    Also keep the furry brown blanket for yourself or Butters, they come from Costco and are super comfy... also decorate the shed with the Jesus cross that's in there. ^^
    Now I'd like a video of that Lexus LS400, I really hope that car's okay, they should last at least 300k miles. Fancy Toyota Quality!

      Bryan Henderson we have one that’s got 120k on it timing chain was replaced by Chevy but they replaced it with the same stuff, so it jumped and bent the valves, and it’s not an oil change problem that engine is just shit in a caddy

    • @TheJ602

      3.6 burns a lot of oil. A lot of modern engines do but these engines eventually self destruct.

    • @buddyanddaisy123
      @buddyanddaisy123 6 років тому +1

      The 3.6 was originally a pushrod engine. It was modified to DOHC; this require 3 long chains, susceptible to wear. the pushrod engine would run 300K miles easy, the DOHC version 150K , if you are lucky.

    Y 'know I've watched a few of your videos of 10 + year old luxury cars with 150,000 + miles on them and I have to laugh (or cry). 19 years ago I bought a '99 Hyundai Accent (stick shift no power steering). Friends and coworkers laughed at me "HAHA , That thing's gonna blow up at 60,000 miles! HAHAHAHA!" Here it is 19 years and 174,000 miles later and a car that I paid under $10,000 (including tax, tag, title, shipping , Etc) is still chugging along just great! Yet these luxury cars that sold for $50,000, $60,000, $70,000, $80,000, and beyond when new are getting scrapped out.

    Its almost like a way to perpetuate Cash For Clunkers and ruin the used car market to force people to buy newer stuff. No fob no dice. Around that time the computers are serialized to the VIN and engine and may not work in another identical cars. HD motorcycles are kind of that way too. They are in NO hurry to help you keep your 3 year or older bike on the road.

    • @jsciarri
      @jsciarri 6 років тому +15

      That Cash For Clunkers program was one of the absolute dumbest ideas that had ever been hatched in this country. It had far too many negatives than positives, and that useless dipshit Obama was all for it. Even though it's been nearly decade now since that program happened, I'm still angered by it immensely.

    It is so odd that I have just stumbled on your video because I have just acquired a 2006 Cadillac STS the same engine however mine is a pearl white color I'm not really quite sure what kind of color that would be called but I saved it from the junkyard because they were going to take it to the junkyard without taking the Cadillac converters off so I bought the car from them before they took it to the junkyard I however it would turn over but not start up I got it to turn over and start up and run down the road it has one cylinder is not firing on so it's a 5-cylinder instead of 6 but it drives very well and it has a missing it obviously but it seems to run fine besides the missive has but other than that I think everything deserves a second chance or least a shot of one sorry this message is so long I just find it very funny and odd that I stumbled across your video when I just inquired one keep up the good work I worked in a lot of junk yards you find a lot of neat stuff and junk cars well at least I have thanks for the video

    The 3.6 with the timing chain issue was caused by a batch of 7.7mm chains that did not meet specifications , it effected some engines , but not all , I have a list that was released by GM with the engine numbers of the possible engines that were fitted to the Holden Commodore in Australia and New Zealand , I'm not sure on the American models , GM went back to the 9.2mm chains on later models .

    Scrap it, they WERE nice cars but they're old enough now that they're causing too may issues to be viable to repair. Northstar beware...you're in for a scare lol

    Jay,
    I wish you'd do some follow up commentary on whether a car like the Jaguar or camper sold or was parted out. I'd love to hear the follow up, however brief. Apparently, the cars that you show are for sale, but I don't know your location, contact information or asking price. Do you have any guess what it would cost to get a proper set of keys and a fob for this car?
    Regards, Tom

    If i buy a key blank on ebay that has the chip on it for like 10 on ebay. the local dealers around me charge 50 to program the computer for the key. the dealer cuts it for free. and they can cut one going by the vin.

      the fobs are also cheap on ebay. and a dealer most likely would charge 35 to 50 dollar to program it for a fob.

    Maybe from Florida? No front plates. A lot nicer condition than the last 3 luxo scrap cars posted, BMW, Infiniti and Audi

    This Cadillac appears to be in good condition. I wonder why the owner got rid of it Is there any problem with? Cadillacs are not reliable. That's not a push to start button found in newer cars
