I have a tendency to 2nd guess myself😅
I have a 94 NA I bought in 98. For years it wouldn’t run right until it came up to temp. A friend kept telling me it was a vacuum leak, I wouldn’t listen. I replaced everything. Every sensor, every valve. I finally made an adapter to fit the intake out of PVC pipe with an inlet for compressed air. I found the leak in about 2 minutes. One of the hard pipes in the intake was compressed on the underside. So, it didn’t matter how hard you tightened the clamps, there was still a gap air could get in. I banged out the dent until it was circular again and it ran like new. I’ve never been more happy and so mad at the same time. Of course, I told my friend. He just shook his head.
Gotta love the spaghetti intake system😂
After counting all the clamps, I fully understood why one ALWAYS says to boost leak test😅 a tad ridiculous

ive been looking at the 300z for the last 6 months. i found a 1990 300z twin turbo with 28k miles on it. currently listed at $25k. original everything including t-tops. do you think thats a good deal? youre really the first person that ive found that knows really any information about the 300z's
It doesn't sound awful, but there's a ton of factors. Usually the later years, 94-95 bring the higher price in lower mile examples as they have all updates/revisions done and have much lower production numbers.

dang, i learned something new, i had no idea that the j30, upper passenger timing cover was free from the standoffs for the ignitor, i need to source those now! W's
soooo, those are discontinued. sadly... if you find them. stock them! would be amazing z32 mod for everyone doing ptu delete and relocate!
I've found 2 so far that I've been waiting for a good build to use them on😎
please dont forget, that behind the oil filter tree, is check valves on a non turbo block, those have to be removed and replaced with the TT blank plugs. that way enough pressure can be created to feed the oil cooler and turbos, without bleeding past those non turbo check valves which takes oil and bypasses your oil filter. all kinds of no bueno when using those non turbo check valves behind the oil filter tree on a twin turbo build.

I have a manual out of my old 300 CX twin turbo when the engine blew I just got an engine in transmission for two grand. This was 12 years ago now I’ve got a 2+2 that threw a rod. So I got a new used engine and I’m just gonna run 3 to 4 pounds of boost on pump. Gas I will have to manual swap it but I think in the end it’ll be worth it to have a twin turbo manual 300 with 410 years in it.
The na rear end makes 1st gear about useless😂 easy to burn em off in 1st and 2nd.

Do I need the oil tree or can I use one of those sandwich plates that squishes in between the oil filter and the block and if I need one do you have one for sale?
You can use a sandwich plate and run a feed to the oil cooler. The mishimoto that I use has 3 ports on it.

Hey where did you get the black lower lip on the red 300? My car is missing that lower lip and I can’t find one anywhere that looks correct.

Stillen type 3 lip, they also have NA chin repair lips and other style lips for NA and TT
@18:36, no lie. those locking plates are worth more then their weight in gold. lmfao. they sell Copper self locking nuts you should invest in. somewhat similar in price to the locking plates, but its one less step, and one less purchase, as you buy the nuts, instead of new nuts and new locking plates.

Can someone clarify for me please. The only reason to swap the oil filter tree is for the oil cooler? Correct?
If i keep the na tree can i just use an aftermarket oil cooler adapter and have no problems?
You can use a sandwich plate and use one of the ports for an oil feed on an NA tree.
But yes its for the oil cooler.

@@Alex-cl6nf if you're keeping the NA tree, there is no reason to pull the check valves.
Yes you will still use the plug by the tree for oil feed for turbos.
If running the oil cooler, you'll need an adapter port on your sandwich plate to use as a feed for the oil cooler.

Yes.
The cheapest way is to have your ecu socketed for a chip, or to buy one that is already socketed.

Would it be easier to single turbo then NA
If you have the money yes, however it was designed with the TT setup in mind so its a bit more cost efficient. Single turbo will be easier to work on.

infinity j30's were never "sports cars, so they werent used and abused to the ragged edge while being neglected. they were drivin by soccer moms who regularly maintained there cars. so j30 motors are the bee's knee's for swaps

Valid point about the j30 engine being more well kept but can the 3.7 from the 370z be installed into the 300zx?
