@ I did a pano about 30 min before sunrise of our city and much better results with Mavic 3 pro. For most day videos and photos are very little difference
I own the Mavic3Pro, the Air2S and the Mini4Pro. I totally agree with you that, whist the 166mm lens in the Mavic3Pro is interesting, I would be happy to loose it for a better Main or 70mm camera, and probably the later as the main camera is already excellent for the size.
I'm a beginner. My choices were between the Mini 4 Pro and the Air-3S. Although I liked the portability of the smaller Mini 4 Pro, I bought the Air-3S for flight time, wind resistance and the telephoto lens. Moreover, I then purchased a NEO fm pkg. I feel those two drones are a nice combination and the RC's are interchangeable.
This will be my 1st drone as I tend to research the ever loving shit out of all of my purchases, and your video's have been extremely helpful in that process... I am 99% sure I will be buying an Air 3S in the very near future. Thanks for the side by side comparison...!!!
Man, thank you for this video. Ever since the launch of the Air 3S, I've been so confused about which drone to buy. I had decided to go with the Mavic 3 Pro, but I've been really torn ever since, especially with the features offered by the Air 3S. However, the camera quality on the Mavic 3 Pro seems like a truly strong advantage. I think I should wait a bit for the release of the Mavic 4😅😅
I still haven't seen a Mavic 3 standard/OG/Original vs Air3S....it's like no one has the 1st version of the Mavic 3 anymore....except me 😢. I would've rather compared those so it's a 2 camera drone vs a 2 camera drone. I've seen a bunch of these 3 camera drone (M3Pro) vs 2 camera drone Air 3s...that to me is an apples to oranges comparison.....still though Peter is awesome at making videos regardless and I always enjoy watching them 😎
The original Mavic 3 (at least the one i had) had such a bad tele lens that it was almost unusable unfortunately. Don't think DJI sells it anymore either :o!
Because DJI provides video topics to its bloggers. That is why all youtubers have the same videos. DJI wants us to stop buying Mavic 3 pro and go for Air 3S, because Mavic 4 will be better and it will be a reason to spend more money again going from Air 3S to Mavic 4 Pro... nothing personal... Love your videos Peter :)
@@IvanSomewhere Haha it's interesting how you're so sure about your thing without even knowing. DJI gives me zero topics to talk about unless i make a sponsored video. They don't "want" anyone to stop buying anything, it's just the way that these companies work. Every single producer of tech wants people to purchase the newest gear.
@@PeterLindgren1 I hope that is true... but you can't really be unbiased because you work with them. I'm not saying this is not good or you're not truthful in your reviews. Its just strange that all big youtubers release videos at the same time regarding the same topic with almost the same wording. Air 3S definitely got better tech in terms of software and tracking (lidar etc) but it won't match Mavic 3 Pro picture quality (hasselblad + dlog) and true 20mpx photos.
@@IvanSomewhere I wonder why are you saying true 20mpx photos? Since all the DJI Drones have true Mp. Air 3 have true 48Mp and Air 3s have true 48/50Mp. But Mp is not everything.. But true is true.. But I see many people write like you and it seems they belive 48/50 is not true.
Have the 3s, it is not better at obstacle avoidance when I compared it with my 2s on the same trails. It also bobs more in the wind due to the longer body I believe.
I have Air 3 and Mavic 3 Pro. And I also have ordered Air 3s.. Mavic 3 Pro is the best in picture and video quality. When I got the 4G module on Air 3 I used that most because all the benefits it gives. But now I have it on Mavic 3 Pro also and If I can use it I use it. But here in Norway that I live, the Mavic 3 Pro are more restricted. That's why I ordered Air 3s because that's a bit closer to Mavic 3 Pro than Air 3 is.. Probably its not big difference in Air 3s vs Air 3.
