well as the fact that you talk slowly enough so that I can use the speed-up option (nothing personal, I am like that with any video content); also your visual tutorials are spot on! I am getting inspiration on how to make things for my work projects (I'm maintaining a lot of documentation and how-to guides).
Simply brilliant work! Looking forward to new content 🙏

I often dip my toe into shortcuts but then get frustrated and leave. I have a couple set up for arriving at work and heading home. I ride a motorbike so the arrival sends my wife a message saying I got to work safe, it then changes the focus on my phone and my watch to ‘work’. The heading home sends a message with my ETA home, then sets my phone and watch to the normal focus. 👍👍

I’m impressed that you understand that A) many of us who are competent in both computers and iPhone functions get lost in the Shortcuts maze & B) that there isn’t a basic Shortcut tutorial on UA-cam. That’s a pretty good observation. Anticipating what an audience is going to think, at the time or slightly before they’ve actually thought it, makes one excellent in the process of communications. A valuable quality for anyone, but especially for those providing the service of teaching lessons. As a presenter, your inner confidence mixed with the calming sound of your voice uplifts your credibility. And after all is said and done, the most important thing in being successful in the online world is credibility. From the early days of eBay and Amazon, those who recognized its importance and sought it are still around and kicking. Those who did not are not. Keep up the good work. I for one appreciate it.

@@ProperHonestTech Your welcome. I wanted to add that if the USA is someplace that you’d like to live, I have no doubts - that with proper management - you can gain on air exposure that’ll land you in wherever you choose. A realistic strategy would be to start with a daily tech minute or two, run 6 times a day on radio. There are 50 states, most have many local stations, all told about 200 unique signals. Each pays to run your spot, price is determined by reach and overall station ratings - for example if you got half of the uniques, that’s 100 and if the average revenue was $50 a day, 5 times a day that’s $25k a week. Getting by money and exposure. Management would seek the television, like a show on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) or PBS, FNC, CNN or CNET etc. - podcasts could become a bridge to build an audience, don’t know the $ - was before my time - I have no agenda except to see if my gift of recognizing talent before others is still active - my Rolodex final viable contact was 411 which was the phone company’s information number on obtaining a phone number by giving the operator the person’s name. - but they folded, just like the Yellow Pages a couple decades back - good luck in all your endeavors, see you on the aptly named UA-cam - and maybe on my local radio station and on National TV

I’ve started creating my own shortcuts lately. First one I have is fairly simple, but helpful. I put my phone on Airplane mode every night and also set an alarm to wake up with the kids. Set up a shortcut that every time I put my phone on airplane mode, it toggles “on” my morning alarm. And when I wake up, and take my phone off airplane mode, it toggles my alarm off. I think I can even set the schedule for it to do this automatically but I haven’t gotten there yet. Shortcuts are going to be very fun for me to continue to explore and very useful.

Fabulously lucidly explained as all your tutorials are. Whenever people enthuse about shortcuts I am struck by how they are describing circumstances I never am in or functions for which I never have any use. This did nothing to convince me either and again described 'needs' that are never part of my day. Just as an aside, I've just done the mail a screenshot exercise manually, it took me 7 seconds, I'm not so busy that 7 seconds is crucial! My ears did prick up at the delaying text message feature you mentioned which I have explored and discarded in the past because it was useless and when I checked it still is the same as it was in that you have to leave the shortcut app open and the screen unlocked for it to work which remains beyond useless.
That said, you remain the first port of call for excellent information.

Most of this video I already know, however the way you explain this, i know the rest of the videos i am going to master the shortcuts app.
Anyway manythanks and I’m off to the next lesson

Thanks A BUNCH! I’ve been using this theme for about a while now but I don’t have much of the apps I use, so I’ll use this to blend it in!

I would like to say thank you. I like the way you present clearly, tasks which will help me as a pensioner to do things on my iPad and iPhone, tasks which I didn’t know about or didn’t know how to do. So my sincere thanks. Love and peace. Tim

The shortcuts app is fantastic. Recently I created a shortcut for merging images. I use it to stitch screenshots of the same thing to have it in one file.

Very well explained. You are a natural!
I love the idea of shortcuts but for the life of me, I can’t think of one shortcut that I would use or one that would save me time.
I have got a couple on my watch though. The Face changes when I get up and at sunset.

I agree and I’m 100% in the same boat as you. I really want to use shortcuts and have looked at it periodically over the last couple years but still haven’t found, or come up with, one idea that I would use regularly.
Even the first shortcut example presented here is redundant (I realize the author is just using it as an example of what can be done). I simply ask Siri to facetime my contact and it is done. I don’t need a shortcut for that.
Still, I recognize the potential and see the power this app has. I’m just waiting for the killer idea or need to come along…and waiting, and waiting, and waiting…🤔😂

@@pat5star there’s simpler ideas for it rather than the automated stuff. For example you can set up up to 8 accessible shortcuts that you can reach from the Lock Screen by swiping right. I have “Amazon orders “ as one which saves you from opening the phone, then going to Amazon then clicking on orders. A simple right swipe then click and you’re there. You can do the same for any website’s particular page.
