    As a West Ham fan who watches Rice on a daily basis, he truly is a world class player. Works his ass off nonstop. I don't think I've ever seen a game where he's been less than an 8, 9, or 10 out of 10. Incredible player, a class act on and off the pitch, and a born leader. Surely the future captain of England.

    Great video. I do think what u might be getting wrong is Rice can't really do what Partey does cuz he is not a press resistant player. But he would sure improve on Xhaka and the entire team. He would also be required to make those runs Xhaka makes as it creates an extra attacker in the box. Rice doesn't only improve Arsenal, Arsenal will add a lot more to his attacking game. Just my humble opinion

    Rice has better stats because West Ham spends a lot more time off the ball than Arsenal. Agreed he's still better than Partey defensively, but Partey is a class above Rice on the ball. Watch the first half against man city at the emirates, he completely dominated the City midfield. He dropped in form in the last 5 games, but he was the best 6 after Rodri last season. The biggest attribute required from a 6 in Artetas system is the ability to control the ball and beat the press in very high pressured situations. Rice can't do it anywhere close to as well as Partey. So he maybe an upgrade on Xhaka, but definitely not Partey.

      You think what Partey does for Arsenal in the heart of midfield as a single pivot is easy to do. There is an agenda to overly hype Rice quality, he is bang average and we will see it. Partey has vision and a combative composure to match. Westham with Rice still could not finish 10th on the league table, I'm sure they will do well without him. There can only be one Partey, class is something you can't teach ...😅

    I think taking specific metrics to create a narrative can be quite misleading where Partey is concerned. Firstly, because of the way Arsenal set up, Partey is bound to have numbers that aren't as great as far as those defensive metrics are concerned. If Partey was playing for West Ham, who have a much more defensive set up, then Partey would have those number as well or better (if he stayed fit).
    Also, when comparing who the better player is, you have to look at other aspects of the game, Partey's passing is elite and he's very mobile and can make great one-touch moves to make space and make deft passes as well as drive in with the ball. Rice isn't a better player than Partey but he certainly is better than Xhaka and would be miles better in that left 8 role. Partey is absolute quality he's just not fit, which is where the problem is and where Rice comes in. A midfield of Partey, Odegaard and Rice will be ELITE! I cannot wait for it. But like you said, Rice can play the Partey role aswell and in time he could do it even better. I just hope the deal gets done soon!
    Great video btw.

  • @John-hd2ux
    @John-hd2ux Рік тому +14

    I think you overate him. Statswise, his numbers are heavily influenced by the team he plays in. Hence why judging saliba and gabriel vs others cbs for tackles doesn't reflect their play as Arsenal dominate the ball. He will be a massive difference defensively in the midfield.

    My man, Rice the best no6 inPL???
    You haven’t watched Rodri?
    Partey is not benched by Rice at his best. There’s no need for Partey to win the ball like Rice because at Arsenal, Arteta insists on the entire team winning back the ball, rarely is Partey ever called in to win the ball. Partey doesn’t need to make those stupid long runs and tackles like Rice because the team is super organized and everyone contributes to getting the ball back and Partey is tasked with supervising a certain area with or without the ball. What Partey and Rodri do is elite! Insane. Rice played for a terrible team so he’ll work harder than Partey and gather stats like that more, but he’s not better than these two! Arsenal is very organized;
    That’s because we use our front players to start pressing aggressively IMMEDIATELY we lose the ball.
    Rice is NOT better than Partey. Arterta wants to replace Partey long term and reduce his minutes or take advantage of availability of a good player in the next season or so.
    City key players played far less minutes than Arsenal key players last season. That’s how they caught up with Arsenal.
    I do agree with your profile of both Harvetz and Mount; Rice the best no6 in PL??? Naaaah!

And I never denied his natural press resistance and technical ability, if anything I argue he's superior to players like Rodri in that regards. But he also never had the temperament of slowing the game down and controlling the midfield as an ideal JDP 6 would. Based on last season, I'd say Rodri was the best, Rice 2nd, Casemiro 3rd and Partey 4th when it comes to best no. Sixes in EPL

      @@viggimahe2808 lol dude, Rice is not a better player than Casemiro and the stats prove that in abundance.

      @@darthplagueis8886 Yes he is not YET. Casemiro is multi time UCL winner, and one of the best in his position but last season Rice was a better CDM than Casemiro, look at the stats and you will know yourself, No. 1 at Interceptions and Ball recoveries in the entire EPL.

      People REALLY disrespect PArtey bro it's appalling. Mans quaity, they don't watch him play they just look at stats which more often than not are misleading when looked at in isloation.

    Declan Rice is going to Manchester City or Manchester United. 100 %. Arsenal have no chance. You can come back to this comment after Arsenal screw up Declan Rice and Caceido. Edu is useless

    Absolute nonsense, defensively yeah rice is better, but technically partey is on a different planet than him.
    Its funny how u didn't compare Partey and rice directly in all statistical metrics, neither did u put forward caveats that could inflate both players stats.
