You guys need to feature Uncle Ray a little more often. He's full of character. I love it!
That’s awesome! Ray’s still a madman! Love hearing the “back in the day” stories. Still rides a wheelie like a pro. Cool to see the Kaplan boys together laughing and carrying on.

Uncle Ray has the spunk and charisma of Frank Gallagher, without the drug problems. Haha he could talk me for hours about anything. Just a super entertaining old soul.

Yep Harley Davidson killed the Sportster with that stupid Sportster S that doesn't look anything like a Sportster practically sounds like a weed Wacker. The Harley Davidson motor company went in the wrong direction with their new motorcycle line up. I like the old school Harley Davidson motorcycles

The evo motors on the sportsters are known to be very reliable. Will last a long time.

Solid mount Sportsters are the best. They make the best platform to modify for performance on a Harley IMO because EVO parts are so cheap and plentiful, and they're 70lbs lighter than the rubber mount bikes. You can drop in Buell S1 Cams, put on a 2-1 exhaust and rejet the carb and make in the Mid 80's at the tire fairly easily.
It would have been a lot of fun to hang out with you two in the 70s & 80s rippin it up ...Forever Two Wheels brothers🇺🇸

I MISS my '91 XLH1200 that I loved for 12yrs!!!!! (Had to sell for $ to fly to England, to work for Manchester and later Auckland Harley Dealers.
Rode Hundreds of different H.D.s, but that Harley Sportster (with fwd controls and a touring seat) and I lived the Dream!!! We rode the length and breadth of New Zealand many times. : ) : ) Dark Plum/Cherry Red metallic.
PS uncle Ray, Sportie's have ONE Carb, not TWO Ay.

I always wanted to see your older brother Ray in one of your videos, with all of the cool stories you have talked about with him. Glad I finally saw him in a video. Ray is super cool, and can ride his ass off, like you said. I'd love to see Ray on a 2 stroke mx bike, particularly, a CR 500. JR is so damned blessed to have You for a Dad, and Ray for an Uncle, which is where Jr. gets his amazing riding skills from. I hope I get the privilege to meet Ray and talk to him when I fly up there, although, I'm not sure about how close he lives to your shop and museum. If you would please, I Would Greatly Appreciate It, if you could let me know other videos Ray might be in, on your YT Channel. I'd love to see him ride a 2stroke MX Bike and a Muscle Bike. i got my sporty in 97 its a 96 , still got her and ride all the time , im not rich and cant afford much and my bike has been so good to me i will never let her go , you can tell i love my sporty , i call it " her " lol , my wife calls her my girlfriend because i spend all my time with her and money lol ....im with ya unkle Ray , keep that girl close , she loves you just as much .....

I love those little sportsters, they will get your ass around cheaper than those bigass heavy baggers with the 131's on them. I have a couple of bikes in my personal collection that will go to My Son, Daughter, and grandson. That's how I have it setup right now anyways, and hopefully they will keep the cycle of passing them down going.

Great story and bike , my XL1200S (1998) clock brackets kept snapping so striped them made the mounting bracket from double the thickness metal (looks factory) never snapped again . And how long to keep a bike ? ive had my XV 750 since 1989 (1981 model ) . Still on the road never tried to blow it up , never had any problems .

I'm 51&disabled but still can ride want to before I can't anymore been riding over 30years last 2years no motorcycle riding is like thearpy to me last few years been hard lost my wife of 23 years 3 years ago alot of stuff I'm trying to get money to get another motorcycle 🙏 travel maybe live from my motorcycle if I can get one.well that's my dream. Great motorcycle I would love to have that bike or one like it any kind any make really

Wheelies on a Harley are not advised. They have a dry sump and when you get into a wheelie you might be starving your engine of needed oil.
A lot of the guys who wheelie these fill the oil tank to the brim so they don’t starve
