You can't compare the 3 Pro to the air 3. Sensor size and 3 cameras are awesome. Try flying the air 3 at night and then compare the footage to the mavic 3. For me the air 3 is a heavy mini 3 with one more camera. I waited to see the air 3 come out and then bought the 3 Pro. Air 2s for me is still better than air 3. You really don't need ocusync 4. Everything you film you're usually close to anyway. 15kmh is far enough for anyone. The battery charging thing is a great idea though. I'd rather carry the mini 3 Pro and mavic 3 Pro. Sensor size 100% matters. It's a mini 3 Pro cam on a heavier drone.... You can't beat the mavic 3 Pro unless you spend an insane amount more on the inspire 3
I fly a lot in the night with my Air 2S, take photos and videos... do you recommend the Air 3 over the M3P considering that aspect? Please, let me know what you think. Thanks for the info.
Hello! @OriginaldoBo ua-cam.com/video/UqzTbltGnpc/v-deo.html this video should help with your decision. The Mavic 3 Pro does ok as long as you have some light sources. But the DJI air 3 has a night mode so I would love to see how compares in person.
Idk, the Mavic 3 Pro has the bigger sensor and more dynamic range and better exposure controls. As someone who loves beautiful images that is the main selling point to me. I have a mini 3 pro and wish I could have better image quality, more in line with my full frame camera set up.
Thanks for sharing! I would say No to Air 3. Mavic 3 / Mavic 3 Pro has larger sensor, variable aperture and RC Pro which Air 3 doesn't support. I perfer Mavic 3/Mavic 3 Pro.
As an Air 2S owner and a professional Cinematographer for Real Estate and the Automobile Industry,, I disagree with a lot that is said here. I would say If you are a professional, then don't consider the Air 3. Why? Because if you are running and gunning while shooting the last thing you want to do is change a lens filter during hectic times of shooting. Honestly I would say changing a filter Period during a shoot is a very annoying aspect to a drone. The apeture settings you get with the Mavic are worth every penny. Another major point is quality of image. The larger sensor is 100% worth the money as when you put the video and photos side by side there is a huge difference. So if you are a professional looking to stay above the bar and above or in line with your competitors then your only choice is the Mavic or Inspire. If you are a hobbiest looking to have fun while taking really good looking images, then the Air 3 is your choice.
Nice comparison, Matt. I'm a drone aficionado dating back to 2013 when DJI first introduced the Phantom 1....... which I still have and fly. Since that time I've accumulated quite a squadron of DJI and a couple of Autel drones. It's my "vice and addiction". Still photographer from my college days, and I need to transition to more film and video production and editing so I'm looking forward to viewing what UA-cam video production tutorials you have or will post on this subject matter. I just subscribed to your channel. As far as FPV, yes it is a blast! Just like flying helicopters which I've flown 5 different aircraft in my 30 years of Active and Reserve duty. One aspect of flying a non GPS FPV drone in a hover, you are CONSTANTLY moving ever so slightly, your controller right stick. Same thing in a helo in a hover using the cyclic, which is never held in a stationary position: constant slight movement of the cyclic and holding the helo in that "sweet spot": putting in a cyclic correction and taking it back out, with cyclic, fore aft and lateral movements. In the FPV drone world, your right controller stick is moving in slight control input in all directions holding the drone in that "sweet spot". Depending on what level of a FPV pilot you are, my suggestion in terms of building your skill level is to practice a lot of hovering and slow flight in all directions, fore, aft and laterally. I can still return my Mavic 3 Pro but I'm having wayyy too much fun with the 7x. I kinda like the look it gives recording 60 fps. Don't really want to give that up but the Air 3 could be a cool backup drone
@Matthew_Sherwood I have a mavic 3 pro coming in two days. Was this a good buy or should I have just got the air 3? I plan to use it for commercial use at some point but for now it's just for recreational use as I get started.

Its a stacked sensor!..and if you know how "stacked sensors" work on a camera..then you know its a better option if you had to choose..even if its a "smaller size"..most of the reviews are not even talking about it..I saw only like 3 "reviews" mentioning it..here is one ua-cam.com/video/EXhfDDAv-N4/v-deo.html 51 Drones they about it at the 3:10 mark
Hopefully the next mini pro 4 will be available to use the new rc2 controller. Then a perfect setup with sub 250 for those occasions and the air 3 for heavier workload. I have P4Pro NP2 mini 2. Next will be air 3 and mini 4 when that comes out.
