I get that you're not sponsored by Koala but mate there's really nobody like you explaining things this clear and easy. Nobody promotes Koala as good as you can. I'm not really invested in making music that much but I watch your videos since I came across Koala, whatever the video might be about, in case I might pick up something that'll be useful later, which often does. Appreciated.
For me, Koala mixer's utility function is a game changer for mixing. Mono modes help me tremendously in EQing frequency masking. I can better hear where a sample wants to sit, left, middle, or right then pan accordingly in stereo. I've been able to come up with much more clarity that way and it helps figure out other filters and fx to apply.
I use my MPC to make beats from scratch , I don’t use samples because I sell my beats and I get more money by eliminating sample clearing fees . I layer my original melodies and make them sound like samples like a band from the 70s
Thanks man, just a quick thought and tip for this episode. Just something that occurred to me when I was finishing up some music. I’m pretty sure the MPC should have these features considering they do everything else. 🙂
Marek is not playing around!. Koala sampler is SERIOUSLY competing with the benchmark hardware samplers!. In many ways it outclassed them outright!. This app had stem separation before the akai MPC!.
Bro there are many people who mix and master completely in the MPC standalone and have got placements from it. I’m sure this how Bolo makes majority of his beats. I don’t mind the Koala love though
It’s definitely possible, but there are a lot of factors involved here. You can sell a beat just by sending it out without mastering but I bet anything that gets to some sort of official release will be mixed and mastered to a “desired level” at some point in that process and I don’t know how you do that on the MPC alone. It’s no disrespect to the MPC, I love all 3 of mine. It’s just something I noticed that is possible with Koala because you can see that information but to play devils advocate, can you polish a mix as well on Koala as say Ableton, no there are better tools available with plugins etc. I see your point though. I think a lot of beats get placed just as ideas but even the Alchemist still lets an engineer mix and master before release. As a tool for just putting a beat together the MPC is hard to match 👍🙂
That’s a fair point and with Logic now available too it’s definitely a way to do it. I still think that being able to do everything with one app/device is pretty unique in the world of sampling though and it’s nice just having that choice. 👍
It doesn't really matter, as long as you have a newish tablet its fine. It doesn't take up a lot of memory. I'm using a galaxy note 9 which is really old.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words! 👍
Great point...not everyone has the cash to be creative with hardware. This is why Koala shines.

You’ve quickly become my favorite producer UA-cam and now I mainly use koala

The koala and sp is the perfect set up...I'm really satisfied... Thanks. 🎉
Yeah great combo! 👍👍
Good video bro. Pls do one where you show your mixing/master in koala and how you get that lufs level to -14. That would be so helpful thx

Great video. I agree, very well articulated. 👌🏼
I know you are not hatin. Just aiding in fun. Respect for the vibes.
I have this and didn't realize that was in there. Awesome
for a few bucks it costs its defo worth grabbing for your android phone/tablet.
I wish plugins coukd be added but its looking like it never will so i finally learned aum for my mixing needs
Peace Cook!
Akai need to put that Koala style meter in the game.
@@dja.selekta absolutely, I can’t see any reason not to add those and then sending beats straight out of the MPC would be a breeze! 👍

koala is incredible. ive been shilling it to my beatmaker friends for years
Whats your opinion on Beat Maker 3 for the iPad, would love a series like the koala one with BM3!
@@facucaneiro7067 I did try it but I couldn’t get on with it. It’s a great app but sometimes you just don’t gel with something.
Koala is Life . . .❤
can you make a video on how to properly use those effects in Koala?

Happened to me. I got a placement with a beat that I made in the MPC studio software.
@@REAL6 nice!! 👍
Great tutorial, thanks
Do you hsve an opinion on your favorite controller for Koala? Im looking for something with pads, knobs, faders that work well for live performance.
@@matthewstrohmaier1647 I don’t to be honest. I’m assuming something like an Akai MPD of some sort. They made a few models with various faders etc. 👍
While on the iPad, wouldn’t garage band be better suited for this ?
I don’t mean to dis, love your content!❤

What's best Android tablet for koala?

Anyone with a decent processor in it

Is there a way to slide 808s? Been trying to figure out why the legato feature doesn’t work.
Maybe by resampling while you manually change the pitch, try to get some good takes you can isolate and place?