I havent tried the Air 3s but I am loving my M3Pro and have done several customer projects over the past 1½ years using it. I am now at a point where I am looking to enhance it even further and either I will have to see if a M4 Pro is coming or go the Inspire 3 route albeit the portability and budget is completely different ;) Dreamscenario would be to try and use the PhaseOne on a drone with that 100mp camera for some epic landscape or urban shoots ;)
Hey Peter! I still have the Mavic 2 pro which I think is still really good (only the batteries are really bad) till today. I am thinking to switch, would you recommend buying the Air 3S? Or should I wait till next year? Thank you 🙏🏽
As an owner of the Mavic 3 already and the Mini 4 Pro I can't see the need for the Air3s. Only weighing 200 grams less and almost having the same physical size makes it unappealing as a travel replacement compared to the Mini 4 Pro when going overseas and packing light. For the same size and almost the same weight I could just take the Mavic 3 pro with a better main camera, variable aperture AND the 166mm. The 166mm is brilliant for creative shots, not amazing quality but I'd hate to lose it personally. So unique. If they were to drop it by another 100 grams and give it a size reduction then I'd buy one to replace the Mini 4 Pro as I feel the Mini 4 Pro lacks in key areas like wind resistance (hyperlapses always wobbly). Too close in weight and size for me to the Mavic now and with a lot of weaker features.
@@PeterLindgren1 True, I'd love a more compelling travel drone that's all, sitting a bit above the Mini 4 Pro but far enough away from the Mavic that it has a bigger point of difference. Mini 4 Pro is incredible for what it is but I do find it lacking at times as well.
Thnx for the content Peter, when I am grading the mavic footage I still encounter that the quality of the telelens is really limited in. Specially when the weather is not great, you can see it similar like the mini 4, but off course with a different focal length. My question is actually what your thought is on a second hand inspire 2, because on eBay you can pick a complete set up for around the same price as the mavic.
Yeah the Tele lens is still on D Log M if I remember correctly. I’d say don’t get the inspire 2. It’s a hard drone to fly, lacks a bunch of the newer tech, and The main camera is just so good on the Mavic!
I had phantom 3 se, spark, mavic air, mavic air 2, air 2S, mini, mini se, mini 2, mini 3pro, neo. Now I still have air 2, mini 3 pro and neo. air 2 is the best so far, mini 3 pro is still by me, but is leaving and the neo, that is the best carry around "quick on" drone. I am thinking of buiyng a new drone, but for my hobby filming is the air 2 totally ok (reliable, strong wind ressistance, very good picture quality). Air 3s has the better camera, but is it worth the money for my purpose? hm... not sure
idk dude that 166mm on the mavic 3 pro, is freaking amazing, and creates shots that cant be replicated. Really, theyre all different tools......and i need each one haha
Im looking for your expert advice. Im a general Contractor who rehabs houses and is starting home inspections. I want to buy my 1st drone to use for family hobby fun but also construction work/ inspecting. What would you choose if you could only have 1 drone. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
IF you need the PRO filmmaking features of the M3 Pro, then go for it. But if you don't, the Air3S is a really good choice if you buy the Fly More kit.
Hello, I need your advice please, I watched your video review in Air 3 / 3S, I have mini 4 pro and willing to sell it , the only question I have is simple for those who can see the difference between Air 3 and Air 3 S in practice , is the difference really worth almost 2x in price ? Now BC of Sale DJI Air 3 Fly more combo is $ 860 (Air 3S = 1600$), If you can answer me, I would be very grateful for your advice. I watched many reviews but the point of my question is the price difference, Iam nowhere near to be photo/ videographer , Its Just my hobby . Should I wait for Air 3S sale which nobody know when will be ? , What would you do ? Thanks
Your Mini 4 is more capable than the Air 3 for most of the tech. The big difference and most important difference is the sensor size between Air 3 and Air 3s that sensor difference is what matters to Drone shot Professionals.
I have both and too have been flying since about 2015. The air 3s will be great for anyone but side by side footage the Mavic 3 pro is better
But the difference in picture quality is about 0,5%?:)

Id say probably not. It’s a very expensive drone to just have as ”a fun drone”
do we have waypoints in the air 3s ?? is it safe to assume we might get night mode too in future firmwares ??
Yes it have waypoints!
The 166mm lens would be great to use to keep your drone way less intrusive no ?
The lack of proper D log and low light performance doesn’t make it as useful!
