On the Liverpool goal… for the entire match Raya was quick out of his line; Saliba blindly assumed Raya would continue to do so Not saying Saliba didn’t make the error but it is understandable considering the play of Raya for the entirety of the first half
Another component of the first goal which I think is really important is exploiting the way Van Dijk defends and the lack of situational awareness from Van Dijk too Arsenal pretty much have always been that team that thrive off of quick passes, Playing through the lines rather than taking players on 1v1, Traditionally Arsenal attacks slow down and fizzle out if you force them to beat you 1v1, They are much more comfortable passing around you (Which has tactical advantages and doesn't require as much physical effort) but ultimately can be stopped in situations like the first goal by not trying to press up on Odegaard, It's Martinelli vs Konate, Gomes vs Saka and Van Dijk dropping in means Van Dijk vs Havertz with Odegaard as the free man, Get numbers behind the ball, Give your other players the chance to recover, Try to make the next pass happen infront of you, Slow the play down, If Odegaard doesn't pass then force a long range shot (less likely to go in) The moment Van Dijk steps up and vacates that CB role is the moment it becomes a proper scoring chance Most likely if Van Dijk drops in then the pass from Odegaard after driving forward a little bit will go to Saka out wide, Odegaard doesn't usually run behind the line so from Saka it will go back to Odegaard and then it becomes slower, More time to recover, It falls back into tactical/rhythmic play from Arsenal and you force them to create another chance (not easily done) Alternatively if that pass from Odegaard goes to Havertz infront of the defence the play dies out there and then, Havertz doesn't play well infront of the defence, Before he even joined Arsenal everyone knew his game was late runs into the box and running in behind defences. Anyway, Hindsight is 20/20 as they say
From a liverpool fan you could clearly see they wanted it more and they forced us into playing poorly usually we’d absorb the pressure but we made poor mistakes costing us the game fair play arsenal makes this title race more interesting the best title race I’ve seen in a long while
It's because media like SkySports rather focus on something trivial instead of analyzing how each game played so the fan also didn't pay attention to the game

@@snaggiz Spot on. He doesn't seem to remain static and attracts opponents by moving smartly without the ball. I also like how he is willing to engage in physical battles in the air and on the ground.
@@HerFatherDidntLikeMe this is one skill that I’d love to be able to teach young players. You play most of your game without the ball as a footballer. That’s reality, so what Kai does is genuinely extremely impressive because he finds ways of having an impact without even touching the ball sometimes and to do that in on an elite level game… yeah, Kai doesn’t get enough praise for how good he is in this regard.
@@snaggiz I agree completely with you. It's a great skill to keep focused on the parts of the game when you/your team don't have the ball. Some players never fully develop that aspect of the game.
Great analysis as per usual, best any team has played against us (Liverpool) this season. Also agree that Arsenal are entitled to celebrate the win, naturally grates on opposition fans but so it should and we were mostly just annoyed we got outplayed anyway.
the first goal happened because of one touch passing, instead of the plodding passing to feet that arteta's arsenal are usually guilty of, especially against low block teams. the speed of movement pressures the defense into making disjointed decisions, breaking down their structure and making recovery even more difficult (due to having to overcome chaotic momentum). yes formations are nice and all but not seizing on positional advantage in the very narrow windows that open just kills the offense, as has often been the case this season
i think it still can work high up the pitch in the 18 yard box, like the wilshere goal vs norwich...they should just do that every game :P@@eitanwoloski5822
But you miss the fact that teams that sit in a low block don't give any space for such moves to work. They literally sit. It's through those multiple touches that they get to move those players, before the trigger pass when a channel opens up.
I’m curious, as an Arsenal fan, our biggest weakness last season and this season is that we have a random dip in form against low block teams. How do we correct this? These games are so frustrating to watch because we’re trying to over engineer our way into the box when there’s 11 opposing players in there. Don’t understand why we cant figure a way to play reverse psychology on them and sit back ourselves and bait them out to be able to play counter attacking football instead?
Thank you thank you thank you for your intelligent breakdwon of these games. Not just the Arsenal ones (which I enjoy the most), but all of your tactical breakdowns. You are a joy to listen to. Well done.

