    It could most certainly be done for MUCH LESS than 10K. I would gander 5K even a possibility. 5 Years ago when these cars in Twin turbo form were commonly priced around 7 - 10,000 dollars (USD). It was definitely one of the best bang for buck performance cars you could get at the time INCLUDING THE PRICE OF THE CAR! That's considering the car, as a whole! Stock 5spd transmission, Stock Rear axles and differential, Stock longblock - All well capable of over 600 WHP.
    Unlock the secrets to turbocharged power on a budget! Dive into our step-by-step guide on How to Make an Easy 500 WHP for Less Than 10K in a 300ZX. Side note: I've owned a mk4 supra since 2017 and I've learned that 500whp is also a very good "Sweet spot" for reliability. Everyone says "duuuude it made 750whp on e85! why'd you turn it down??" and the answers are the same. Just because 700hp is very doable on E85 with an unopened bottom and a built head does NOT mean it definitely should be done. It is a very "annoying" version of 700hp. Getting roasted by sub 500whp cars left and right in the real world because I only make that power after 6000rpm and have to shift immediately vs downsizing the turbine and making 500whp where it punches to it in less than 4500rpm and I can stay in it way longer at that level. The 700+ setup is probably miandering around the mid 3s or less until at least 5000rpm. This concept is lost on everyone except those who deal with it.

      @twrcrew8852 2 місяці тому

      Oh ya, forgot.. my point also being that you ride a thin line in the 700s on stock bottom end. You constantly run the risk of spinning bearings from how quickly your oil becomes diluted with ethanol all the time and pushing that much more pressure and heat. Ethanol is no miracle drug (though close). But having to change oil every 1500 miles and sooner is a drag as well. Rods are under a lot of stress post 600 ft lbs. (which at 750whp, they are). If you just run 500, you can enjoy it on pump gas and dial that in perfectly. Then enjoy slightly more sane oil change intervals and have all that extra headroom of almost 300ft lbs less torque being experienced - however brief - while making more of what you do make more often.

    500whp is my goal as well - Haltech Elite w/ E-content sensor, AUS1000 (newer, improved ones), dual intake, Z1 intercoolers, JWT HD clutch… under $5k. Working bugs out now before going to tune.
    Also worth noting that Haltech tech support is AMAZING! …for those leery on DIY standalone work. Just take your time, learn and plan… and follow your plan.

      @@Billy_Built I worked through my wiring plan beforehand, then after install, dude remoted-in and completely set up the whole map (multiple tabs for different purposes) and set me up for fuel self-tuning. In a way, I almost wish I wasn’t able to cruise around - I’d have more incentive to finish ironing everything out. I did disable it a few days ago to force me to work on it, lol.

    I have been looking to switch my setup to e85. But as America is more eyed to electric hybrid and eventually all electric by 2027-30. I wonder how long e85 will be around. Manufactures combined only offer 4 vehicles that run e85 in 2024’s lineup. I understand live in the now and enjoy what we can use today. But the next 5 yrs will be very interesting for us enthusiasts. Thanks for the Z content. A haltech is on my wish list either way.

    • @Billy_Built
      @Billy_Built  3 місяці тому

      There will always be the next alternative. All depends on where you live. E85 is pretty abundant where I'm at. If They ever stop selling E85, which I don't know why they would because it is way better for the environment. I'll probably switch to water meth injection, or some other fuel.

    • @turbotwotune3398
      @turbotwotune3398 3 місяці тому

      my thoughts on this is, the best exhaust for a turbocharged engine is no exhaust at all. Being we need to have an exhaust the the next best exhaust is as large as possible at the turbo outlet, bellmouth is as big as the turbo outlet, split pulse has a small opening behind the turbine wheel and when the wastegate is closed all exhaust gas is going through that small opening the higher the boost and larger the turbo the wastegate is staying closed for longer making the restriction worse.

    I don't completely agree with you, the NISTUNE is actually pretty good and much cheaper than a stand alone.
    I have killed of 3 sets of side feeds (subaru sti 550cc) so thats true but it was my fault. When I bought a brand new harness and made my own grounding kit... that problem went away.
    If you have a tt right off the bat then yes that fuel pump is fine, if you're like me then a walbro 450 wild be a great place to start.
    I could be wrong but i don't think the secondary MAF is needed either...if sticking with the owm modded computer.
