So you've made the ratatouille, and now you've made the soup, which means that what's left is The Sweet Bread a la Gusteau.
@Abinanta Maheswara that dish is not possible
@@Tangarisu wait how
@@gojoluvr28 Its Just not
@@psga5555 That is not an answer. Why would it not be possible?
Don't forget about his heart roasted on a spit!
You know it's actually Babby's talent and hard work going into the videos, because he has no hair to be controlled by a Ratatouille
Edit: To everyone reminding me his name is Remy, I'm pretty sure it's Andrew
*There is another*
Funny
W post
It used his beard
The rat's name is Remy
Would love to see you do the thing Remi made at the start of the movie
The mushroom with cheese, rosemary, and dew smoked over a chimney and struck by lightning
That would be awesome, although it might be hard to get a camera up there
could use a tesla coil for the lightning
Surprise ElectroBOOM crossover?
The dew was liquid from Sweetgrass. Sweetgrass makes amazing tea, so im curious how it would be on mushrooms.
Don’t forget the saffron that “makes it.”
I was going to make potato and leek soup for lunch; now I'm gonna roast that garlic first and watch everyone's face light up with extra delight. Thanks man.
How was it?
It was fabulous!!! Great tip 👍👌
I added ghee in mine instead of olive oil
@@shadow_realm47 what is that emoji
@@lexterslife a custom one apparently
What I always found interesting was how it looks like Remy turned a tomato broth to a cream broth
Right
Soup transmutation.
Culinary alchemy, but the final products are reversed
SAME, even with the mad carton of cream he dumped in. Sorcery
rats can’t throw up, so linguine’s soup was so bad, he broke rat anatomy

Honestly, Ratatouille got me into cooking and opening up my mind to combinations and thinking of cooking in different ways. So always glad to see Babish doing another dish from this great movie.
The cheese and fruit combo is a trip
Same! I'm starting uni on food technology next year (thanks to Remy) :)
Same... alongside shows like Iron Chef...
I started cooking because of Ratatouille and it maintains a spot as one of my favorite movies, along with Meet the Robinsons. A different time with movies.
On any day in February, make Homer Simpson's Valentine Breakfast from, "I Love Lisa", episode
Maybe save it for Bacon Day
I would love to see y'all's take on the "hazelnut soup" mentioned in Tangled!
It was only mentioned, nothing else. They never showed it or anything so you have nothing to go off of.
“You’re right, this is just a snack for me” iconic and relatable as always
I can watch Ratatouille over and over again! The soup looks delicious! 😋
Why does this recipe require heavy whipping cream
for some reason?
@calebsawyer0719 because heavy cream in soup is delicious? Seriously, what a silly question haha It’s thinned out by the stock so it doesn’t taste too heavy… have you never made or eaten a creamy soup in your life before? 🤦🏼
Voiceover Andy was on point this week. Especially with those classic lines.
Last Week Andy though.....PFFFT!!
Except he said onions instead of leeks
5:10
I really liked the voiceover for this episode, it feels like you had more energy that day.
I was always hoping Babi would do this! Also, nice singing 🙂
@@Babish_Culinary_Universe.... shut up
YES YES. After all these year you made it. I've am way wonder how Remys soup would work. Now what is your take on Sweet bread al la Gustaeu?
I hope he makes that, I haven't seen anyone try and make it yet!
He can, but the ingredients will be extremely pricey
Everyone who watched ratatouille as a kid would have given anything to try this soup, even if you didn’t like soup. Just looked so magical
What do you mean, "don't like soup?" Soups have such a wide variety of flavors and textures that it doesn't even make sense to say you "don't like soup." It's like saying you don't like sandwiches, the word covers everything from the basic sliced meat, mustard, and lettuce you make for a quick snack to pulled pork sandwiches, BLTs, and cheeseburgers.
I dont like soup
@@angolin9352 I didn't like cream soup as a child; only broths. Now I like both.
@@angolin9352 I know people who dont like eating soup because it's mostly liquid and they dont like the texture (even if the textures of soups are diverse).
@@vivipop So do they never drink anything because it's liquid? How do the not die of dehydration?
I dice the potatoes, lay them on an oiled cookie sheet, and put them under the broiler until they have brown crispy edges. Major flavor addition.
By far my favorite cooking show on UA-cam and it's not even close. The production quality, the humor, and the videography make me feel like I'm watching to enjoy, not just as a guide to produce an end result. Not to mention, the recipes themselves are amazing and really easy to follow.
Please more budget friendly recipes like this! The economy is killing us home cooks over here!!
Last week Andy really missed out on the freshly grated nutmeg.
This one of my favorite soups and really easy to make.
I use ½ & ½ instead of heavy cream so it's healthy, or something...
I just boil the potatoes to death, no cream needed and no blending if you reduced the leeks enough. 😅
I have been waiting almost 6 years for you to make this soup since you made the ratatouille in 2017.