Any Win in the top six is worth a real celebration. As a fan of The Arsenal I was expecting a loss or at best a draw. This was a Spectacular result that the boys should be proud of. Keep up the good work, your game analysis is always entertaining and inciteful
Thank you for the breakdown. I was expecting something like this from Neville and Carragher but they were far too busy to complain about Arsenal's celebration and claim Arsenal didn't play well.
The only thing that really matters is the first goal because that's Arsenal undoing Liverpool. The second goal is Liverpool undoing themselves and the third goal is a goal you score when a team is a man down and has no defensive structure. For me, I think you're not giving Liverpool a hard enough time with how poorly it was defended. Very well worked by Arsenal, but shit defending on a few levels. To me, Trent triggers the problem because he elects to leave his man and go challenge the ball. That triggers Konate to leave his position and move to the wing, it leaves Van Dijk marking a ton of space, and it leave MacAllister to track Havertz back into the CB position. Trent's thinking wasn't 100% wrong, but his implementation was very flawed. It was flawed because he took a half measure. He didn't actually press Zinchenko. He went half in allowing Zinchenko to play a pass. He should have pressed hard or fouled him. There's another reason why Trent made a mistake. He had no help. Gakpo and Gravenberch are 15-20 yards behind play and not closing any ground. So the press just isn't on in anyway. But this also speaks to a problem Liverpool have when playing Gakpo and Gravenberch. They aren't very helpful when defending on the counter. Both are slow. Both have a low defensive work rate. Both are not very intense. So it allows Arsenal to get an advantage in numbers. Trent forces the switch and the switch opens up the whole team. Arsenal absolutely deserve credit for executing their tactics and taking advantage of what Liverpool gave them, but at it's core, this is equally a huge Liverpool failure. Simply put, Trent made a bad decision to step up and he had no strong side help from the forward and midfielder on his side. Trent didn't recognize the situation, why he deserves blame, but Gakpo and Gravenberch not being in the picture, deserve a lot of blame too.
@@Aquaflange As I explained, Konate had to go to the right because Trent left. Van Dijk had to slide to RCB because Konate left. MacAllister was left to cover everything else. The space was opened because Arsenal "forced" Trent up and Trent was "forced" up because Grav & Cody were out of position.
What broken Liverpool was having to start Gravenburch and Gakpo because of recent injuries to Mo, Szobo and Endo still being at the Asian cup. Made Arsenals life really easy in midfield when we were essentially operating with two against four whilst Gravenburch stat in the stands eating popcorn.
Every time Alisson faces a shot from Trossard, you can't help but wonder if he's having flashbacks to that unforgettable Trossard hat-trick nightmare at Anfield.... Back when Trossard played for Brighton.
He wasn't immense, it's bullsh&t, a top quality striker could have implemented this & if a top quality striker had been playing Arsenal would have scored 5 or 6...

After the death of TIFO and their amalgamation into the lifeless and joyless athletic, I think I've found my solution. Your subbed on fourfourtwo show em how it's done lad
I think Van Dijk played the ball over the top exactly as he wanted to because when the ball bounced Martinelli's only option was to bump him into the keeper's path. (Which worked PERFECTLY.)
for the Arsenal second goal Martinellis little nudge on Van Dyke chages his line slightly which makes Allison tap Van Dykes leg as he tries to clear, which then makes him miss the ball.
I was listening to the Arsenal Vision podcast and one of the things Tim Stillman said he thought contributed to that Martinelli goal, that you wouldn't experience on television, is that the wind was gusting massively all match. He said he felt like VVD has left the ball expecting it to travel far faster back to Allison than it actually did due to being held up by the wind.
It kind of amazes me that players: On top of being physically fit, strong, powerful, agile and fast- also think about these in-depth tactics whilst in a frantic 90 minute match of football. And that's credit to the manager for making all the slight adjustments and tactics digestable to understand. What did Arteta say during a presser once? There were 100 something odd formation changes, like how can you even manage that mid-game. Cool stuff, football tactics are so fun to watch after the match is done for this reason. Rant over
Ironically the thing that lost us this game is the extremely strong bond of trust between Alisson and VVD. For the 2 second goals if they didn’t trust each other as much as they do then both of them could have been stopped
Finally Arsenal get some credit for the way we tactically adapt to these kinds of games. It’s no accident exactly. Edit: even me as a Kai supporter, I wasn’t even clued onto how smart his movement was this game. Really great analysis. He really mind controlled the Liverpool defense through off ball moment.
I am not a regular viewer of FFT content so I just had some crazy whiplash seeing Adam Cleary. Had no idea he had left whatculture. Yes I'm a year behind.
I saw the Match from the 80th Minute, and I have to say that Haverts create this much hovace that Liverpool were terrified. He annoyed the whole backline
I know this doesn’t need discussion given the result but how was Kai not given a penalty? Mac Allister misses the ball and touches his leg enough to trip him up. That’s a pen and we’ve seen that given numerous times this season.
The ref was awful as always. Trigger happy against Arsenal and always keeping the on field decisions in favour of Liverpool so VAR couldn’t overturn anything unless it’s clear and obvious. Arsenal almost always play 12 men.
@@NakulKrishna while the red card to Konate makes me feel like there was no bias towards either side and overall incompetence in referee decisions still looms, Kai may be developing a notorious reputation of going down too easily.
The first goal was Liverpools own doing, TAA was always going to move into a more advanced position meaning Konate has the entire right side to defend alone so he moved across to cover Martinelli leaving a gap. VVD then stepped up to try and challenge Odegaard when he shouldn't have leaving all of the space for Havertz, He should have scored but luckily for us Saka was in position to finish it. The next 2 were just bizarre and then the sending off left them exposed at the back for Arsenals third Liverpool were poor which is very unlike them and you could tell they missed Szoboszlai and Salah but Arsenal were also on it He doesn't offer much in front of goal currently but I love Havertz playing through the middle for us, he brings both wingers and Odegaard into play and lets them all move forward ahead of him
I don’t think Trent didn’t come central because the threat of Martinelli, Gomez was inverting from the left as he has been doing recently. I think Bradley was going to play but sadly had to miss the game, so Trent who’s not fully fit yet just played the way Bradley was going to because that how they had trained and planned all week with Gomez inverting and ideally Trent would of just come of the bench with Nunez on 60 minutes to try and win it.
Thank you for giving Havertz his flowers - he played really well in this game.

