I'm an owner of the 2018 cbr 650f. As far as the power, ergonomics and suspension on the R are pretty much the same as the F. Now the front and the dash look much better on the R, but the rear looks much worse. But either one you choose your going to get a great bike.

28 plus minutes into the video and man that was close!😬You just never know and you riding at sensible speeds kept you in control. 👍 good stuff. I appreciate all your videos. Very good. I'm thinking Honda for my next bike. 1000rr
Totally agree with you about the rear, the tail is too short and the number plate holder too long, giving it an odd appearance. Same problem with the naked version.
Wish it was 20lbs lighter and 10more hp, not a deal breaker though. Absolutely agree with the tail, does not belong to a sports bike, Honda needs to do a more aggressive seat cowl.
We may have a (pre-Mayflower) common ancestor. I also have a CRF250F and I just picked up a 2018 CBR650F ABS for a first-in-30-years bike. I wanted to see for sure what I was missing by getting the earlier version. I'd like to know what those little daggers are for hanging off the edge of the windscreen. Great review. Especially nice heads-up riding at 28:47 - that would be me (doing a rolling right turn) if I came to the UK. At 5'7" & 14.25 stone, the bike seems to fit me well enough. I really wanted the looks of the sporty CBR until I clarified the insurance quote; by then it was too late. I may succumb to my more practical side just to be better insured at some point (full coverage + uninsured motorist = $400us on the CB and $2k+(!) for the CBR - per year. If it's more upright it's a sport tourer, the power and torque suggest that to me too. As it's an inline four, it has around 20bhp more than some twins, giving it a bit more top end speed, it would be interesting to know (with a back to back test) if the torque is delivered as good as twins low down. I'd still bring that top end down a bit with a gearing change (sprockets obvs) for more overall fun with acceleration. I do like the look of it and I bet it sounds great with an exhaust upgrade too.
It's not quite a common complaint, but the manufacturers don't really make "man-sized" sport bikes anymore. It's petite sports bikes or more spacious sport tourers.
Yes, good and faithful ABS. The negligent driver probably didn't see you at 28:48 because your black bike blended in with the dark colour of the wet bitumen. And you're wearing black too.
I wonder if the handle bars could be raised a bit more? to aid comfort and push it more into a Sports Tourer? Do you notice a lot less wind blast on that bike compared to a naked in its class?
To OP: Since it's build in Thailand, does the bike have any quality issues regarding the construction,? Like gaps or bad materials anywhere? I am seriously considering this bike, thanks in advance for the input.
So. at 28:49 there.. is that actually a roundabout or what? If it is it's the smallest one I've ever seen. How does it work? Was Fish right of way to just go through? I don't see any stop or yield signs.
I know its the obvious thing to say but you have to test ride them both, they are completely different in ergonomics and performance, and you should really take into consideration what use it's going to be for, weekend blasts or everyday riding with blasts now and then, weekend toy the r7 in my opinion or if it's going to be a daily rider with long distance now and then and a weekend here and there for a blast the CBR is definitely a better fit.
Did the car driver even look right to see if anything was coming? Seemed to approach the roundabout a little too fast to have a good look if anything was coming... Another great review, not too sure on how the back end looks though, a little ugly...

I have a CBR500R and use it for the daily 80 mile commute of country roads and m25. This looks identical to my bike but has a bigger engine. I am looking for my next bike. Is this enough of an upgrade though?
Well it's roughly double the horse power and much more refined with the two extra cyls. I doubt you'll have any use of the extra actual top speed but you'll have better overtaking power on your motorway bits and probably better fuel economy (if you like that sort of thing).
@@RayBanJockey thanks for the response. Was all booked up to test ride last weekend at Dobles but was not feeling well. I get 70mpg on my cbr500r doing mostly 6th gear at 60mph. Definitely the CBR 650R for me. The KTM would give you a lot of fun and a degree of exclusivity, but you don't get Honda build quality or a lovely smooth four cylinder engine. The Honda is definitely a better all round bike for the real world.
Beautiful bike😍😍😍😍. I'm glad that it has the Fireblade styling which the previous model was a bit bland looking yet not attractive. However, this one really caught my attention, its just so beautiful😍😍😍. I always love inline 4 bikes but people always tell me its not suitable for riding in the city and advice me to go for bikes with 2 cylinder like those I mention. So, what's you opinion sir? Shall I go for inline 4 or 2 cylinder bikes?
@Bunnyshooter 223 I will get the Honda over the other parellel twins. This is the only 650cc inline 4 available while others are 2 cylinder. I love inline 4 bikes. They sound like sports car and I could listen to that sound daily as it really made my heart wanna race😎😎😎🏍️🏍️🏍️. I will save up to get this beauty. This new 650R really made me fall in love with her. I will get her when the day has come. Yes the Honda might be expensive but I feel worthwhile to get it due to being the only 650cc inline 4. The moron pulling out on you FYI
great review!
How did this bike compare with the Honda VFR 800?
Slick reviews
I have a CBR500R and use it for the daily 80 mile commute of country roads and m25. This looks identical to my bike but has a bigger engine. I am looking for my next bike. Is this enough of an upgrade though?
Delwar Ahmed It looks like a 1000cc fireblade honda
Go test ride one man the in-line 4 has more power then you would think
Well it's roughly double the horse power and much more refined with the two extra cyls. I doubt you'll have any use of the extra actual top speed but you'll have better overtaking power on your motorway bits and probably better fuel economy (if you like that sort of thing).
@@RayBanJockey thanks for the response. Was all booked up to test ride last weekend at Dobles but was not feeling well. I get 70mpg on my cbr500r doing mostly 6th gear at 60mph. I don't struggle overtaking cars but a bit of extra power never hurts. Will let you know if I end up trading my 500 for the 650
Great review
KTM Duke 790 vs CBR 650r which would you pick guys...??
Definitely the CBR 650R for me. The KTM would give you a lot of fun and a degree of exclusivity, but you don't get Honda build quality or a lovely smooth four cylinder engine. The Honda is definitely a better all round bike for the real world.
Both are different categories.
A naked and a fully faired.
Take the 790 and CB650 👌
and yeah Honda for sure ✌️
Probably look ok with a Givi rear rack and box on it to compensate for the rear wheel hanging out like a builders arse.
Beautiful bike😍😍😍😍. I'm glad that it has the Fireblade styling which the previous model was a bit bland looking yet not attractive. However, this one really caught my attention, its just so beautiful😍😍😍. If I wanna buy this bike, I would go for the naked version due the ease of riding the bike and naked bikes always been my favourite😊😊😊.
Not sure shall I go for the bikes like MT07, Ninja 650 or SV650 or choose this bike instead.
Well, have a good day dear sir😊😊😊
What are the differences between the F and R
This bike ok for daily commute?
Depends what the commute is to be honest , and if you want it only for the commute
Enquanto existirem somente a CBR e Ninja 650, não faz sentido algum a Honda trazer essa All NEW CBR. Uma pena.