Nah, Mavic 3 pro far better camera spec, Air 3 basically mini 3 or 4 main sensor plus other. Have a Mavic 3 (original) and upgrading to the Mavic 3 Pro soon as I want the better quality and not considering this at all. Can see how many would be tempted though, who don't mind a compromose and a step up from the mini 3/4 pro. I like the DJI charging hub can discharge used batteries.
New sub. As for me I'll be sticking with my air 2s. And nano plus. Thank you for being honest about staying with what work for us and not just trying to sell the greatest and newest product.
I literally bought a Mavic 3 pro like 3 weeks ago and haven't been impressed with it for the price, still think my Mavic 2 pro is better all around besides not having 4k60. I am going to get the Air 3 though to have a backup.
I started with a Mavic Mini 25 months ago, upgraded to an Air 2S 13 months ago, and the Air 3 will arrive on Friday. The 70mm camera and waypoints sealed the deal. All the other tech is great as well. Like all the shooting modes being available for both cameras, 360 obstacle avoidance, night mode, etc. I hope DJI returns to supporting consumer drones with SDKs as I love using Litchi with my Air 2S. I'd like to have a Litchi like option for the Air 3. If no SDK, possibly some talented programmers can cook something up. Planning those Litchi missions in 2D then previewing/flying them in Google Earth Pro is great. To get the smooth waypoint execution the Air 3 offers with Litchi like mission creation would be awesome.
Man I just got the Avata to complement my Mini 3 Pro. Gonna grab this bad boi too, now I can rock my mini 3 pro daily without worrying about having a back up. The Air 3 is outstanding! Great review brother 🦅
If you have to screw around with ND filters, there's a good chance you're not gonna get another client, it's not worth it if you're talking about professional work...
Drone imagery is about the image and the Air 3 is a downgrade from a 1 inch sensor. Sure it has some Mavic features, none of which affect the quality of the image. And the camera's they are 1.25 stops apart and are fixed apertures. So every time you want to switch lens you will have to fly back adjust your Vari ND filter and fly back out again to get your shot. Super annoying.

i bought one dji air 3 CE model.if FCC model the range you can more.with an ocusync 4.0 and APAS 5.0 is the best drone after mavic 3 pro mavic 3 and mavic 3 classic
Hows the still image quality ? Seems no one is interested.. 🤔
True! Sorry don’t have one to test for you.
Lets hope the air 3s releases in July 🙏 and hope it has adjustable aperture
Do you recomend to change the Mavic 2 Pro for the new Air 3?
Yea that would be a good upgrade
@@Matthew_Sherwood I just bought it 😀
You can't compare the 3 Pro to the air 3.
The DJI Air 3 has great tech. And the Mavic mini 3 pro is a good all rounder.
Totally agree! ❤
@@Matthew_Sherwood thanks!
@@Matthew_Sherwoodthe Mavic 3 has night mode too. Idk about the pro.
If it for professional use, should i get the mavic 3 pro cine? Or the D log is good enough?
Save your money and and get the non-cine. D -log is good enough.
For professional use pro cine is the right move. 10bit Prores 4:2:2 HQ and LT, integrated SSD, better controller, full D-Log support.
I can buy avata and this for the pro price
True that would be a awesome combo!
Idk, the Mavic 3 Pro has the bigger sensor and more dynamic range and better exposure controls. As someone who loves beautiful images that is the main selling point to me. I have a mini 3 pro and wish I could have better image quality, more in line with my full frame camera set up.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing! I would say No to Air 3. Mavic 3 / Mavic 3 Pro has larger sensor, variable aperture and RC Pro which Air 3 doesn't support. I perfer Mavic 3/Mavic 3 Pro.
Thanks for the info! ❤
There’s no Cine version.
That’s true. Most people don’t need that though.
Mavic 3 Pro has one big downside - It's not C1 certified in EU. You just can't use it in any urban areas legally.
That’s good to know. Will they ever update it so it is C1 certified, you think?
@@Matthew_Sherwood The problem is that the Mavic 3 Pro is over 900g.
Air 3 is C1 so one coming right up this way.
Mavic 3 Cine is C1 now so the M3 Pro will probably follow soon
@@TomBoudewijns It can't - M3 Pro is too heavy for the C1 certificate - more then 900g that is.
I am flying a Air 2. I should have the air 2 on friday.
Fat bellied men perving at their neighbours should definitely consider A3. Pros don't even consider it.

It’s nice to meet you Dave! Thanks for subscribing. Also thanks for all this info! It will be nice to see you in future videos!
I bought Air 3 as my first DJi drone.