Another component of the first goal which I think is really important is exploiting the way Van Dijk defends and the lack of situational awareness from Van Dijk too
Arsenal pretty much have always been that team that thrive off of quick passes, Playing through the lines rather than taking players on 1v1, Traditionally Arsenal attacks slow down and fizzle out if you force them to beat you 1v1, They are much more comfortable passing around you (Which has tactical advantages and doesn't require as much physical effort) but ultimately can be stopped in situations like the first goal by not trying to press up on Odegaard, It's Martinelli vs Konate, Gomes vs Saka and Van Dijk dropping in means Van Dijk vs Havertz with Odegaard as the free man, Get numbers behind the ball, Give your other players the chance to recover, Try to make the next pass happen infront of you, Slow the play down, If Odegaard doesn't pass then force a long range shot (less likely to go in)
The moment Van Dijk steps up and vacates that CB role is the moment it becomes a proper scoring chance
Most likely if Van Dijk drops in then the pass from Odegaard after driving forward a little bit will go to Saka out wide, Odegaard doesn't usually run behind the line so from Saka it will go back to Odegaard and then it becomes slower, More time to recover, It falls back into tactical/rhythmic play from Arsenal and you force them to create another chance (not easily done)
Alternatively if that pass from Odegaard goes to Havertz infront of the defence the play dies out there and then, Havertz doesn't play well infront of the defence, Before he even joined Arsenal everyone knew his game was late runs into the box and running in behind defences.
Anyway, Hindsight is 20/20 as they say
Great analysis, seen too many excuses for Liverpool, arsenal deserved it more than anyone I've seen against Liverpool
From a liverpool fan you could clearly see they wanted it more and they forced us into playing poorly usually we’d absorb the pressure but we made poor mistakes costing us the game fair play arsenal makes this title race more interesting the best title race I’ve seen in a long while
this is quality analysis bredda
Arteta is an amazing manager!! You cant outsmart someone like Klopp if ur shaiite
Really nice to see Havertz getting his flowers. Too many fans don't understand these small details in the game.
What the fuck does that mean? Sounds weird that
@@peterlpool1387 getting the credit he deserves, had a great game and should be praised for it.
It's because media like SkySports rather focus on something trivial instead of analyzing how each game played so the fan also didn't pay attention to the game
Arteta's intelligence, much like Havertz, is painful underrated

