This is a very holistic approach. I like that it's not a crash diet and intense exercise plan. That would add to the stress and high cortisol levels. What worked in my twenties (i.e., cabbage soup diet/military diet) doesn't work in my 60's anymore. Psychologically, I just can't deal with drastic changes in my daily habits and routine at this point in my life. I love the mindfulness and simplicity of your weight loss plan.
I admire you for being so classy in the comments. I really enjoy your channel and this video was interesting. I let little inflammatory things sneak in sometimes so it was a reminder to be more mindful (vs mindless) for my health. Your dress was lovely, you looked great before and after anyway, and I hope everyone had a great experience at the wedding. ❤
I used to workout 3 hours/day for three years (except on weekends). I did HIIT, treadmil, kick boxing, cycele zumba and strength training (less). I got burned out and I do mostly strength training and walking 30 mins every other day. I was never on a diet, but, I count my macros and calories. I stopped that too, I got burned out.
Oils are very calorically dense, but I do like them on salads and for roasting vegetables. To minimize the amount of oil I use, I bought an oil mister off of Amazon (picture a glass bottle with a removeable spray pump top) and I spray all oils on my salads and vegs. One tsp of olive oil (for example) is about 40 calories and I can usually get by with less than that (I worked out how many pumps = 1 tsp so I can gauge how much I use). Works well for me.
You look amazing anyway but thank you for the tips you give us. I’m trying to loose 5kg, it seems to be an ongoing struggle but I’m going to incorporate your tips.
It certainly can. There’s just a double bonus with outdoor effect on cortisol. Compared city walkers with Central Park walkers … cortisol more significantly reduced outdoors
If you want to drop five pounds, all you need to do is lose water weight. Eat more fatty beef and drink more water, eliminate fruits, vegetables, coffee, and sweets. The easiest way to lose 5 lbs is to do a 72-hour water fast.
Right! That fits - drop sugar and carbs and eat protein and fat for fuel. And drink more water and electrolytes. 3-5 kg water weight in a week will go.
I saw on this video at 9 min 26 sec that you showed a picture of all your weight body mass, etc. and was wondering which smart scale are you using to see all these in that way?
@@Flipping50TV fasting is pretty good at preserving muscle. I’m about to turn 55, and fasting is easier than it’s ever been for me, good energy wise and not much in the way of hunger pangs. Well, that is, since I’ve retired anyway. When I was working full time there was too much stress in my life to make any progress on getting healthy.

Thank you soo much! #youstillgotitgirl
As someone who HATES HiiT and loves walking, I appreciate this. 😂
Awesome video! Great advice and very relatable!
And you looked gorgeous!
Glad you liked it!!
You looked fabulous in the dress! And very interesting to hear how those changes made a difference - are you going to keep doing these?
Not 💯.. I think healthy fats are good! But the awareness of how much is enough vs too much is so much better!
Congratulations! Great suggestions!
you looked amazing
Your dress is beautiful
Thank you! Searching for a dress could be an entire video!!
Love this video! I enjoy lifting weights. Gotta get back to my daily walks, too. And i need to cut out the booze. Btw, that dress...AMAZING!!!

Good solution for you!! I found the discovery of removing oxalates in salad greens was the secret benefit
Do tell us more...just spinach?@Flipping50TV
Can you share the links for the blue dress. Beautiful 😻
You’ll find it @jcpenney ! Crazy!!!

For the walking, does a treadmill or an elliptical machine work as well?
It certainly can. There’s just a double bonus with outdoor effect on cortisol. Compared city walkers with Central Park walkers … cortisol more significantly reduced outdoors
@@Flipping50TV Thanks! I’ll go outside then. I live in Buckeye AZ, so the weather is the same as you in Scottsdale. Loved this video!

We don’t just want to lose 5 lbs tho. We want to reduce inflammation and maintain muscle mass, strength and energy and… have it stick!
Yes! Carbs hold water for sure!

Which weight balance do you recommend?
Can you ask again? I’m not sure what you’re asking.

Do you add anything to the Matcha Tea? Thanks!!
I do. I add coconut milk powder and a dash of stevia. I also use c60
I would like a program , how to contact you ?
Via the website www.flippingfifty.com - all contact info from description and the channel!
Hi there...thank you for sharing and yes you look great but would you mind telling us what you ate during that week? Please?
Will do a follow up!
Many thanks, although you always look good. 😊
thank you soo much! #youstillgotitgirl
Thank you. I thought i was the only over 50er that doesn't drink. It really is unhealthy. 😊
There’s a whole movement actually. That’s always been me, but women are getting there!
What raises cortisol? A 15 minute mile.
No.. unless that’s a brisk pace for you.. elevated intensity beyond aerobic for more than 45-60 mins
You were concerned about 5# 😮 lol. It wasn't fat. So you lost muscle
Nope. It was inflammation. We don’t guess here! We measure! Bout in most cases ? This is sadly true
Carnivore
It wasn’t… but it was very close. I enjoyed fruit and veggies
You could have done it in a week. Daily HIIT plus cabbage soup diet. Don't underestimate the power of fasting.
Was looking for permanent not quick and gone or long term muscle loss

Anyone who’s ever tried the cabbage soup diet will tell you, you may lose a few lbs but the bloat will make your belly look 4 months pregs.
