- I've talked a lot about demons I'd love to see in the Megami Tensei franchise, but what do you do when demons you'd love to see are already there, but only found in MegaTen's answer to Pokemon? There are plenty of demons only found in Devil Children aka DemiKids who I'd love to see break out one day in Shin Megami Tensei or Persona, so let's talk about a few of them!

Technically Haru has Gilgamesh's axe in Persona 5, but that's not quite the same as him appearing as a proper demon.
Yeah its a item not a character its like having rick's portal gun and not rick himself or Thor's hammer without thor or whatever ya know
His may be cruel on my part, but you could have a child (younger than Ken) awaken a persona that is in the art style of Demikids, but as he faces the challenges and awakens his true-self the persona stays the same but the art style changes to reflect his maturity through the events of the story. (Like Chimera becoming King Chimera, the same but slightly different.)
With Persona, they could take the Doppleganger approach and design it to look like that game's protagonist, just with a mask.
Also, technically originating from the Devil Children anime, but where is Queen Frost? The King misses his wife!
I actually talked about Queen Frost in my Neglected Demons video from a few months ago. And then like 2 weeks after that video came out, they added her to Dx2.
Yeah, would def be neat seeing some of these specimens in more places.
There are a lot of good ones, and it really surprises me how often DemiKids draws from sources the bigger series haven't touched.
Yea, looking into it there's some edge cases of demons who've been elsewhere but haven't appeared SINCE Devil Children.
Amanojaku (Was also in SMT 1 and Giten), Baku (Was in the original Megami Tensei and the first Last Bible), and Belobog (only other showing was SMT if), and that's probably just the tip of the iceberg.
There seems to be a lot of demons who haven't shown up in a good while or in the right contexts. I started counting (and stopped partway through) with every demon that's showed up in Megaten to my knowledge, and I still got to 1000+ before I even reached that part of the history.
Sweet work. Some of the demons on this list feel like they should be no-brainers to have in other series. I'd love to see another video on this. These designs look great, and DemiKids deserves a bit more love.
Yeah! The most bizarre one to me is probably Gilgamesh. But admittedly the one I’d probably most want to see personally is Nessie

@@arkdragon222 TECHNICALLY my first was Eternal Punishment, but I don't really count that. DemiKids was the first I bought, played through, and beat.
When you mentioned Coppelia, her origin sounded familiar. I looked it up and it turns out she was based on The Mechanical Doll featured in The Sandman by E.T.A. Hoffman. This story is also featured in the opera The Tales of Hoffmann as one of 3 stories told in the 4 act opera.
Yeah, it's quite an influential story as it turns out. Crazy that the mechanical doll herself is stuck in DemiKids of all places.
@strain42 Kind of a shame. If I could make a SMT based game, I'd love to add her. I was thinking of adding a Robot Race to the group.
I drew Coppelia as a persona once. Lovers Arcana. Took two tries to get the image right.....I regret not making a copy of that drawing.
gilgamesh would've fit PERFECTLY in vengeance with its usage of mesopotamian mythology
He could've been the Fionn Mac Cumhail of that game.
Of the main Greek gods, Poseidon is the only god that hasn’t appear in a mainline or Persona game. He only appeared in DemiKids.
He was actually on my list for figures to consider talking about.
OH yeah he'd make for a cool Doi design maybe he cuold have elements of Seahorse's in his form considering he is also the patron god of horses.
Thank you for making these type of videos and the demonic compendium videos. Just learning about the demons that haven't really shown up in "modern titles" (which I would count Persona 5 and up) are always fascinating and makes me want them in a mainline modern game (Crusader & La Llorona for me.)
If I could recommend a video idea: Could you imagine crossover characters in a mainline SMT game (similar how they are doing with Dx2)
I would personally want anyone from God of War or Hades
Actually, 10 series I'd love to see crossover with Dx2 HAS been an idea I've been kicking around. I don't have 10 picked out yet, but Yakuza would definitely be there. I really like the idea of Majima having a Garm. The Mad Dog actually getting a mad dog, ya know?
Goetia demons are always like:
"He has 30 legions of demons, his superpowers are: Being able to tell which mushrooms are poisonus and which aren't, and he can make plants listen to music"
"He can tell the difference between butter and I can't believe it's not butter"
Not Demikids exclusive but i want to take the chance to shout out Kaguya's Demikids design because i think its just funny and very creative at the same tine. A princess sitting inside a bamboo shoot shaped UFO, its perfect, honestly if they turned that into a mainline design by giving it a few artstyle tweaks i don't think anyone would complain.
My favorite would have to be Melissa. Turning a computer virus into a demon inhabiting a GameBoy is a neat idea.