Good Havertz chose that particular forward play. Makes him one of the best itw.If he passes to Saka its offside. If he tries Alisson's right side a deflection would go to a liverpool player. If he tries looping Alison knows he likes a chip. So just try the left side and worse cse scenario, its deflected to Saka. The goal might be a moment of genius against one of the greatest shot stoppers in one v one situations.
His intelligence and movement off the ball is honestly top class. Bro literally mind controlled those liveroool defender through movement alone.
Oddegard was taking picture of the Arsenal photographer who documents their season at the club👍
So glad you made this excellent analysis but also called out pundits on their unfair citicism of Arsenal celebrating a huge, huge win.
Great analysis as per usual, best any team has played against us (Liverpool) this season. Also agree that Arsenal are entitled to celebrate the win, naturally grates on opposition fans but so it should and we were mostly just annoyed we got outplayed anyway.
This was brilliant to watch and its great to see explained!
the first goal happened because of one touch passing, instead of the plodding passing to feet that arteta's arsenal are usually guilty of, especially against low block teams. the speed of movement pressures the defense into making disjointed decisions, breaking down their structure and making recovery even more difficult (due to having to overcome chaotic momentum). yes formations are nice and all but not seizing on positional advantage in the very narrow windows that open just kills the offense, as has often been the case this season
But that first time passing only works if the opposing team presses (which doesn’t happen when you play low block teams)
i think it still can work high up the pitch in the 18 yard box, like the wilshere goal vs norwich...they should just do that every game :P@@eitanwoloski5822
But you miss the fact that teams that sit in a low block don't give any space for such moves to work. They literally sit.
It's through those multiple touches that they get to move those players, before the trigger pass when a channel opens up.
@@eitanwoloski5822tell that to city vs. brentford. a disgusting amount of movement and one touches that could make a grown man cry lol
Well done.
Dude..thanks for breaking down the moves so beautifully. And making me laugh so much. With joy. I am subscribing.
I love that Havertz becoming tactical player for us
Thank you for the analysis and for building this channel! It helped me understand the game so much better and you do it in a super enjoyable way! Thank you!
Loved the Detailed Explanation
Over-celebrating is kinda a form of respect for your opponent. A win against a smaller team would yield a smaller celebration.
I am very interested in tactical analysis regarding Arsenal FC. You happen to be one of my favourites when it comes to explaining with diagrams, ect, and that I commend you for your platform. You are one of the best.🙏🏽
Any Win in the top six is worth a real celebration. As a fan of The Arsenal I was expecting a loss or at best a draw. This was a Spectacular result that the boys should be proud of. Keep up the good work, your game analysis is always entertaining and inciteful
Its strange Havertz couldnt finish that chance. The UCL final goal he scored against city was very similar
Thank you for the breakdown. I was expecting something like this from Neville and Carragher but they were far too busy to complain about Arsenal's celebration and claim Arsenal didn't play well.
Top video, giving credit where it's due. Don't get me started on the Sky pundits... they're beyond rubbish.
Fantastic analysis!
Amazing analysis!!! Absolutely quality
Beautiful breakdown here mate
Excellent analysis, cheers
Great analysis mate, really enjoyed it! You just gained a new subscriber 🙏🏻
Between Konate, VVD and MacAllister - at least one of them should’ve seen the gap and the threat and what was about to happen.
The reason why Allison not playing is because he's still having nightmares about Trossard😂... That guy likes to use Liverpool as his own toilet seat😂
No Jesus,no tomiyasu,no partey no timber bro chillax we cooked you
The run is reminiscent of that run he made against City in the Champions League Final game 1:01

@@AZ240992his movement is deadly

Havertz was immense. Now fans should get off his back.
He’s better at 9 dropping back than the other way around that Mikel has been forcing.
I've been his lawyer since he got here, all he needs to do is find his shooting boots and I'll retire
He wasn't immense, it's bullsh&t, a top quality striker could have implemented this & if a top quality striker had been playing Arsenal would have scored 5 or 6...
@@thelimey351 I guess you know nothing about tracking & passing. But I won't educate you.
@@tdtm82 Oh yeah, because you are so great, you'll just listen to what anybody tells you. Havertz did what he was asked to by Arteta & he did that well, but ultimately he is not at the standard required - we've seen that ALL season...

Can’t believe nobody’s really talking about how we missed Conor Bradley. Klopp would’ve fielded him.
The moment I realize Conor Bradley was going to miss the game was when I knew Arsenal was going to win.

Great analysis thanks 🤩 I was at the game and thought our midfield was superb. Full credit for Havertz, if he can convert more chances we can definitely achieve glory 😊

Brilliant analysis thank you Adam!
This is brilliant analysis!! Thank you
I just subscribed, mate. Since you asked nicely 😂
for the Arsenal second goal Martinellis little nudge on Van Dyke chages his line slightly which makes Allison tap Van Dykes leg as he tries to clear, which then makes him miss the ball.
No it’s just Martinelli was too fast of a player to allow the ball to travel back to Allison, if it was Havertz then Allison would’ve made it
Would've been 3-0, if Gabriel cleared the ball
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤arsenal always together with fans to the top no bad mind can stop arsenal football team
Rant over
Loved your analysis. Thanks for calling out the pundits too lol
Yes I'm a year behind.
all the goals came from Arsenal doing something Liverpool didn't expect, and that's how you beat such a great team
But what about the celebrations?
Great video, thank you!

The next 2 were just bizarre and then the sending off left them exposed at the back for Arsenals third
Liverpool were poor which is very unlike them and you could tell they missed Szoboszlai and Salah but Arsenal were also on it
He doesn't offer much in front of goal currently but I love Havertz playing through the middle for us, he brings both wingers and Odegaard into play and lets them all move forward ahead of him
I don’t think Trent didn’t come central because the threat of Martinelli, Gomez was inverting from the left as he has been doing recently. I think Bradley was going to play but sadly had to miss the game, so Trent who’s not fully fit yet just played the way Bradley was going to because that how they had trained and planned all week with Gomez inverting and ideally Trent would of just come of the bench with Nunez on 60 minutes to try and win it.
Kai is mad underrated he's solid just not a goal scorer why u see him a lot in midfield work rate is class makes things tick
Love your analysis with fun flavour dude 😁