I love love love that you added white pepper. I always add it to my leek potato soup and it just brings up the entire thing into a new flavor profile. I also add a bit of nutmeg.
I've waited so long for this. That scene where Remy makes this soup is the reason I started watching cooking shows.
One of my favorite soups to make, especially after St. Patricks day . I use Tarragon and add in leftover diced corned beef.
I made this recipe and it turned out fantastic. The only things I did different were:
-I added dried dill to the vegetable stock in addition to the other herbs
-I added 2 finely minced shallots towards the end of caramelizing the leeks
-I used sour cream instead of cork (dunno if that was spelled right or not) or cream cheese
I think it’s quark :)
I literally bought the ingredients to try this yesterday!! What incredible timing
I just made the basic version and I have to strongly recommend anyone to try make it. Absolutely delicious. Don't be deterred by its simplicity. Simple but far from boring. And surprisingly pretty filling. I used unsalted Vegetable broth but I was surprised how much additional salt it didn't need towards the end. I garnished mine with cilantro and heavy cream. Also, if you end up overcooking the potatoes, just add more vegetable broth when using the immersion blender so its not so thick.
I literally have been WAITING for this video, I made it for Christmas and New Years, but I also felt like it was missing something and I think you’ve nailed it.
Finally! I have missed Babish updates! Loved the totally copyright free Babish rendition of the video!
Here’s an idea for a future episode. Do the Krabby Newburgh from the “Squilliam Returns” episode of SpongeBob. When he serves the roast, SpongeBob tells Squilliam the recipe word for word. And of course, we all want to see Babish make peas the old fashioned way like Mr. Krabs did in the episode, as well as an approximation as to what “The Appetizer” is supposed to be.
I would love to see babish take on some of the dishes served in The Menu!
Everything except The Mess, Tyler's BS, and the Dessert course...
@@caronstout354 He's done a video on Tyler's BS and fixed it up. As well as the cheeseburger.
One Disney recipe that I think would be a great recreation would be the triple berry pancakes from bear in the big blue house which I not only have watched as a kid but now that it’s on disney plus it’s a trip down memory lane.
I clicked so fast 😭😭 that soup looked so heavenly
potato leeeeek scoop
I’ve been waiting for so long for someone to recreate this soup, so glad to see it!!!!
I made this soup tonight, and it is everything you ever wanted. Also, the freshly grated nutmeg was a great idea! 👌🏼
A bit out of season now but could we get the Christmas dinner feast described by Scrooge Mcducks nephew in Mickeys Christmas Carol? I don't even remember it all now but it sounded INCREDIBLE.
I’ve been waiting YEARS for this episode
This is my favorite soup as well 😋 I add a squeeze of lemon juice at the end and it is fantastic. I literally make this once a week
We need that full cover of Babish singing the soup montage.
My first thought when I saw leeks was the lamb in shallot-leek butter from the Menu. Looking forward to a Menu episode.
Ever thought of creating the soup that Searcher, Meridian and Ethan Clade were preparing in _Strange World?_
I think the soup was originally Tomato before Remy noticed Linguini knocking it over and ruining it.
We grew up eating potato leak soup. My Gram simply did chicken stock, potatoes and leaks and it was delicious. You could top it with cheese and bacon, whatever you wanted.
We need a full Babish soundtrack for Ratatouille
I really want to see this channel do all the food from The Menu (especially that cheeseburger at the end).
I’m a big fan of this movie. Although I am wondering if this is the soup Remy was fixing before being caught by Linguini.
It would be awesome seeing your take on all the dishes from “the menu” as they progressively get more and more chaotic
After you reach 10 million subs make
Clam-entine Crystal from Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated episode, "Where Walks Aphrodite"
Pretty please make Carob Cake from The Ghost and Molly McGee episode, "Innocent Until Proven Ghostly"
While I am remorseful of the absence of the spectacular Giacchino score at the beginning, I appreciate hearing the one-of-a-kind acapella version
That rendition was perfectly adorable, thank you!
Everyone’s commenting about the soup, but let’s take a moment to appreciate that specimen of a watch on his wrist. The Rolex Batgirl (or as I prefer it, Bruce Wayne). Sweet watch Babish :)
I suspect the first iteration of the soup was how Gusteau's would've served it, maybe with the homemade stock if Gusteau is the forward-thinking chef he's supposed to be. It would be interesting to see the version Linguini messed up and seeing if it could be saved.
Just made my first Leek - Potato soup yesterday inspired by the movie. Just now saw the video dropped this week. I will have to repeat the soup next week with your tips. Thank you for everything!
I have always wanted you to do Remy’s soup! It’s the animated meal I’ve always wanted to eat!
It’s so funny, ratatouille made me want to start cooking as a child, especially seeing Remy making that soup
I'm disappointed he didn't start it as the disgusting red soup like in the movie
"Now you might be thinking two whole heads of garlic for soup is a lot and you're right. That's why one of these is just a snack for me."
