The sphagnum (brown) can be purchased anywhere pet products are sold. The green moss was actually found locally. Typically, I don't recommend using wild plant life in captive bred animal cages, but I went through a process of soaking it in water for several days to try and kill any parasites or bugs. It hasn't effected the snake 1 bit, but I actually don't have it in there anymore since I moved and totally cleaned out the enclosure. Using wild plant life is at your own risk, and not recommended.