You should also look into demons that are stuck in RONDE since theres a lot id like to see return jn a future smt game

I'll always have a soft spot for DemiKids because it was the first MegaTen game I ever bought and beat.

They're a little simplistic compared to other titles, but I still enjoy them and think they're an interesting subsection of the MegaTen franchise.
5:10 Let me clarify to you lol: Bathin will teleport not your body to other country, but your consciousness, and can be for other lands too, so he has no limit for what I know (since he is under his master control)
So you'll travel to another place, but nobody will know, even your body, you'll receive only the experience of being in this desired place
Demi kids are the weirdest games in the series but i honestly really like their demon designs i havent played the games just yet but i have seen them in the megaten wiki
I'd love it if we could get some higher quality scans of the official art.

I mean look at last bible most entries in the megaten wiki just use their in game sprites
The strangest thing about the demon Shadow is that they appeared in Devil Summoner Soul Hackers, which is linked to the earlier Persona series via the Kuzonohas... also yeah Gilgamesh is pretty much a given for Megaten as are probably a number of other characters we could generally classify as mythological heroes or historical figures.
Love these types of videos. You should do this sort of format for other SMT/related games
I picked DemiKids because it's the one I'm the most familiar with, but yeah, I might be down for trying Last Bible or Majin Tensei or something.
I think Hel should be brought back. It's not originally from DemiKids but it had a unique design that made it associated with Jack Frost.
To be fair there's a demon I REALLY want to personally see brought into the main series but only appeared in like two games. Pooka/Puka has only really appeared in Megami Tensei up to Majin Tensei. I'd also love to see it get a redesign since Pooka are said to take the appearance of animals or humans with animal features.

Talking about good suggestions, I thought of a new design for Belobog, but he is trapped not only in DemiKids but in smt if too, stucked inside Karukozaka High
Green Man could be nice too for the force element, since they are plant monters and can have a bizarre design for shin megami or even as an initial persona
And it's funny for us to have Homunculus, Soma and Lost but not as demons like DemiKids but as items in the franchise
Can't believe the depiction of skyfish in Hunter X Hunter didn't get a mention.
I've never seen Hunter x Hunter and if I were to go over every Japanese property that used the Skyfish this video would be double the length :P
If u ever cover the Last Bible series, you need to discuss Nymph who was only in the first one.

Personally, I'd want to see Amatsu-Mikaboshi have some more representation. Only appearances I can think of are Raidou 2, P1, and Detective Naoto. A very obscure assumed Amatsukami as well given the "Amatsu" part. Some people say is evil but that's not really confirmed. Just imagine a proto-fiend of this guy with a unique "Dread Star" skill. Also why is his persona 1 arcana tower and not star? He's a star god and I don't have a strange star bias here.
Man, I'm pretty bummed out I couldn't get into this game. The demon art is so charming and the character designs have that late 90's factor that I love, even if they look pretty cheesy. Just, white text on blue background? Oh man is that hard for me to read, even on an actual monitor.
Realistically if Doi was going to put Skyfish into mainline SMT He'd probably take inspiration from the ones in Jojo Part 6 but hey that's just me.
You could make multiple videos continuing this discussion, there's just so many demikids demons!
Alternatively Atlus should make a new Devil Children game; as long as they don't try to sell two versions. lol

Me personally I would absolutely LOVE to see if any demons were exclsuive to any one of the obscure LAST BIBLE games and think you should do a video on that. ;-)

Persona and Shadow could make a comeback if Atlus lets them break the 4th wall, or if the next Persona protagonist is such a boring blank slate that his starting Persona is just Persona.

I did look into him for this video, but he's actually appeared in a lot of other things, though never in any sort of modernized Kaneko/Doi iteration.
I'm not sure which Demi Kids demons I would want. I wasn't able to make it very far into Demi Kids when I tried playing it. are your demons not supposed to grow levels in it or did I find a bad copy of the game? cause my starting Demons perpetually stuck at LV 2 were not getting me through many fights.
Yeah, demons don’t get experience in DemiKids. Exp you get in battle levels up the protagonist so you can use higher level demons. Each demon is WORTH a certain amount of exp and you fuse them onto your main partner to level them up.
If there’s a demon that you REALLY like there are training services and gums (incense) but that’s usually not worth it.

A surprisingly high amount of Abrahamic figures are/were exclusive to DemiKids.

I think that SMT is entering the same problem as pokemon, ya know going 3D one of my dissapointments in smt 5 is that we barely reach 200 demons so in order to see niche races such as UMA (like nessie) they need to mass produce demons and stuff, i don't know if HD2D is viable tho, and about gilgamesh i think famous warriors are a race too isn't it? like wargod but maybe atlus just want some ego stroke for more japanese captains JA.