*Following along at home* "Umm..." *Looking at second cooked garlic head.*
So uhh, how are we supposed to send the snack portion to you?
Who could forget the iconic scene where Remy uses his immersion blender in the soup!

The way I had actually found a recipe to make potato and leek soup and got all the ingredients 2 days ago to make it and then you release THIS thanks Babish for reading my mind
You don't know how long I've been waiting for this recipe.
Thank you for finally using metric units!
Made this recipe without homemade broth for time purposes, and the seasoning was a game changer for a vegetarian soup. I added a lot extra of all of the fresh seasonings you used in the homemade broth in the soup, and it created an amazing herbal taste. The emulsification was also amazing, I always had an issue with making it too grainy.
I've always been wondering about the special order from ratatouille, it's a very exotic dish seems quite difficult to make
the ratatouille?
@@CinnamonRosswellI think it’s the special order that everyone in the restaurant has when one customer asks for something new
@@CinnamonRosswell it's the special order called Sweetbread a la gusteau from the movie
I made sopita de coditos last night and roasted two heads of garlic too! One to eat, of course :P
Potato and leek make easily one of my favorite classic soup flavors, thanks for the fun exploration.
THIS is SUM IVE BEEN WAITInG MY WHOLE LIFE FOR
Can’t wait to see you take on the Hawthorn menu from “The Menu” ❤
Do The Menu, the HBO MAX movie!
Huh, I was always curious what that soup was. Thanks for providing some much needed answers!
after years later, it’s finally here i requested this YEARS ago! :)
What if you made yam/fig/date jams that were mentioned in 2019 Aladdin movie?
This looks amazing! Now make the original soup spill half of it and improvise Linguini’s version.
Perfectly timed! Was thinking about doing Tattie and Leek Soup tomorrow! 😃
Glad I got this video because I was curious about the soup yesterday
Yayyy you're finally making the soup from Ratatouille ♥
I have heard of vichyssoise before. Heck, I've even watched and thoroughly enjoyed Ratatouille. But this is the first time I've been able to connect the soup with its name. Just another reason we enjoy this channel. 😎👍
Potato leek soup is my all time favorite! The scream I scrumpt when I saw this video on my page
“I’m gonna thicken its body before it thickens my body” is gonna be a consistent quote I recite from here on out.
My favourite vegetables are potato and onion, and with leek & chives' tastes being so similar, I think this will actually be my most favourite soup
lets eat fiction did a play by play of the entire scene of that soup and came up with a tomato bisque style soup that is honestly a family favourite for us year round! I highly recommend that recipe. 10/10
That intro song was gold! Hahaha
I literally re-watched Ratatouille yesterday and this appears on my feed, life works in funny ways.
I might try this one. I love potatoes and leeks, but I've never had any potato leek soup, including vichyssoise. However, cold soup sounds a little strange to me, and the lack of any chunks seems a little dull, so this looks perfect.
I'm exactly the opposite, I don't like chunky soups always smooth and homogeneous ^^
Probably because I don't like vegetables a lot :p
Excellent video, Babish. I have a question for you: have you seen The Menu yet, and if so, do you think you could make any of the dishes from it?
Yesss I agree 😊
Food is so gorgeous and majestic and yet you just add so much more to it recreating these dishes. I couldn't thank you more for this very channel for which my words cannot express thy love😭
Ever since I watched this movie as a kid, I always wondered what kind of soup was in the movie. Now that I know, i'm going to have to try it!
This is my partner’s favorite soup, I’m going to make this recipe for him!
Maybe you can do Donut and Cookie Dough S'more from 2017 DuckTales episode, Astro B.O.Y.D.
There's this soup I had once and loved that was a leak and brie soup. It was so savory and creamy.
I have been waiting for years for Babish to cover this recipe! Love ratatouille!
You should make the cheeseburger from “The Menu”
"American cheese is the best kind of cheese to put in a burger because it melts without splitting" - Slowick
Huh... ask and ye shall recieve
Am I crazy, or did he leave out the fresh thyme that Remy was crushing right at the end of the clip? I know there was thyme in the stock but a few leaves in the soup would be great too.
He left out a lot of stuff. For one thing, Remy didn't make the soup from scratch. He was fixing it. And the original soup was a tomato soup. You can clearly see it. Also, the critic who tasted his soup described it as spicy. So this was actually really bad
i've dream with this soup since i saw the movie, thanks a lot for the recipe, i will try it on autumn!
This was one of the first dishes I made in culinary school. So delicious!
I've been watching your stuff for years! I know you've done a normal apple pie quite awhile ago, but I was curious if you could do a dutch apple pie at some point in the future?
Feels like old babish videos, much better than recent stuff
I wash waiting for my spinach soup to boil when this came up. Ratatouille is my favorite!
I can't wait for the recipe!
