    After watching many videos with instalation of different aftermarket exhaust I concluded that the cost of these full exhaust systems are worth only if you run the motorcycle without db-killer + remap and you benefit from a sport, rasp, deep sound that makes you feel you ride a true sport motorcycle. With the db-killer in the sound is a little better than stock and I don't think I would spend almost a grand for just a little better. The weight reduction though is consistent, this is quite a good benefit.

    Make sure you do a PAIR valve delete along with a proper dyno tune now with the aftermarket exhaust on any bike.
    Also, I would always wear gloves when doing an exhaust install. Oils from your skin will etch into the pipes when they warm up. Leaves basically Permanent finger prints

    • @jjmax2007
      @jjmax2007  4 роки тому +2

      I can't find a pair valve block off for this bike.. I looked umm I was thinking PCV cause tuning shop where I live are costly and dont know many tuning shops other places. On gloves your right I did wipe the exhaust with rubbing solution to keep the oils away.... thanks for the heads up

    • @koofdome
      @koofdome 4 роки тому +1

      JJMAX2007 awesome! That was one mistake I made on my first bike I ever owned, had oil from my finger prints etched into the dam pipes. That was annoying to look at.
      I'm always looking for a set of valves, it seems the only available ones are from eBay at about $35. Im going to try contacting some manufacturers or machine shops to see if they can laser cut/water jet cut some plates for me!

    If you do this, do not remove the silencer as the bike loses a few hurse purrs from the lack of backpressure. Also, yes if you do this, you absolutely should install a Power Vision and get it dyno tuned, otherwise you're pretty much just gimping your bike to make it sound slightly better. However, a good tuner should be able to get you at least a 10% hrspr improvement (personally got 11.25%).

    The allen screw in my Akrapovic on my CBR650R literally took no effort at all to unscrew. It was tack welded but it was the smallest tack and I cracked it free with one turn. Then it unscrewed all the way perfectly. I used EnglishBikerDan's technique of pushing a threaded rod up inside the DB killer and banged away at the back of it until it came free. Such a shame you had to go through that whole ordeal to get it out.

    • @jjmax2007

    No ECU tune to compensate for the changes ? it's really worth getting, you are spending somewhere around 20% the cost of the exhaust system on a custom map and that custom map is what actually improves the throttle respons, improves power and ride. The exhaust is great looking, but really does nothing good for how the bike runs, besides sound ofc.

      It's only available in the US. European models don't have the option. You can tell because there are only 2 wires going to the indicators of the European version (I have a UK CBR650R). The US version has three wires which keeps them lit like daytime running lights. Contrary to this, the European CB650R has the indicators on all the time as it's the 'naked' version so provides more visibility.

    I removed the dbkiller but then replaced it back agai. after my next long ride. It was silly loud and though it was kinda dumb to make that much noise with a slow bike like this.

      Oh snap you know whats crazy I have been looking at 600rr at my local dealer to see if it would be a even swap but its not the rotors in the front are different and if that is the case then the calipers are different too.... so like things just keep changing lol but I looked into it already it better getting the whole bike than just the whole front end of the 600rr

      @@jjmax2007 strange for honda to do that tbh, the amount of recycled parts they used on the 2015/16 1000rr's and the 2017+ 1000rr gen. But there is rumor that they are going to drop a new cbr600rr which might be why they kept the 650 different, that way they could better establish a difference between them.
