Came across you channel today and its awesome! Just bought the k969. I wonder why you use cs mod instead of making it rwd? Is the monoshock mod to increase steering angle? Some people use gyro and i wonder whats the positives and negatives about gyro. Will test the car when i get it but im interested in modding and thats why im asking :)
I use CS Mod simply because I like AWD drifting. Do you know the history of RC drifting started with AWD? I still like that same time RC drifting. Also, modification to RWD is not easy and expensive. Then I think it is better to buy a RWD chassis from the beginning. The reason for using a monoshock is to increase the steering angle, but also to accommodate the RX-7's low hooded body shell. As for the use of a gyro, it depends entirely on whether you are using AWD or RWD. RWD is completely uncontrollable without a gyro. However, we believe that it is basically not necessary for AWD. This is because it makes drifting more difficult. However, in recent years, there is a way of thinking to support drifting by minimizing the gyro effect. For the Mod I did, please see the video description and the link there (Instagram). If you have any questions, send me an Instagram DM.
Hey i bought the same ESC you are using, im also using the Sanwa MT-s with the Rx482 receiver. But i think something is not right. First when i turned the ESc on only Throttle was functioning. Then after some testing with an different ESc from my Tamiya TT-02, i treid the mini ESC again and then nothing worked. It just got hotter and hotter when the Power switch was turned on. I don#t know maybe a short circuit or am i just not using it right? Would be awesome if you would answer. Cheers. Nice videos.
Do you think you can modify the 989 to be close to the drift ability of the 969? If so, which upgrades would be needed? I own the 989 and would like to get somewhere close to your 969 :) I like your content really much, keep going! 😊
The stock K989 and K969 chassis are basically the same. Only the diff and the tire are different. So, if you do the same mod as my K969, it will be the same car. However, if you are a beginner, CS mod is not recommended. As explained in the video, it's very difficult to drive. The main purpose of the CS mod is not to improve the performance of the car, but to increase the countersteering when drifting and to make it drift like RWD. So I recommend adding only FOW to the mods mentioned in my K989 video description.
Thanks😊 Radio Mod is to improve operability by changing the transmitter, receiver and ESC to high performance ones. Please read the video description for more details on each component.
Do you think just a front one way without a cs gear would benefit the minimum mod k989 on the exits where it tends to stall and make it turn quicker? I imagine that without the cs gear, the tyres would turn too fast for the one way to have an effect on the handling really... What do you think, should I get a fow for my k989?. I'm not that experienced and don't really trust myself doing the cs mod or even the tighter steering cirlce (moving the ball head forward)
FOW (Front one way) is a very effective mod for making small turns. It works even without a CS mod. CS Mod is also effective, but CS Mod is rather a mod for counter steering drift.
That video looks sped up. Is it? I can’t get mine to drift that fast but I’m new here and I suck. Stock 989 with locked rear, e bay drift wheels and steering increased as much as I can.
I think it will make a difference depending on the viewing angle, driving method, tires used and weight balance. But my car is clearly slower than a stock car. How does it compare to other videos on my channel? My K989 may resemble your K989 setup.
@@R-EVLMNKY Ball diffs are used in all cars. The feature of the ball diff is that you can adjust the effectiveness of the diff to your liking. Whether or not to use a ball diff depends on your driving style preference.

Whether the differentials are locked or open is a matter of personal preference. I prefer to have the front open and the rear locked, as many people do.