I can still return my Mavic 3 Pro but I'm having wayyy too much fun with the 7x. I kinda like the look it gives recording 60 fps. Don't really want to give that up but the Air 3 could be a cool backup drone
Even at 28x zoom the image is good and you can look at things from far away. For exploring Mavic 3 is great.
Love my mavic 3 pro too!
@Matthew_Sherwood I have a mavic 3 pro coming in two days. Was this a good buy or should I have just got the air 3? I plan to use it for commercial use at some point but for now it's just for recreational use as I get started.
@@arkhamkillzone Mavic 3 Pro is wayyy better than the air 3
The 7x zoom on the M3 is really crap. Bad optics, very small sensor size.
Just bought the dji air 3 fly more combo for sale on Amazon for $1,239
Wait for what ever coming i think no one can afford to keep up with all the changes dji forgets this
if you can do it with what you have, just use it! heck I only have mini3, and happy of it. it complements with my fpv flying. 😊
Totally agree! ❤FPV
Hey I’m watching your video and I heard you say you want the inspire 2 and I’ll definitely sale it to you. I don’t need my inspire 2 anymore because I purchased another drone. My inspire 2 has everything and I would be happy if you or someone buy it from me.
I don’t have enough clients for it. Thanks though!
Great drone. My Air 2S is still great for me a year after I got it. Hopefully I’ll upgrade next year.
I loved my air 2S. ❤
@@Matthew_Sherwood A woman came up behind me and tried to grab mine while it was hovering and regretted doing it
I agree. Dumping my M3P since buying the Air 3!
can the occusync on mavic 3 pro be updated to 4.0 just by software update or it is a hardware thing?
I believe its hardware. I don't think it can be updated. ;{ we will see .
Thank for commenting with this important information. 👍
Just got my air 3 last night
Congratulations 🎉 :)
Hopefully the next mini pro 4 will be available to use the new rc2 controller. Then a perfect setup with sub 250 for those occasions and the air 3 for heavier workload.
I have P4Pro NP2 mini 2.
Next will be air 3 and mini 4 when that comes out.
Fingers crossed!
THX for the info !
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Just ordered the Air 3
I would still choose the Mavic 3.
Not me the M3C is perfect and it doesn’t have a fixed aperture
I'm going to order one...well I just did.
I literally bought a Mavic 3 pro like 3 weeks ago and haven't been impressed with it for the price, still think my Mavic 2 pro is better all around besides not having 4k60. I am going to get the Air 3 though to have a backup.
LOT to love about the M3P, esp compared to M2P. cant imagine what criteria it falls short on, perfect ship for the working pro
MAN MAVIC 3 CLASSIC. BEST CHOICE
no apperture control? thats sucks
You can use nd filters. But it is unfortunate.
@@Matthew_Sherwood yes i know. But i dont like my mini 3 pro which is no apperture control too. I still love some control over apperture.
That is so exciting! Congratulations on the Air 3 !
lol "25 months". "Hey how old are you?", "458 months".
Great video! Just subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
Hm…I have a Mavic Air2 and now I am struggling between the Mavic 3 Classic and the Air3🫣
I would go with the air 3.
@@Matthew_Sherwood 👍🏽
We need to buy new drones. Women buy handbags, men buy drones 😂
Man I just got the Avata to complement my Mini 3 Pro. Gonna grab this bad boi too, now I can rock my mini 3 pro daily without worrying about having a back up. The Air 3 is outstanding! Great review brother 🦅
Nice!! Thanks ❤ I have some Avata videos coming soon 🎉
Pffft no way. Fixed aperture, and fact IT'S ONLY 12mp ! Stepping backwards.
The air 3 may wish for that. 😂
If you have to screw around with ND filters, there's a good chance you're not gonna get another client, it's not worth it if you're talking about professional work...

I am waiting for eBay to come out with certified refurbished. That will save me extra $200 😊
Smart :)
Dji Mavic 3 is a Boss!
Mavic 3 Pro Cine is boss of bosses!
And you forgot one word and that's image quality...
I have a DJI air 2.
I think I'll buy the RC PRO for my Mavic 3 instead, 4x more TX power.
DJI RC is weak sauce.
I can see that. Thanks for the comment.
It's not. The sensor is "just" 0,8" instead of 1" inch, but the lens is so much better and brighter and so is the sensor quality.
I have the air2s, is it worth selling it and buying the air 3, is it better?
Yea I would say it’s a great upgrade if you need the 70mm.
thers a reason why mavic3 is more expensive .
