    The good side of a lockdown is having more time to discover new things, such as dioramas and terrain builders. I've watched all your videos so far and i'm both amazed and inspired by each and every one of your builds.
    As a question (and possible challenge?...) I'd like to ask you if it's possible to make a "floating" island, Avatar style. Maybe use the waterfalls as support for the structure, i don't know, just wanted to put the idea out there.
    Looking forward to the next build!

    Awesome idea to tip the resin while it's still drying. It successfully simulated the flow of water better and quicker than you could do by hand and it looked great!

    I have a (suppressed) creative side just waiting for my lazy, procrastinating side to take a break and burst out from my seams. I have been searching UA-cam for the past few days for the right inspiration to trigger my creativity and making things with paper mache clay was almost doing it for me, but just wasn't quite doing it. Then I seen the giant miniature of a nature landscape. While I could never commit to a project that large, you've still inspired me to try to make nature- based miniature landscapes. I love your detail and this video has given me some great ideas. Yer awesome!

    After almost 8 years lurking in this hobby, I just recently got my first minis. I basically covered my fingers covered in plastic glue, my paint job looks awful, and I have no one to play against. But none of the matters to me. What Chris said. Good on ya man for learning at your own pace and enjoying the process. One of my favorite quotes: "The only person we should try to be better than is the one we were the day before." In general, this is the best way to approach life. OK sure competitive sports is another thing, but for our day to day the above rule is the way to live and get the most satisfaction out of the things we apply ourselves to. Be proud of how far you've come from when you fist started. :)

    a shop that I used to play at back in the 90's had something similar to this. There's was a little more flat though, but slightly bigger too. I think there's was 3 foot by 12 foot. They used to split it into 3 sections for tournaments and events. It is a lot of fun to play games on a table like that. It adds so much more to the games.

    Neil, This beautiful project of yours reminds me of when I commented way back that I had issues with dust collecting on display pieces. I might have found a solution for that (or in my case at least, you'd probably have to modify it because of the sheer size);
    "Display coffee table".
    Apparently there are some for wine or DIY tables. But It shouldn't be too hard to steal part of that design and modify a nice/cheap Ikea coffee table which has a glass top. I just wanted to share my epifani which people of course already thought of, take away from it what you will. ^^
    Disclaimer: Of course there are alternatives, such as display cases or shelves but I've never been a huge fan of them. it can so easily look cluttered or out of place.

    You nailed it neil. Definitely going to be doing a smaller version with these techniques for a LoTR board. You'll see it in the discord 👀

    You may have found a way to add rapids by now, but just in case you haven't, you can add a white dye to a separate coat of resin/epoxy, and then use a blow dryer while it is still wet, in order to create a wave-like/foam effect. I suggest watching some videos on epoxy river tables for some ideas on that. There are many that create an ocean effect. Also, they may have a better resin/epoxy for you to use.

    Found you coincedently (probably because I follow the female LARPer and TabletopRoleplayer Mhaire Stritter )and I love your stuff.
    Would you mind recreating some parts of the German Middlerhinevalley, I think modelling after a real landscape will be very challenging for you.
    Btw: the Middlerhinevalley is the part of Germany where many U.S soldiers took their vacation when stationed in Germany during the 50s, 60s and 70s. Located Deadcenter is the city Koblenz where the Rhineriver and Moselriver flow into each other.
    Have a nice week
    Cheers
    Nik
